What's new

Imran Khan Jr. - Left arm medium from Swat

U need brain to become a good bowler.
see anwar ali ecnonomy : no skills just used his brain

Was about to post a thread about him :))

Awful bowler. Yes it's good to have variation but this guy has to be the most useless "T20 Specialist" I have seen.

I rather we played with ten players than have him take a spot that others could fill.

Anwar Ali, Sohail Tanvir and now this guy..

The Pakistani bowling legacy

With heavy heart I have to say sadly

A career is folding :( :'(

Hasn't been effective at international level sadly.

Left arm fast medium? :)))

I feel for the guy... not cut out for this level.

He hasn't been able to vary his variations properly in international cricket. May be due to pressure.

In domestic you used to bowl 6 different variations in the over with perfection with batsman totally bamboozled. But in international cricket it wasn't the case. Too much predictable.

He's a trundler, but a good clever bowler for T20s. Everyone got clobbered, he's just too inexperienced atm.

Will improve. Good option for World T20 specially for Indian pitches.

Typical knee jerks here, so won't read too much into it.

I have always maintained that the guy is a trundler and will get carted around by big hitters like Warner, Gayle who can generate their own power.
We don't really have those kind of power hitters in Pakistan domestic cricket so he is effective against big muscular guy he won't be that effective saw it happen today.

will give him the benefit of the doubt for todays performance. Need to see him in next 2 matches to know whether he has been found out or not.

Will get massacred on Indian pitches where the ball comes sweetly onto the bat.
I can imagine him going for 40+ runs against teams with dangerous hitters like Aus, SA, Ind & WI

Pakistan has lost the match and most probably he will make way for Aamir Yamin or Mohammad Irfan.

Had we won the match than there was 40 to 50 % chance of him getting retained.

He good for mohallah cricket, not at all for international's . Even I could play him.

I would give him the next 2 match as well as every one was expensive today, but can't see it happening as he will be replaced by Malik or Yamin and FGS get rid of this pathetic Rizzu

Malik has been advised rest for two days.

I will repeat my question I asked in this thread before "Ye banda kya hay ??? Ye konsa bowler hay aur ye kya karwat hay ?"

What happened to our fast bowling legacy.

You know what the problem is - his faster balls are slow as well, slow as in under 80mph.

So his cutters and back of the hand slower balls are not that deceptive once that batsmen have figured him out a bit.

I am not convinced tbh.

LOL About time he will bowl so slowly that ball would take 100 bounces to reach the batsmen

Why wasnt sarfarz standing upto him seeing as tho he doesnt bowl above 125 ks?

Surely they shudve been trying to stop the batsmen from coming down the crease

To give benefit of doubt and in an effort to sound kind I would say he has the making of a canny LO bowler. He manages to swing it and there is variation in pace. But he is way too raw for international cricket. A wasim or an amir he certainly ain't. He could do with a yard of pace the his varieties would mean something.

Until his figures were spoilt he was actually quite economical for 3 overs but I don't think he was helped by atrocious field placings and poor wicket keeping.

He looks overawed by the occasion. Bechara.

I can't believe the keeper is standing behind at his pace. A bowler like him should bowl with keeper at stumps to discourage batsmen walking to him. Unfortunately our team management has no clue how to handle him. All England batsmen did yesterday was play him like a spinner used there feet and there was no reaction from the keeper. I seriously feel he can be a much better bowler with keeper standing upto him as this will ensure batsmen do not use there feet and if they do they have chance of getting stumped

issue is that we dont have players like AB , warner, finch, miller, butler etc. in domestic cricket who can generate power using just the muscles when there is no pace on offer. And hence people like imran khan jr. are successful against them. The intl. cricket wont let you survive if you bowl nothing but slower balls. Still lets see if he comes up with something else. He might be successful on turning tracks.

Overreaction as always. Needs to be given full series before discarding. Santoike has been good at international level too with similar type of bowling. But while we blame our cricketers of not being innovative, when a different type of cricketer emerges, we ask why he is not bowling at 140.

Santokie can swing the ball and can bowl sideways cutters. Imran bowls slow and slower which isn't going to deceive anybody.

Slow ball variations works if you have a faster one. If every ball is going to be slow, you might as well be a spinner. His career is winding down quickly.

