BD suffers from the same chicken heart mentality that Pak & virtually every sc team bar India suffers. They simply lack game awareness. If you are indeed gunning for a minimum spot in semifinal then these are the kinds of matches & opponents that you take advantage of. Last night Pak & today BD have shown similar mindset, just somehow sneaking away with the winning points. No attempt or plan to dominate & earn a massive nrr booster. Look at how NZ took the advantage of a rudderless Eng side,that's elite mentality, look how Sa are batting, nonstop barrage despite losing wickets. Even Ind gets freezed on knockout stages, but at least in league stages they never miss an opportunity to humiliate lesser opponents.

That’s what I’m saying- Kiwis got to touching distance, then went after with two set batsmen. Batting conditions at Ahmedabad & Dharmsala are not same, neither the bowling quality.

I think, NRR might come to play, but it’s not run rate (scoring rate), rather net run rate, which can be enhanced by avoiding loosing by big margin as well.

AFGs tried that today - didn’t bring 5th bowler till dead end and defending 156, they kept 5 men on line to avoid humiliation, while Poms kept trying to get wickets till probably Kiwis reached 250 and gave two set batsmen lots of hitting opportunities. The way Afghans approach their defence, I am sure BD would have given the initiative back to them being over aggressive.

For that AFG had to score just 220.
