Where was this intensity in last match?

I for someone watched almost every ball of IND-PAK ODI in 90s & I found the same from Indian team facing PAK. I believe, the biggest reason for that in Captaincy - Imran, Akram were unbelievably confident, to a level of arrogance, on contrary I found Kapil, Azhar & ST defensive & often withdrawing from eye confrontation.

Since 2000s, I see the opposite between Ganguly, MS, Kohli vs Waquar, Misbah, Inzi, MoHa, Afridi - even Sarfu.

While I understand the excitement, I would also advise folks to exercise caution. We are playing against a castrated team whose frailties under the pump are well documented.

We will not see a performance like this against any of the serious teams e.g. India, England and Australia.

The only team we won't see this against is India due to nerves.

If we dodge India, we'll win the CT.

The challenge for Syed1 and Hawkeye is to praise the bowling performance and gameplan without praising the team management.

Haha good one. Bowling is good, plans today are good.

The management and xi selection for the past matches , they should be held accountable for though.

Shadab just needs to flight the ball a little more..bowling too flat to the lefty

Even this win does not tell us anything. This kind of knock over stuff happens once in 5 matches against top team, what happen in AUS as well, only one day we won, when we knock them over at 230ish...

This batting lineup cannot be continued, we must force young blood and should cross 300 on regular basis!!

I don't understand it, why no nerves against SA then, they are also a top side? In any case, being an underdog should be less pressure.

We haven't won it yet LOL

Match perfectly set up for an Azhar Ali tuk tuk innings of 70(100) to see us home.

:salute

Any team would love to have a bowler like Amir but our nagging fans think that there is Amir in every gully and muhalla. He is a good talent. He is just being defensive for some reason. Once he starts attacking stumps again, He will come good. No need to over react and ask for lynching.

Says who? Aaag was quite nippy and surprisingly quick from an ambling runup. You don't just become the fastest bowler in ODI history to 50 wickets by accident.

well you can be the fastest to 50 odi wickets but that doesn't make you nippy...nippy is over 140kph. Agarkar was certified 130kph bowler...he could at most bowl 3 kph over 130 if his life depended on it.

Pakistan looks like a totally different unit from what they played against India. Me loving it

Delusion. Aggy was around high 130s on average. But yeah, he was Indian, so he has to be slower than Pak bowlers right?

For that to happen Pak will have to win this match. Win against SL by a good margin and beat England in semis.

Very very very small chance.

Most importantly, India will have to beat SL and then Australia/NZ in the semis. Very very very small chance.

We'll obviously do our part but the parosis will fail I think. :hasan :hasan

Bring Amor and Junaid back on. Is Sarfraz saving them for last 10 overs? Defensive mindset, they should be all out soon.

We are through dude. Crush SL tommorow and we progress ahead. The match against SA is irrelevant unless we lose it very badly. And if we can't win against SL then maybe we don't deserve to win CT.

Regarding other spinner: Kedar has a golden arm.

I really wouldn't mind SA knocked out early, and on the other side if Aus or Eng knock one or the other out. Makes India's chances much brighter.

As such, India's play till now is starting to remind me of the greatest ODI tourney performance ever, the 1985 Championship

Our two best bowlers are bowling. I think he is being uber attacking.

This intensity has a lot to do with SA. We have beaten them in big matches frequently because we know that we can put them under pressure.

We will back to crapping our pants once we are up against India, England and Australia. Enjoy this performance while it lasts, but please don't get delusional about this rubbish team.

Pakistani fans are predictably getting carried away and setting themselves up for disappointment later. We will never learn, because we like doing things the hard way.

No, we are pretty terrible.

Today is an exception. Immad got lucky with the wicket of Alma and AB. He is not going to do that gain, not good enough.

Oh now I feel bad for him.

Funny how fans have already starting overrating the team to the moon. We'll win the CT? Stop deluding yourself. South Africa has a history of doing this time and again, there's a reason they're called chokers. Not to forget, we're yet to win this game. The batting has always been our problem and I'm still not sure we'll be able to avoid the threat of Rabada, Tahir and Morkel. South Africa is No. 10 for a reason. When their batting doesnt fire, their bowling does.

It's good to see Pakistan bowling so well, but one game does not make a great team, nor a great bowling combo.

Yesterday fans were condemning the Pakistani team as useless and unmerited. Today they're cornered tigers. likely champions.

Come on.

Our batting lineup is such a confident bunch, there is nothing walk in the park, they will sweat like hell even chasing 200 :acp:

This is the one type of match where Azhar Ali is needed. He is calm and composed and can tuk tuk his way to the target.

Pakistan normally matched England during ICC tournaments, I think it would be closer than you think.

I have never doubted Wahab's passion but he did not have the guile to play top class cricket consistently.

No, we are pretty terrible.

Today is an exception. Immad got lucky with the wicket of Alma and AB. He is not going to do that gain, not good enough.

And we will probably never even play a side that has someone like AB and Amla in their order again.

We'll get Aussies in the finals and making it there will be an achievement in itself. Most expected us to crash out in the first round.

How come you go on suicide watch even when we are doing well :)) I thought you'd have taken a break from it, enjoy the game brother! once we come through this game, Pakistan will be UNBEATABLE.

LOL. Darn right!

It's South Africa & they know that if they lose today, they might be out of the tournament.

Nerve is a comparative thing - it's not measured on a standard scale; rather it's about a contest with your opponent. In every sports, we can see that - it's mind blowing that from 1934, that tie breaker win at Valladrom was Germany's 1st success in a KO game against Italy - that too via tie breaker & they failed to protect lead for last 35 minutes.

Yu can't measure who is the toughest - what I have seen is that, Aussies the the best whenever things start to go wrong.

England will be tough to beat in the Final and it will come down to who handles the pressure better and even I do not doubt that but the rest are not a problem, seriously I keep saying it but it's not even a joke. This team is SPECIAL, we will make the semis at the very least but am putting money on an Eng v Pak final

Don't let then take these singles, Miller can demolish our bowling when he's set. Good that Maddie is back on.

Pakistan can't win this match in world cup wahab the beast was the reason pak Won that match. His bowling figures was impressive 8 overs 45 runs 2 mdns 3 big wickets.Miss you wahab the beast

Who said we are making it past the first round. We haven't even won this match yet. And even if we do, we can still and most probably will crash out of the tournament.

We are not beating England or Australia or even NZ.

Amir and Junaid with only 4 overs bowled, will be interesting to see how many they end with

Respectfully, that is where you are wrong. One thing I have learned about Pakistan team is the moment you unload them of expectations, they bring out some moments of awe and stun everyone. I still remember the eve before their match against South Africa in WC15 and how the result was foregone conclusion, and we all know what happened. Pakistan in Asia cup against India were all out for 83 and at innings break, we (Indians) all were laughing about how pathetic the Pakistan team actually is and that laughter would soon be turned into administration for Pakistan team to fight back in such manner.

Wrote this a couple of weeks back and as uncanny as it seems, I was goddamn right.

One game in, and you are comparing it to one of our best tournaments ever? Where we dominated all the top teams? Premature.

If MoHa keeps bowling, PAK should pick Fahim over JK/Raees.

Every thread same nonsense remark from you,Pak has performed much better without him,Wahab was absolute rubbish against India.
