Winning XI of IPL 2019:
QDK
Rohit Sharma
Surya Yadav
Ishan Kishan
Hardik
Pollard
Krunal
Rahul Chahar
McCleneghan
Bumrah
So is it really that strong that not other team will come close and we can call it vastly superior?
I personally dont think so but maybe I am missing something which others can point out.
Winning XI of PSL 2019:
Shane Watson
Shehzad
Ahsan Ali
Riley Russouw
Umer Akmal
Sarfaraz Ahmed
DJ Bravo
Mohammad Nawaz
Sohail Tanveer
Mohammad Hasnain
Fawad Ahmed
Is it really that weak a team to loose every match against MI team mentioned in post #104?
Lol! Looks like it was again nothing more than biased and emotional outbursts from few without actually considering the teams, stats or facts.
Reading this thread a neutral person who didnt watch an IPL team to would imagine IPL final XI was Aussies of 2000s or WI of 80s because of the way some posters from both sides of the border were hyping IPL teams.
@Hperion66 Indianfan topspin hassan123. Kindly refer posts #104 and #105. Do you guys really think one can clearly say that one side is vastly superior than the other? Kindly give unbiased responses and if you think one is vastly superior kindly prove it with some facts.
Lets compare them man to man.
Openers - IPL Duo: QDK + Rohit Vs PSL Duo: Watson + Shehzad
Both IPL openers wipe the floor with the PSL openers.
QDK v Watson may seem close at first but in last year's IPL, the former beats him comprehensively as he was the third highest run scorer. He scored 529 runs at an average of 35.26 at a SR of 132.91, whereas Watson was averaging 23.41 at a SR of 127.56.
Winner: IPL openers - QDK + Rohit
IPL v PSL Number 3 Batsman: Surya Yadav v Ahsan Ali
Surya Yadav IPL 2019 - Average: 32.61 at a SR of 130.86
Ahsan Ali PSL 2019 - Average: 22.25 at a SR of 130.88
Ahsan Ali has fared worse in an inferior league, so it's obvious who comes out on top here.
Winner: IPL number 3 - Surya Yadav
IPL v PSL Number 4 Batsman: Ishan Kishan v Rilee Rossouw
Ishan Kishan IPL 2019 - Average: 16.83 at a SR of 101.00
Rilee Rossouw PSL 2019 - Average: 32.77 at a SR of 135.94
Obvious who wins here.
Winner: PSL number 4 - Rilee Rossouw
IPL v PSL Number 5 Batsman: Hardik Pandya v Umer Akmal
Hardik Pandya IPL 2019 - Average: 44.66 at a SR of 191.42 (WOW)
Umer Akmal PSL 2019 - Average: 34.62 at a SR of 137.12
Winner: IPL number 5 - Hardik Pandya
IPL v PSL Number 6 Batsman: Kieron Pollard v Sarfraz Ahmed
What a mismatch lol.
Kieron Pollard IPL 2019 - Average: 34.87 at a SR of 156.74
Sarfraz Ahmed PSL 2019: Average: 29.20 at a SR of 119.67
Winner: IPL number 6 - Kieron Pollard
IPL v PSL Number 7 Batsman: Krunal Pandya v Dwayne Bravo
Batting:
Krunal Pandya IPL 2019 - Average: 16.63 at a SR of 122.00
Dwayne Bravo PSL 2019 - Average: 11.50 at a SR of 79.31
Bowling:
Krunal Pandya IPL 2019 - Average: 27.91 at an Eco of 7.28
Dwayne Bravo PSL 2019 - Average: 28.42 at an Eco of 8.29
Winner in Batting and Bowling: Krunal Pandya
IPL v PSL Number 8 Batsman: Rahul Chahar v Muhammad Nawaz
Rahul Chahar IPL 2019 - Average: 6.00 at a SR of 109.09
Muhammad Nawaz PSL 2019 - Average: 24.50 at a SR of 108.88
Winner in Batting: Muhammad Nawaz
Bowling:
Rahul Chahar IPL 2019 - Average: 23.69 at an Eco of 6.55
Muhammad Nawaz PSL 2019 - Average: 26.92 at an Eco of 7.60
As Bowling is their speciality and given that they wouldn't have many opportunities to come to the crease anyway (since they both bat beneath number 7), I don't think too much weight should be given on their batting stats. Nawaz's figures with the bat aren't exactly ground breaking anyway.
Winner in Bowling and Overall Winner: Rahul Chahar
Specialist Bowlers
IPL v PSL 1st Bowler: Rahul Chahar v Muhammad Nawaz
Mitchell McClenaghan IPL 2019 - Average: 47.33 at an Eco of 7.88
Sohail Tanvir PSL 2019 - Average: 21.73 at an Eco of 6.93
I don't rate Tanvir at all but given the gulf in their bowling stats, it's only fair he gets the nod here.
Winner: Sohail Tanvir
IPL v PSL Round 2: Jasprit Bumrah v Muhammad Hasnain
Jasprit Bumrah IPL 2019 - Average: 21.52 at an Eco of 6.63 (Outstanding)
Muhammad Hasnain PSL 2019 - Average: 17.58 at an Eco of 7.53
Winner: Bumrah
IPL v PSL Round 3: Lasith Malinga v Fawad Ahmed
Not a fair comparison but due to the different make up of the two sides, there is always a chance of having to compare a pacer with a spinner.
Lasith Malinga IPL 2019 - Average: 27.37 at an Eco of 9.76
Fawad Ahmed PSL 2019 - Average: 27.09 at an Eco of 6.57
Winner: Fawad Ahmed
Not only does the the IPL side win in 8 of the 11 head-to-head comparisons, but they clearly more star players.
The fact that nearly every Mumbai player accomplished better figures compared to their Quetta counterparts in the world's premier T20 tournament shows how far ahead they really are. The gap between these two teams is actually greater than the gap between Pakistan and India.
