So which era or period would you choose? Note, this is not about changing your personal circumstances from the past, so it has to be before 1970 or before you were born, whichever is the lesser.

This is about going back in the past and having a little look around for a while at some interesting or significant period in history. I would love to go back to the time of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and follow in the footsteps of not only the best of humanity, but the best of all of creation.

This may be an obvious and popular choice for some so you can add another period, same goes for any significant religious event/period of whichever faith you follow if you do.

As someone with more than a passing interest in history, its hard to choose, but to get the ball rolling, one interesting period I'd like to check out is the time of the Roman Republic and see those Gladiators in action, I may even catch the Spartacus uprising!

Over to you guys.

Berlin between 1933 and 1945.

Front row seat to a calamitous event. The extended EP version with the B sides.

WW2 and events leading to it, definitely one of the most significant events of the 20th century. Would probably have hated to have live through the ordeal but it would be fascinating to view as a time traveller.

Any era is better prior to the internet. Less distractions and more human interaction. Especially when I was growing up in 80s and 90s in Pakistan people were very friendly and used to look after their neighbors and in general, people were caring. Fast forward to 2020, the same people are full of envy, jeolously, no respect for their parents. Parents and their sons/daughters are enjoying naughty indian films together. Everything when it comes to moral values have gone awry for good and there is no changing back. Even though I was born into a proverty stricken household and had no netflix and not many hundreds of other distractions percolating my attention. I had mental peace and there was a camaraderie among brothers and sisters. Even among relatives. As far as following in the footsteps of Holy prophet is concerned, we Pakistanis use it as a clutch. I do not think so it is very much possible to follow in his footsteps under present area with all the technology tools and mass surveillance transgressing into the crevices of our brain cells. However, what we can do, is try to be a gentle and caring human being and try to look after others who are not privileged and the judging part should be left to God solely and solely. The world will be a much better place. Look at the west or even in our countries, people are munching on psyciatric pills and on a microlevel, people are not happy at all. It goes without saying that people should enjoy their life to the fullest whenever possible. When I compare my life, it was really hard in every ara as poverty is a kind of creativity outlet where no art can be carved out and it was the case with me but I had mental peace because people used to be happy even with small portion of the food and people used to be thankful to God for his kindness. Now current era with all this globalization and technological boom, people in general have become a part of neverending rat race and to a fault they have forgotten the mere existance of God. To be honest, this virus thing is a nice break from all mass consumerism and cut throat competition and money making rat race. Now people have time to get closer to God and be humble again.

After 1980s , this is the second most important period that I am enjoying because now people have time to get closer to God and there is seerenity everywhere. Pollution has decreased drastically and the nature is enjoying this serenity as well.

I agree, although technology has many benefits, it has also become detrimental in that there is probably a lot less social interaction than there used to be back in our earlier lives. What other period in history that was before your time would you like to visit?

1950's people had more class.

Or

Muslim peak in Andalusia where knowledge gained was about to change mankind.

I would love to be around at the time of the prophet Mohammed PBUH. I long just to see him and I would love to see him in my dream.

Additionally, being around the ottoman times would have beem amazing too. I mean at the peak of the empire; definately a golden time for Muslims.

More then that, being around the 1940s would have been fascinating. I could see the creation of Pakistan and the Quid Azam.
