Dhoni is one of the most over-rated T20 player in international.
Yup Dhoni was pretty bad in T20 internationals, although he was superb in Chennai Super Kings.
Pant will be a better test and T20 international player than Dhoni for sure. Although surpassing Dhoni in ODI's will take some doing for the young man. He has age on his side though. Just needs to improve his temperament.

Agree with this.Dhoni is a GOAT odi player.
It happened once when he struggled to chase 1 run in 4 balls. I think it was against Bangladesh.

Dhoni was always rubbish - in T20s and Tests.
He is probably there since this is India's first series as part of the World Test Championship and the WI test team is tough to beat at home. They gave England a sound whopping earlier this year. Also, a good ODI side at home.

That is not exactly a tough prediction. We predicted 4 years back lol Kuldeep should have been backed. Having said for some reason spinners failed overall. It was seamers world cup. Besides Inda did not lose because of their bowling. Pant for a last minute call up did better than expected.

What sort of logic is this lol? VVS Laxman was a gun test player but that doesn't mean he should have played ODI's for India he was pretty average in ODIs. Same with Yuvi who was a good ODI player but an average test player.
Pant played a good inning today. Has a lot to prove both with his performances and consistency. If he doesn't perform, he will be criticised just like any other player. No one can stop it.

Despite West Indies is considered to be one of the best T20 team due to the presence of dynamic players they have a very poor W/L ratio. Barely above Bangladesh.

You really think India cannot win without Dhoni in T20s? Dhoni is useless in T20s. Recently Pant's DRS and keeping skills have been better than Dhoni. Also in T20s Pant has already surpassed Dhoni's highest score. He also has 2 50s in just 18 matches, compared to Dhoni who has 2 in his entire career of 98 matches

Dhoni has shown constantly in T20 that you dont need to bat well to be in the team. I mean 2 50s in 98 matches when Pant already has 2 in 18 matches. Dhoni has only 2 50s against all teams including the weakest and Pant has already surpassed him
