Imam didn't have an attitude problem until the media and some 'fans' started heckling and taunting him nonstop. He is a 24 year old who is already under immense pressure because of these constant nepotism accusations so I would cut him some slack as far as the attitude is concerned. But I do hope he answers his critics with the bat in future instead of these childish emotional outbursts. And yes we need characters like Fakhar Zaman but we might as well wish for characters like Saeed Anwar. You have to make do with what you have not what you wish for and Imam is among the best openers we have available right now.
As far as 'pathetic selfish performances' are concerned, that is an opinion and different people will have different perspectives on the same innings. Statistically, Imam's has the highest average in the team and his career strike rate of ~80 is comparable to that of most of our other batsmen so all this talk of 'too slow' is just hyperbole.
Best opener in the country? Do you even know about Fakhar, Abid,Sharjeel,Sami,Khurrum,Shahzaib,? He's strike rate is the worst in the world.Any opener from our FC can do a better job than Imam.. Average is not everything , especially on flat tracks which we see nowadays in ODIs. Score of 270-280 are outdated especially in England,Australia etc and with players like Imam you can't reach 300.. change your thinking and opener your eyes to see what's been going on in cricket and how requirements have changed in the last 4 years or so...Fans rightly taunt him his strike rate is in early 70s against top 9 sides and you expect fans to remain silent and appreciate his disgusting batting and attitude ? we have far better openers available..we just don't give them a chance because relations in PCB are more important than performances in domestic and natural talent..stop defending one below average opener which wouldn't make to the B teams of any of the top side including Pakistan side if it's build on merit.
