On wickets that were helping the spinners, we saw M.Mohsin (debutant) spin the ball for Zalmi and other night Fawad and Nawaz keeping it tight, Kings and United decided NOT to play Umar Khan (leading wicket taker for Kings last year) and Zafar Gohar (proven performer and promising allrounder)

how can this be justified?

Imad needs to understand that his place in LOI is fixed so he has nothing to fear..

Shadab, dont think will let Zafar Gohar play and probably, if he gets to play will be wrongly utalized ... similar way he abs crapped Ammad Butts role in the XI by sending him at no9 ....

Umar Khan might get games given Deano will get his way but i dont see much hope for Zafar Gohar bcz the useless and pathatic misbah wont let him play over his fav blue eye boy

It was due to the pitch conditions in NSK.

Do you watch games or just look at the scorecard?

When asked about the opposition / pitch, Imad noted how Zalmis best/ most experienced players in Malik/ Kami are very strong against spin. That’s why ‘we left out Umer who is one of our top bowlers’. And why he didn’t bowl himself in the power play. So Imad himself brought up Umer Khan.


As for Islamabad, if you think Shadab has any say in team selection with Misbah at the helm, you’re clearly deluded. Shadab is simply a show captain. To follow Misbahs exact orders.
 
Imad mentioned Umer Khan specifically in the post match interview and said he wanted to play him but he didn't fit this specific game plan. If you might notice, even Imad himself who usually always opens didn't bowl until later in the game. The entire idea was that players like Kamran and Shoaib are much stronger against spin, and therefore no spin bowler bowled until they were both out. Umer will get his chance, don't worry.

Shadab? Probably yes, but he can't as captain drop himself for Gohar. What do you really want him to do?

How many games of PSL Zafar played in previous 4 editions? Deano was also afraid that Zafar might show his brilliance on the field and will become head coach. :virat

The title of the thread is that Imad Wasim is deliberately destroying the career of Umer Khan. How exactly is that true then?

If the last line is true, why is Shadab named as destroying Gohar's career?
 
Keep spreading conspiracy theories.

Teams will play their best combinations and will want to win. Not cater to random desires of an internet user.

Hope Amad Butt doesn't play any other game, lost us the match single-handedly.
 
Umer should come in for Arshad tonight. Umer will be useful against a Quetta top order that consists of Watson and Roy.

I hope you are watching today's match and will notice part timers like delport and ifthikar bowled a total of 7 overs. While Umer didn't bowl a single ball
 
Insecurity is the problem. They feel threatened of competition.

This is why i say average cricketers shouldn't be leading any sides in Pakistan. They will always play politics for their survival.

Today's match confirms that umar will not get a proper chance untill he is in the same team as Imad.
 
Rohail did same thing with Mohammad Haris in U19, Rizwan did this against Saud Shakil...

Couldnt get much chance even in national T20 cup as KPK went with Mohammad Mohsin and Zohaib Khan more often than not due to their bonus batting ability.

Its a shame that he wasnt given an over even when he was selected by KK today.
 
Some one should ask this question to Imad in the presentation ceremony. It will be huge injustice if Imad is not questioned over this decision.

These types of politics are always there in sub-continent but in Pakistan its over the top. Because people like these get away doing this for long time due to no one questioning them.
 
If I had any authority at KK Imad would be sacked .. thought he was level headed but same old mentality.. disgusting guy.. shame on him , this should be highlighted by the media & a post match explanation
 
Wasim Akran was showing disappointment upon umar not playing any fc. I dont know what is stopping him atm.

Problem is 90% of our cricketer are corrupt unfortunately and Wasim Khan I don't even consider himself decent. He is ok but to get the best out of our domestic players we need far better administrator than him.
 
In PSL most of the players get selected by their strong connection. Very rare a player with decent talent get selected in the squad. To be selected in playing 11 is too much to ask.

While people do want local players to captain PSL teams, this is a potential drawback. Captains are likely to act selfishly and protect their personal interests.

That is why it is probably advisable to have foreign players as captains, who wouldn’t feel threatened by local players.

I think it will be good for youngsters if they play under the leadership of foreign players than Pakistan players. Same about coaches as well.

So? Ingram is better suited to 5, 6 because few batsmen in the Islamabad team can play well at that number. Shadab was clearly being wasted at 7 anyway and if he has delivered at 4 on two occasions, I fail to see what is your problem with him?

He is just getting lucky with all the dropped catches. He is clearly not a good enough batsman to bat at 4.

Ingram is arguably IU’s best batsman and he should be batting in the top 3 if not top 4.

It's well-known here that Shadab annoys him for some reason, so nothing he does will make Mamoon happy.

Besides, we have two kinds of posters.

2. Mamoon, who prefers foreign players at the top

So, in short, you can never make anyone happy.

Start replying to people after quoting them and making remarks, its just polite if nothing else.
 
Shadab seems to have have found his form back in bowling and as a bonus batting well. Always backed him hopefully he can contribute more in internationals as well.
 
Hate to see this kind of injustice. Something about Imad Wasim always irked me, he's clearly a very insecure individual with a serious hero complex

It was Imad's call not to bowl Umer Khan, not the Karachi Kings coaching staff's decision.

Bazid asked him in the ceremony and Imad clearly seemed irritated by the question. Don’t remember the exact words but he said something like ‘these decisions seem easy from the commentary box but it is very tough when you are out there’. It was a little awkward.
 
How can a part timer Iftikhar Ahmed bowl 3 overs and a specialist bowler not even an over ? Its quite crazy how the captain was operating on the field. Imad himself bowled only one over. These things only show nefarious intent.

Why did they pick him in the XI? Havee seen such moves in U 19 level, same thing coach Ijaz Ahmed did to Arish Ali Khan in U19 World Cup. He picked him for a side match where he did'nt bowl a single over.
It was a pathetic performance.
Karachi Kings was not looking to win the whole match. They were dropping catches letting Multan score easily.

Both Shadab and Imad are going to be the first choice spinners in Australia. It doesn't matter if Umer Khan impresses or not.
 
Imad has complete backing of people like Afridi and Akram. He was going to be the next captain of Pakistan. Luckily Babar performances and Misbah being in charge we don’t have Imad there. But there is a lobby in Pak cricket who wanted Imad in place. They will always find bit n pieces player to lead national side.
 
Absolutely disgraceful from Imad. The excuse was lame, considering Umer Khan has a great record against left handers. It clearly looks like he went against Dean Jones, because there is no rationale for picking a bowler, who doesn't even bowl one over.

Shadab has performed. He has done great job as batsmen. Shadab only promotes himself when their team loses wickets in powerplay.

Even with ronchi and munro not doing that great isb is get 160 plus scores cauee of shadabs batting

Imad is very cunning. Some poeple were mentioning that Imad did the same thing to Umer khan in 2019 PSL as well. This is the second time umer khan was treated this way by Imad. Umer was the best player last year so its clear now what the motive is behind this.

During 2019 world cup there were rumours of Imad doing politics against Sarfraz after his match winning performance against afghanistan. There were also rumours of Imad becoming Pakistan captain after the world cup. Thank GOD Babar has cemented himself as a top class player warna ye loser captain hota.

Lets all pray Babar succeeds as captain.
 
I've never really like imad as a player. Just feel he''s overated. The forced attempts to big hit can be hilarious at times. And his beer belly is beyond annoying.

Then to observe his pathetic cuptaany on the field just solidifies my opinion that he thinks way too much of himself.

Was shocked to see his arrogance during the post match presentation saying stuff like " commentators have it easy sitting above while we have to make tough decisions" (about not utilizing Umer Khan).
