Jacques Kallis has won the toss and have opted to bat first.

For India there is no Sehwag, Tendulkar, Harbhajan, Gambhir, Yuvraj and Zaheer. Should be an easy victory for South Africa. If not, this will be a clean sweep by India.

Is this Tyagi the same bowler who in one interview said pace and bounce are his main weapons?

Really?where? :po:

dont think so......

This is a very crucial game for India. They have rested their 7 players and they are trying to thest their bench strength. If India is able to win this game or lose it in a close game, I think it would do wonders for India. They are doing what Australia has done over the years. A strong pool of backup players who can replace any major player anytime.

Sunil Gavaskar said there should be atleast 600 runs scored today, so the bowlers are in for a thrashing.....again.

One of the worst Batting powerplays with 8 wickets in hands is going on.

sa is very overrated in odi cricket! just look at their team today, no balance whatsoever. boucher batting at 6 and botha batting at 7??? boucher is one spot higher than he should be, and botha two.

atleast their bowling depth looks ok today, but even with a great allrounder like kallis they cant get their balance right.

This is a dead rubber. Ever heard of experimenting? Duh. :)))

That is why you can say India is testing their youngsters out.

I wonder if Kallis and AB say the following to each other "OK, lets both go for our centuries ... I'll do mine in 3 4's and and you can do it in 2 6's" ...

not just talking about today, but in general. icc champions trpohy and then england beat u at home! i think the batting is fine, but your odi bowling looks weak/lack of good allrounder like klusener, pollock, boje etc.

2 good hundreds there foor the proteas, The one fo AB was kinda special man. I think

it was the best ODI hundred ive seen. I aint watching cricket for too long maybe a year or five

and this was probably the best hundred I saw.

One of the Sa boys def had a chance to hit a 200 here on a good wicket against club level bowlers barring Sreesanth.. Missed outtt..

Brilliant, brilliant play from the South Africans... Ravi Shastri was predicting something around 300 (arrogantly), and even with 4 overs left to go they said only 350 might have been possible. De Villiers was magnificent, and Kallis showed why only Tendulkar and maybe Gambhir currently surpass him in world cricket. Brilliant innings from both of them, Kallis' innings was a technical masterpiece, the kind of innings that textbooks are written about. Superb from Kallis, his rotation of the strike was brilliant, and at the end, when De Villiers was wary of not reaching his hundred, Kallis calmed him down, shepherded him, showed him how to reach your hundred in style, and then gave De Villiers a whole over to do it in. Wonderful innings from Kallis, ironically the only ball he didnt play a technical shot to was the last ball of the innings... What a player.

Amla played brilliantly too, held the innings together whilst Kallis was getting started and Bosman was raging. He could progress into SA's Yousuf, his wicket was just a mix of inexperience and adrenaline rush today.

Besides the toolbar, we leave you with an email from Vinayak Shanbag: "Can someone please tell the BCCI or the pitch curators of India - to create some competitive wickets, which provides something for the bowlers; Not sure wats the plan ... it seems the curators are chansing some world record of 500 runs per innings of 50 overs !!!!"

Have to agree with him, what's wrong with BCCI? Or is this what the Indian cricket public want? It's not entertaining cricket when every ball is hit for a boundary.

today, da day to celebrate....
Unless Dhoni unleashes himself and chases down this target? :13:

Indian have been lucky batting first in those two first matches. Having 300-400+ runs on the board will more often than not win you the matches.

I really do hope India has a go for it i.e. so we have a match on our hands.

This game is dusted. SA still one of the tops out there in World cricket.

this is a India C team missing 7 of its regulars.....so dont start saying SA was unlucky or India was Lucky......

I have the highest regard for dhoni in the entire indian team.

the job he is asked to perform is a very very hard one. being an indian captain, the country expects you to win EVERY match no matter what or else you are gonna hear voices calling for his head immediately.

If dhoni is sacked, I think the indian performances will crash down to the floor. he is more important to india than sachin

very much expected excuse.. but on the other hand it jus proves that the indian bench strength is no where near the aussie or the RSA team

I think our C side will still put a better performance than your full strength side would against the teams you mentioned :D...

Is that why their first team lost to an Australia D side at home?

Boundaries still coming for India, looks like another sporting deck. :Sami

I'd be happy if India manages to finish with a 300+ total. Also would love to see Yousuf Pathan go berserk and smash everything left, right and center.

i concur :Sami

Eish, that looked painful ... seeing Kallis and AB diving for a catch and banging bodies. I once saw something where 3 guys ran into each other.

Dont mind my posts to king abdullah, me havin a bit of fun lol..

India loss is nearly as good as Pakistan win....the heavier the loss the better for me. I would like to see India concede 400 runs and I like to see 11 golden duck when they bat.

Like Itduzz I like to see the India humiliated every game, India victory in anything is too painful......I am being honest !!!!!

India 148/3 - india making a good fist of the run chase.

This Kholi kid always seems to perform when given a go,,, good prospect indeed... Dale Steyn looking a totally different bowler with SRT not being on the field...

Shame Sharma didn't go on today. One of the few watchable batsmen in this team, he is.

Raina was also out for a first baller lbw, not given and then dropped by Amla. He's had a couple of lives, lets see what he can do.

Are you having a laugh? :))

Well , thats it .. no more cricket for India until after the IPL .. after which they'll go on to win the T20 WC

Too many passengers in India's 'new breed', I don't rate the likes of Pathan, Kohli or Raina, personally.
