Imad Wasim as Pakistan ODI Captain?

All the elements are against Sarfraz. People can not stand a Nazimabadi from Karachi being captain especially the aristocratic elements within the PCB. It happened to Miandad and has been a trend ever since. The Malir lads Rashid Latif and Younis suffered from it too, ironically the Nazimabadi Moin Khan didn't, he was sacked as captain on merit. Moin unlike the rest also had a desire to present himself better and was more successful at it than the rest. We have had captains like Inzi as well but he had the stature of a player who could not be messed with.

People have been hating on Safraz's chirpiness behind the wickets, his keeping errors are used to criticise his captaincy, and his lack of runs since he plays down the order are used to criticise his performance. All my Lahori friends hate him for his accent, quite ironic. Yes I agree he doesn't exude confidence during interviews but he should be judged on match results not post-match presentation ceremonies.

Imad is a poor man's Shakib Al Hasan. I do see him becoming Pakistan's Loi captain in the near future since we rather have him speaking at global tournaments than Sarfraz. People will use the excuse he's not a loi player when he's sacked but he just happens to have the 2nd fastest strike rate in the team over the last couple of years after Sharjeel.

Can't do worse than sarfraz. Sarfraz is a decent bat but he does not have the charisma nor the leadership skills to lead the team to greatness. Anyone can yell around in the field

To be captain he actually needs to be a good player and at present, he's pretty mediocre in my opinion. He can barely spin the ball which doesn't make him a realistic threat against teams in any format except T20. Even when he does bowl well teams have his variations figured out in the next game ala Australia. And his batting is pretty okay but far from good.

I agree but there aren't too many other options. All the experienced players are out of favour ttf's while the talented youngsters like Shadab and Hasan are too inexperienced and a long way off captaincy. Imad doesn't have too much competition for the top spot especially in Loi's if Sarfraz is sacked.

he is avg with bat and bowl... he needs to improve atleast on one of those to be a regular LOI player first..Or become a reliable finisher which is spot is also and always free for pak... then he will be a good choice... sarfraz with his chirpiness not sure how long will continue..

Looks like a guy who can lead a team well.

Reads the game well and the sort of cricketer who can inspire others.
