If Afghanistan beat us, all they will be needing is to beat NZ and Namibia to qualify. They have an amazing NRR of +6 after their heavy win against Scotland. Now if India win all their games, which they will then Pakistan, Afghanistan and India will end up with equal points with NRR deciding who goes through. India and Afghanistan may just pip us for the semi final spots
Afghanistan has not played much in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Their fortress is Sharjah only. They are over estimated, they lost all 9 matches in 2019 world cup which is even worse than Zimbabwe of 1992, who atleast beat England curtosy of chicken farmer, forgot his name, Edo Brandes something like that.

Afg v Pak on Friday is perfect . It’s a day off in that part of the world , so will ensure a very good capacity crowd.
India play Afg next Wednesday!

I like Afghanistan and I would be rooting for them normally. But, tomorrow the context is different; I want Pakistan to win. It will enhance India’s chances of qualifying for the semis a bit.

Pakistan and India were placed in the same group for this exact reason. A guaranteed game that will fetch 100 of millions in a couple of hours.
Otherwise, it made no sense to place Pakistan and India in the same group.
Cricket is not a sports anymore. It's pure business. Neither for players nor for boards.
No one has any true passion left to play for pride.

That’s true for most sports man you are in states it’s all about the $$ , atleast in cricket they still play Intl cricket much more than other sports(except Rugby).

Time to redeem yourself for players like Hasan Ali. But I am a bit concerned with Afghanistan openers taking us to cleaners. Hope there is some swing on the pitch. Also, I dont know how well Imad can do against Zazai, any thoughts?
Fair concern. How about opening the ball with Shaheen and Hafeez? If Zazai survives first over from Shaheen.
