What's new

ICC CT 2017, Group B | Sri Lanka [322/3] beat India [321/6] by seven wickets

Man ENG are serving up some roads here !

Indian won CT2013 specifically because the conditions were bowler friendly .

Otherwise I expect an easy walkover for AUS or ENG .

When do we start pushing the panic button? If this partnership goes on for another 10 overs I think we might be looking at a defeat here boys..

Then how come Yadav's speed is not going up?

He's been bowling within himself in ODIs. Bhuvi is really improved but he's not a 145 kph bowler, neither is Amir or Hasan for that matter. they are all low 140s at their top pace.

India in a spot of bother. If they do not get a break through here, they will be in trouble.

Don't get what the fuss is about - India are still big favourites for this, unless SL continue like this for another 10 overs.

We need Mustafizur kind of bowling on this track. Bowling 140+ all the time will only make things easier for batsmen.

So , only you guys are allowed to do the wrist-slitting ?

Pre 2006, this would be TV-OFF time for Indian fans. :)))

You can't waste first 25 overs on such tracks in modern Cricket.

At 25 overs it was 138-1. I think that's very good. 169-2 at 30 overs. If anyone is to blame it's Yuvraj - 7(18). Even then, should've comfortably scored 330+ (double 30 over score). I still believe Dhoni played a tad slow and really Jadhav saved you a little from posting only about 300, to 320. But to an extent I agree if you score a century you should then go at 100+ SR, but even then Dhawan's was 98.

I still blame the 'power hitters' of your team.

Our batting is not dynamic, it's solid and good but not suited for high scores and flat pitches these days.

Missing Sach/ Viru/ old UV/ MSD :(

Hassan touched 146 kph and Amir can touch 150 which he did in Asia cup but he is still working on his swing so is not putting in extra yards at the moment. Once he is comfortable with the swing than he can pump it up.

Haha

I very rarely watch Pakistan in LOIs such is my lack of belief in them, surely you have much more faith in your team?

These pitches are total pattas. Nothing for bowlers.

Hence it is necessary to score close to 340 -350 to be assured of a win.

India need a wicket now.

How do Indian guys find Bumrah's action? He is a good bowler but I find his action pretty uneasy to watch in terms of broadcasting angle.

Yup, true.

The game is still slightly in favour of India but all those dot balls and singles by Dhoni and Yuvi might come back to haunt India.

No need to get too worried, the Indian bowlers are good and will win this match if it doesn't rain.

Bumrah is a very good bowler , not good on eyes but bowls great pace , length and variations.

And whoever backs Oldies should realise that we might get one or two good performance out of them but they will let us down more often than not. That four missed by yuvraj is criminal and deflate the motivation of the team.

I agree. Brittle middle order. I'd only be worried if it gets to 170-1, 20 overs left.

Its actually the quality of the team since the past decade, that's kept the Indian fans from going ApeS#It on the national team like the Pakistanis do ..

Remember, we were the same people who abused/hounded Anuska Sharma for VK's poor form in CWC2015.

I think we needed ashwin here for the spin choke to work, especially against the lefties.

A group stage exit from this tourney would be our next "Aaney Do" moment , where we ditch our seniors and past strategies, to rebuilt along the modern ODI template.

SRL is making a match out of it, but don't think they have the maturity to close it. Probably, 1 wicket away from collapse.

Can't watch today ....... :(

These 2 Lankan batsmen rode their luck and now they are in a position to totally destroy India from here.

Jadjea proving expensive.

India desperately need a wicket. Two best wicket taking bowlers in Ashwin and Shami out of the side.

Sri Lanka well in this game

Its been long since I have seen Jadeja going at around 8 runs per over. Kohli needs to change him, may be should introduce yuvi

It's clear, we are not winning this tourney even if we pull off a win today.

It's either ENG/ AUS (provided it doesn't rain)

Thank the lawd I did not make the confident, patronizing remarks about how we were going to win this easy peasy, how India was playing streets ahead of the opposition (South Asian at least), how we look so much in control, when I had the whole post prepared!

Well played that 1% of me that stopped the remaining 99% from doing it :))

We do not have the batting firepower to bat teams out of the game. Especially teams like Aus and England.

scoring 320 is cute. But not going to work against better batting units.

Aggressive and smart batting by these two. Dab & run and throw kitchen sink at bad balls.

Indian fans right now:

You just have to give credit to these two though, they are batting extremely well. Still long way to go.

good cricket from both teams but still India is fav imo
