Can you please elaborate on the incident? Was Imad centrally contracted at the time? How did the injury occur (during a game/practice for Pakistan, league cricket or personal time)? Could Imad's injury have been treated in Pakistan and Imad made a personal choice to go to England?

These are all valid concerns as the PCB should not be accountable for treatments that have exaggerated expense overseas.

The game before also, the crowd here supported us and today too. They've been terrific. He (Powell) has matured a lot as the captain and is one of the best players in the West Indies. During one toss in that wretched tour, Atherton asked Butt if he would want to bring back experienced guys like Younis and Yousaf to bolster the batting who was thin as paper on that tour. Salman Butt replied When you're building a house, it doesn't look very beautiful whilst it is under construction, but once finished, it looks brilliant. He articulated these words. Atherton was chuckling listening to Butt being firm on Pak not needing the old guys and the new ones would come good. Well, after that eventual summer was over, Azhar Ali from the new bunch was the only one to go on to achieve a good test career.

The thing I want to say is, when you have a new captain at helm with an inexperienced management, the stubborn decisions of the captain can very much lead to disaster if he isn't kept in check and his decisions aren't challenged. Babar seems quite adamant of taking these guys to Australia. It's his team and if he goes on and fail at wt20, he won't have anyone else to blame as he has been provided with every selection he was asked to.

Even trying to compare Imad with Khushdil is next level idiocy. How can you compare a bowling all rounder who has performances to back it up with a total talle baaz? Maybe I missed all the innings where Khushdil scored some runs. Forget Khushdil, Imad alone is better than Asif, Ifti and Khushdil combined. I would take him over Khusdil Shah any day of the week. I have more confidence in Imad batting at 5 in T20Is.

In terms of his raw ability, he's nothing special but what seperates him from the mediocre bunch is his elite mentality. He has the self belief to perform in any situation. This has been the key for him in delivering some excellent clutch cameos in the back end of the innings.

Many people forget he's a proper batsman. This is evident by his 40+ average in ODIs and FC cricket. He can score runs all round the ground unlike some of the leg side hacks in the side.

I also like Imad because he plays selflessly for the greater good of the team unlike our current captain who plays for his stats.

I'm also a fan of Nawaz but his skills are different. He's more of a pinch hitter and a superior spin bowler. It's a myth that you can't have both players in the side.

It's a travesty that Imad keeps getting ignored for the shortest format when really he should be leading this side.

I agree that he should have but he wasn’t interested. A couple years ago he was asked about his interest in test cricket during an interview and he said his knee injuries didn’t allow him to consider a test career.

T20 is easy money. Why play test cricket.
