Here you go.
Shadab 68 wickets in 16 FC games.
Usama Mir 16 wickets in 12 FC Games.
I am only posting here because it seems some Pakistani fans are overvaluing Usama Mir as a legspinner simply because he might leave us for England. He should definitely be kept around in domestic and developed, and he can be quite potent in a few years time.
But it is simply incorrect to say he has been underutilized, wasted, or unfairly not picked. He just never made his case that strongly for the national team.
Shadab has better stats as a legspinner, is a fantastic batsman (his timing when hitting the ball this English summer has been better than both Ollie Pope and Joe Root according to CricViz — maybe doesn’t have the technique but the potential is there to be very, very handy).
And most importantly, which I rate the most, is his fitness. He energizes the team with his runouts, puts pressure on opposition by stopping easy singles, and runs brilliantly between the wickets. He performs under pressure and shows a rare ability to absorb it for his team as seen in both Test and T20 matches previously.
Maybe he’ll squander his talent and become another Malik or Hafeez. But Shadab is infinitely better than Mir on pure merit. A case might be made for Umer Khan, but he has only 8 FC games under his belt.
