Is there NO one in the Pakistan camp who has a calculator?
 
Because we are relying on USA to lose both matches so their NRR will go down anyway.
 
IF USA loses the NRR will go down anyway. THe difference isnt that big, for us to qualify we need to win 2 and usa to lose 2. NRR will go down for USA if they lose
 
Lauderhill just karma'd Pak in the backside. "Qudrat ka nizam that" for losing to USA and India the way they did!

This is a difficult ground to score at. Even India struggled vs Pakistan. Virat couldn't score.

Winning this game with 15 balls to space is actually good for this ground.

Don't worry too much about NRR. It isn't going to be huge if its comes to that.
 
It’s pathetic. Losing out on qualification on multiple world tournaments due to NRR in recent years and no urgency shown at all. With 7/8 wickets in hand with less than 50 to get nobody tries to finish it. And made worse by the fact that you’re facing Canada. Gutless cricket, you couldn’t lose from the position they were so many wickets in hand and hardly any runs remaining, ahead of the run rate, but they’d rather go for the run a ball 50s and rely on other teams to help them out. Such a poor brand of cricket Pakistan play. Annoyed/Angry.

Weather forecast for lauderhill looks very bleak. I don’t think any balls will bowled against Ireland. This is quite possibly Pakistan’s last match of this campaign.

The rain amount is actually the lowest on Friday, then Sunday.

Florida natives say it rains intermittently, so who knows.

We don’t deserve to go through anyhow.

They were playing against minnows .india were chase down 97 runs against Ireland in just 12.2 over at the same ground. Pakistan should have Chase this Target in 15 over at Max

This is no minnow. Pakistan are not on par with India. I don't understand why you guys keep bringing that up. Pakistan is not the same team. It was expected of India to beat Pakistan. Pakistan is more closer to the likes of USA than India.

If Canada is no minnows for you then nothing more to discuss.
 
Too late for Pakistan they shouldn’t have messed up the USA game they look it lightly and paid the price
 
"You knew how this pitch played, you had seen Canada's bowlers here as well. You should've known that one of their spinners, Junaid Siddique is not effective here at all. You should've taken chances against him. The over in which Rizwan hit him for six over extra-cover. You should've finished the game in that over to take your NRR above USA."

Bottom line is if Pak went to get the target in 13.5 overs they would have lost.. that’s there capability
 
Once again the focus is all on batting and posters here are refusing to accept that scoring runs in this ground is not that easy no matter what kind of bowling attack the opposition have. Our best bet was to get canadians out under 80 runs which was very much possible but again our bowlers bowled many garbage balls and Shaheen has simply refused to show up in this tournament so far.
 
As a batting performance this was largely flawless on a pitch where every team has struggled after the first 10 overs, especially while chasing. NRR is not an issue considering the close nature of the matches that Pakistan lost. And besides if there's rain or USA beat Ireland, it won't matter anyway. If USA loses both matches the NRR should take care of itself.

But based on the quality of their pace attack, Pakistan conceded too many runs. Shaheen in particular was really disappointing with his mindless insistence to keep going for that yorker that tails back in...which he hasn't got right in ages. And even if he could, this was not the pitch to bowl full on. Haris Rauf was also pretty wayward but atleast he took two key wickets.

This is what differentiates Bumrah from practically every bowler in the world. Bumrah does not care about the magic balls. He would rather strive to bowl four maidens and be absolutely accurate and on the money, based on the nature of the pitch. He knows that the wickets will come when the pressure builds and batters get frustrated trying to get runs off him.

SSA really has deteriorated as a bowler. He once was spoken about as being the most devastating opening bowler in LOI cricket.
Obviously things have not been the same since his injury, but perhaps a period of prolonged rehabilitation and a gradual reintroduction was in order, rather than playing meaningless franchise games around the world and county limited over cricket.

He is school of Junaid Khan, Umar Gul, this is his ceiling. Still a world class bowler on his day.

The most disappointing thing about Shaheen is his stubbornness. Okay, we get it you're not the same bowler you were before your injury. You are not executing your wicket-taking deliveries as well. Then atleast learn to adapt and bowl consistent line and length. Shaheen has enough tools with his height and ability to swing the ball where he can still be a very good bowler. But instead he insists on being predictable and doing the same thing over and over again.

SSA more often than not is a let down and costs us the game
 
They can barely win, you are concerned about NRR?
Lost first two games, surely they didn't want to lose this game either. Played the template game.
 
Pakistan were 59/1 after 10 overs. They should be able to score the remaining 48 runs in 5-6 overs with 9 wickets in hand to improve their NRR considerably.
 
Former New Zealand cricketer and renowned commentator Simon Doull backed Pakistan’s strategy during the run-chase against Canada, he said while speaking on a sports media outlet:

“We did see some aggressive intent [from Pakistan] but that pitch is very difficult to play anything across the line and to get the timing right down the ground. First and foremost, the two points were the big key for them and don’t have any periods where you let Canada back in the game and give your wickets away.”

“They still did it with 15 balls to spare which will do their run-rate a bit of good and India can help them with a comfortable win over the USA. Then Pakistan and USA might be on a similar sort of situation as far as run-rate is concerned by the end of tomorrow.”
 
@MenInG NRR was never going to be an issue for Pakistan. Understand this now.

Pakistan can only qualify if Ireland beats USA and Pakistan beats Ireland. That is the only scenario. Upon completion of this scenario. Pakistan's NRR will only go up and USA's NRR will only go down.

After today's loss of USA. The 2 overs gap that was left bridged. Pakistan's NRR is better now.

Like I said. NRR was never going to be an issue for Pakistan.
 
Yep USA has gone down in NRR.

Pakistan needs a miracle here to survive.

Although USA played very well today, if not for India’s middle order
 
To manage NRR you need players like Maxwell Klassen Rohit etc on the other hand Pakistan doesn't have a player like Steve Smith or KL Rahul thus far managing NRR is a long shot

To be fair, NY pitch is graveyard of NRR.

The fastest scoring periods over 8 matches have been a couple of stretches where a team has managed just around 8 rpo for 5-10 ovs and those also have been aided by poor bowling/dropped chances etc.
 
Pakistan never played for NRR. They just want to get away with flukes and Qudrat ka nizam. They just don't wanna try themselves hard. Looking for freebies. Pakistan should have won the canada game in 13-14 overs but instead they chose to drag it till last minute.

These same people would be crying if we went all guns blazing and dropped a game to Canada aswell. Just to get a meagre few NRR points, which don't even matter right now anyway.

Our fans are as dumb as our team.

lol I was thinking the same thing but you said it. There was absolutely no reason to worry about NRR . Pak was always going to be above USA because they lost 2 very close matches. They played exactly how they needed to. NRR is not important anymore, USA just has to lose and Pak has to win. The margin is irrelevant.