He looked horrendous yesterday. All he was doing was bowling slow long hops. Christmas had come early for the English batsman.

It's unfortunate because I believe his 19 run over turned the momentum of the match.

Frankly, his bowling is not good enough for international cricket unless the pitch is super slow and even then why not just have a spinner who can also bat like bilal asif?

With all the spin talent in Pakistan and all the pace talent it is hard to justify the inclusion of a guy who bowls slower than military medium and cant hold a bat either.

Bye Bye Imran.

Why didn't Irfan replace him?????

Yet they leave out guys like Zafar? Is this guy Afridi's buddy too?

Yes maybe he isnt good enough but youve selected a guy who tries to mix it up so try and play to his strengths

The guy is bowling in between 55kph and 75kph and the batsmen are continuously using their feet against him

Why wouldnt one of the bowler, captain or keeper insist the keeper stands up to keep the batsmen in their crease?

Surely that should be a preconceived tactic as soon as you see batsmen coming out of the crease to him Hes not going to beat the keeper with his pace

In a t20 game youve got to be able to think on your feet rather than sticking to rigid plans

we need a foreign selector :sanga

he was selected for pakistan A to play aganistan in t-20 but didnt get a game :gul

looking forward to see him

peshawar wo the bank albaraka presents haier t-20 cup only because no one could read imran khan jr. , finished as highest wicket taker :mahmood

I am literally disappointed by you not saying word about ik junior. Atleast wish him best of luck for the last match but you aren't even saying a word in this thread. 😢😣

Very disappointed bro :'-(

Instead you have opened a new thread about sadaf hussain imternational debut count down.

Meanwhile

i think he is best pacer in pakistan , he should be in squad before wahab.

he should be given a proper run before judging , it was 1 off day , just give him some time.

good bowler, funny how a Pakistani bowler doesnt have a first class contract

Is he amongst the 16 main players of Peshawar Zalmi ?

Will he play today after success of Ravi Bopara ?

Junaid Khan must play today and Shaun Tait needs to be rested. Do Zalmi have any foreign player who can replace Tait ?

Yes he is among 16 main players. JK performing good today btw.

after watching elliot , bopara and delport im surprized they dont play him

afridi is a thick minded captain

He should be tested next game but the question is at whose place ? Don't see Junaid & Wahab being rested and don't see Shahid Yousuf being benched by Afridi.

If Imran gets a chance he must cash it and bowl the way he bowled in last 3 domestic T20 tournaments and not like the way he bowled for Pakistan.

He must execute his skillset I'm the right way with 6 different variations s deliveries at different speeds and different lengths and not same speed slower bowls at same line and length. (predictable asking for punishment)

me and my brother still laughing on ravi bopara dismissal :))) :))

Not sure why he keeps getting selected, you can only get so far with a variety of slower balls.

it is not just about slow balls, the total lack of cricketing acumen in terms of fielding, batting etc does not help the case at all. also should have tried to develop a fast ball as a sudden surprise but has not. a typical low bounce scruffy pitch bowler suitable for pakistani lower level domestic and private competitions with his current skill set.

should never have made an international debut.

Couldn't work out which was his slower balls and which were his normal deliveries.

Run-up and action looked as if it needs work on also.

Incredible that he was picked today ahead of Asghar.

he was brilliant in BPL btw if you go by figures

From what I saw today I couldn't quite believe how bad he looked.

More technical flaws than one could imagine.

How he was selected ahead of Asghar is beyond me and absolutely disgraceful decision

Anyone remember this guy? One of the funniest cricketers to play for us internationally :))

i remembered him last night coincidentally. A joke of a player. Probably the worst player ever to play international cricket.

Fantastic talent. Great command over length and is pretty smart. Some tweaks and he can be a great product for the national side. Brings back memories of a young Amir.

He is all over Saim Ayub. Got him right on the helmet badge now.

This guy has such fantastic control. 1/11 from his 3 overs so far

Got a little predictable in his last over, but overall a great spell of bowling. 1/25 from 4 overs

2 wickets (Rizwan and Masood) so far in the final of PSL 6. Seems to be standing up in the big match.

Think he should be ahead of Haris Rauf in the pecking order for T20 cricket. He has decent control and can remember him bowling quite economically in test matches previously.

Good control and an excellent slower ball. balls at around 135kph needs to increase it 140kph
