I wonder what the world would be like without the 2 countries (and their citizens) arguing about everything/anything.

Perversely speaking, does the Indo-Pak rivalry add colour to our world? (more colour than some want but...)

No. Topics unrelated to politics are just normal discussions. It is the politics where I sharpen my tongue, pen then my claws come out! That is when I am seeking a few Indian's to pick an argument with:maqsood Non political subjects don't have that effect on me. Here both can often be on the same side as well like in my case I know there are many Indian Liverpool FC supporters as well. Here I am on their side for sure. We don't argue about everything just for the sake off it.

Not an optimist, but I feel the days of Indo-Pak hatred are numbered. I think a very strong political and economic relationship between the two countries is on the cards within the next decade or so.

I expect IoK to be given complete provincial autonomy, with their own parliament, cabinet and PM; while still remaining under the control of the GOI. And that will pave way for the betterment of relations between the two countries - eventually leading to a bond that few would be able to break.

Don't be shocked. Don't rule this out. Britain and France were at war for genuinely over a thousand years. Yes, a THOUSAND years and now, since before the WW1, they have been the bestest of friends.

Maybe we can start by Pakistanis being allowed to make comments on Indian forums without being removed, un-fairly moderated or being roundly abused by 'Pak-haters'.
Indians posters just don't realise how good they've got it on this great PP forum.

It's the exact opposite. Look at the leaders on both sides.

It's a really pathetic state of affairs but seems to be no end in sight. I would like to think a forward thinking regional superpower was beyond this and wouldn't get dragged down by silly issues and that does seem to be the case....with China.

Honestly, I was a long time lurker who started posting because I could not stand the influx of Indians on all things Pakistani. Go to Dawn...full of Indians. Go to PP...full of Indians. Go to any news link with the word Pakistan...tons of Indians. Go to any Pakistan related Youtube video...tons of Indians. I don't think the other way around is true at all, maybe only in cricket.

Exactly. Just visit any Indian cricket forum, the amount of abuse against Pakistan is astonishing.

Indians can't even agree with each other, leave aside with Pakistanis. And Pakistanis are no better :))

Well said, atleast on PP they are heavily toned down thanks to the wonderful work of the mods. On other places you learn new profanities everyday.

I think we need an Indian quota on PP. A new Indian member should only be allowed to join if another Indian is no longer active or has been banned. Go to the cricket section and you have more Indian posters than Pakistanis.

Its very off-putting especially last few weeks. I don't mind good Indian posters but most are just very disrespectful. I don't like coming here to see Pakistan insulted in thread after thread.

Yeah one of the reasons I have been really inactive hardly posting, doesn't help when certain self-hating Pakistanis say the same things that chest thumping Indians do.

An example, in one thread a certain poster was calling PSL a mickey mouse cup while saying 'inshallah IPL will get bigger and better'. I mean :))

Pakistan and India will always argue about something, but in the last decade or so, Indians have been relentless with their nationalism. By this I mean, all Indians ever do is boast and goad others at an international stage. Honestly, it's as if Indians believe the world exists because of them. From Sports, to Politics, to Money, etc. Forget PP, have a look at Facebook BBC if you do not believe me. Indians will argue with anyone for the sake of it!

Take this forum for example, do you honestly believe all Indians are members because they respect Pakistan Cricket, or have they joined to boast about India vis-a-vis Pakistan? Granted a handful are genuine but the majority have alternative motives. They even make stuff up at whim just for a laugh. Have subscriptions with Pakistan news channels and websites. Let's not even discuss the false flaggers!

Anyway, the one positive is that such a rivalry can bring out the best on the Cricket field. It's because of such rivalry, games between the two are of high intensity and passion, such that CT17 victory felt the sweetest of them all, because India were humbled. Since that day I have not come across a single Indian fan boast as much as they did before Father's Day 2017 - and you know what, the rest of the cricketing world celebrated with Pakistan that day.

:19:

All it will take is a common enemy.

Until then, its just a dream.

Reality is that millions on both sides of the border are being trained into hostility. Just a couple of generations ago, they were the same damn country.

Outside their respective countries, they hardly argue with each other. Have had great friendships with Pakistanis wherever I've traveled and stayed across the Globe. Barring one or two people, most have been very friendly with me. Still remember running to the local store before leaving for the airport to get a gift for my Pakistani friend when I left a foreign country after spending a year there.

I've seen people behave their worse in 2 scenarios: 1) they are part of a mob 2) they are on the internet
In both the scenarios they get an opportunity to hide their identity/slip under the radar and that brings the worst out of people.

I've witnessed a mad mob once in my life and it was a horrid experience. Bunch of highly educated fellows, under the influence of alcohol, baying for someone's blood. It wasn't a religiously influenced mob as the leader was a Muslim and others Hindus.
Internet also gives that power to such individuals. When 10,000 people abuse a single person, its difficult to single out anyone and take an action.

In the UK we only argue when it comes to the cricket and possibly on forums otherwise we get on just fine

I don't know if you are talking about a certain artist doctor who posts here but one of my proudest moments was pulling him up on his sexism regarding an Australian convert to Islam and his racist comment about Pakistanis which got removed. I don't mind the guy, he is intelligent enough, but have some self respect for god's sake.

Since Modhi’s inception, there appears to be an irrational Mass Nationalistic/Religious cancer snowballing through the Indian Hindu population worldwide with its very anti-Muslim rhetoric manifesting itself by an ever-growing hatred of all things Pakistani. Moreover, I am afraid to say it is affecting their Educated and un-educated alike.

If India-Pak and pro/anti trump trolls stop arguing, the internet/social media will go completely quiet.
