He would be ripped by Aus fans and media if he did that, BD fans are crazy supporters of BD behavior and players.
 
unless its a raging turner, bowling 15 overs of nonstop spin to maxwell is not a good idea.

You see, 1992, this format was used and till last day, 6 of the 9 could make it - PAK edged past AUS & WIN on 9 points. Had WIN beaten AUS, they would be on 10, while had NZ beaten PAK, Australi would have made it over WIN on NRR.

In 2019, till penultimate round, 8 of the 10 teams could make it - son last round PAK lost by NRR.

This year, now at it looks, only insignificant game will be IND-NED and no less than 7 teams still active going to last round.

Compared to that, other WCs with different formats were too predictable, even by half way - only in 2007 it was spicer for two upset wins. But, that format with just three group games was also too hit or miss.
 
Wrong choice. Maxwell will fancy Nabbi. Why on earth isnt the dull captain bringing a pacer on one end!
 
Afg need to regroup and come up with some new idea. The spin attack is not working against Maxwell. He is too good against spinners.
 
This is turning out to be a thriller.

Should've been one-sided had Mujeeb taken that catch at 112/7.
 
Pressure if off now. Pacers will be taken to cleaners as well. Cummins is a proper bat in these conditions. Rashid only hope.
 
Poor Afghans sitting with a sorry face thanks to Match ka mujrim Mujeeb. He has consistently dropped catches. They should hide him somewhere
 
how lucky maxwell been. He was the guy who came out to face the hatrrick ball lol.

Came at 0/1 at #3, then to 91/8, to 180/9, then 110 in last 10’2 overs, Holding facing max 15 balls for like 7/8 runs.
 
Tremendous batting from both of these players. Two very contrasting styles but equally good

Makes it easy when the opposition captain kept spin on forever from both end. This isnt spinning pitch. Still their spinners are good but on good wicket spin both end for too long makes it too comfortable for the batsmen
 
Mujeeb really messed up a massive massive chance . Maxwell dangerous now
 
If they can nip 2 wickets at the other end they can still make it interesting. But they are bowling wide balls to Cummins

I can’t see how Afghanistan will get Maxwell out unless he holds out with a tired shot ..
 
Should we field first or bat first. This question will come back once again :) After 25 overs pitch became a belter predictably. All the damage has to be done before that
 
From 100 gap, Aussies are 35 behind in DWL par - miraculous recovery. If they can reach 40 overs with 7 down, they are winning.
 
They just need one miscue from Maxwell that can happen even when 20 runs are left and they will win it. Wicket will come

Half of the shots he has played is high risk, low percentage shots - AFGs have dropped him twice and inexperience is creating panic. Experienced teams would have given him singles at the start of over & then locked Cummins putting a Test match field; shifting the panic to other way.
 
Afghanistan deserves this win even if they dont qualify for the Semis. But you dont get to win if you cant hold on to your catches
 
I think our spinners are better because our fielding and captaincy is better than Afghans.
 
Ball is hardly attacking the stumps. WIth no slip how are they going to get wickets with wide ball? Waiting for an inside edge?

Its the fielding that makes bowlers look even more lethal than they are. Rashid is better than any Indian spinner. But Indian fielding will make up for the difference in talent.
 
Another 4 overs of this hitting and its game over for Afghans. Right now they are in a shock.

Don't want to make any comparisons, but my heart clearly says Maxwell's current innings -> Fakhar's.
 
Afghans could had made this their 1983 moment and they ruined it coz catches, which India did well in that tournament.
 
Poor fielding, catching is costing Afg. One area that needs massive, massive improvement. Imagine how their catching will wilt in knockout pressure.
 
Goat innings by Maxwell. BD dropped him twice. One of them was a dolly. Really a dolly. Gotto feel for them if they lose from here. Also will make Aussies extremely lethal if they pull this off
