The action shifts to the Bellerive Oval in Hobart for the third T20I between Australia and India. The series opener was washed out, but we managed to get a full game in Melbourne, where Australia produced a comprehensive win. They will be eyeing a 2-0 lead and an unassailable advantage in the five-match series. That victory at the MCG was built on the back of a disciplined bowling display, led by the ever-reliable Josh Hazlewood. His trademark precision set the tone before Mitchell Marsh broke the back of the 126-run chase inside the Powerplay, turning the rest into a mere formality. With Hazlewood now departing for Ashes preparations, Australia will look to maintain that same intensity in his absence. In his absence, Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis will spearhead the pace department, with Sean Abbott likely to come in as Hazlewood’s replacement. However, a debut for Under-19 World Cup-winning speedster Mahli Beardman cannot be ruled out.

The home side will receive a boost in both departments, with Glenn Maxwell joining the squad from the third T20I. Mitchell Owen is expected to make way for Maxwell, who returns after sitting out the New Zealand series with a fractured wrist. As for India, it was a dismal batting display in Melbourne, with Abhishek Sharma standing tall as the lone warrior. The visitors struggled against the seam movement and extra bounce on offer, and if they are to bounce back in Hobart, they will need the likes of Shubman Gill, Tilak Varma, and captain Suryakumar Yadav to step up. On the bowling front, it remains to be seen whether India persist with their three-pronged spin attack or bring in an extra pacer should conditions demand, with Arshdeep Singh waiting in the wings. Axar Patel injured himself while attempting a dive during his run-out and subsequently did not bowl, leaving a question mark over his availability for the Hobart fixture. India will be playing their first game in Hobart since 2012. It will be all about adapting to the conditions quickly. With overcast skies expected during the night, the pacers could have a major role to play. Which side will read the conditions better and come out on top in Hobart? We shall find out together.

Australia will be without the danger man Hazlewood for the rest of the series, besides Nathan Ellis is just so poor but can't understand why CA persisting with him. Where is the guy named Spencer Johnson, I fancy him to be next nightmare for India especially in Australia.

Arshdeep was ranked world no.5 . won T20 cricketer of the year award. But repeatedly they dropped him and his ranking has gone down. Very unfair that Gambhir is showing bias towards Rana who hardly has any experience in T20. Not even one of the top 10 bowler in IPL.

Hobart is known to be a green pitch. I wonder if it will be the same for T20I. Wouldn't mind seeing some seam and swing.

India will come hard , but conditions suit Aussies more.
Problem is India is not going in with their frontline pace attack. Just Bumrah. No Arshdeep, No sira. They are just promoting Rana too much. Also Australia got lucky with 2 tosses. I don't think they will choose to bat first either.

Soon interest disappear after few overs and talking about missing Hazlewood, Starc etc :klopp :kp
India has won several bilaterals in a row. Especially T20. Never cared for it. Even the world T20 is meaningless these days. But that is the only one that means something. India experimenting 3 spinners on a juicy MCG is the crazy experiment one can see.

India is preparing for World T20 2026 Where three spinners will be ideal.:kp

I very much doubt anyone will watch this match. After first hour world cup final begins. That is where the focus will be for all Indians.

@Nikhil_cric india A chase down 277 against South Africa A. Pant scored 90 .

India was in trouble when they lost three wickets for just 32 runs , then 172-5 but lower order won match for india.

Garbage Gill's dream complete.

First taking over Samson's spot.

Now Samson is out of the team.

Gambhir hellbent on destroying the World Champion side.

Garbage ftb Gill will score 30-40 on flat Hobart wicket & Samson will be permanently out of the T20 team he helped build after retirements of Rohit & Virat.

Today my mind says Gill is hitting a century

Mitch owen will really struggle against quality spin . Don’t think he can carry on for long in middle order . He is just a powerplay basher against Pace . He won’t be a reliable middle order batsmen :kp

Highest successful chase in T20Is in Hobart: 177 by Ireland against Scotland in T20 World Cup 2022

TIm David is probably the most inform T20 batsman along with Abhishek in the world. I remember the time when TIm David was denied single just to keep him away from spin in the IPL. He was that bad against spin. He has definitely worked a method by standing outside the leg stump

Why would I back any team??

May the best team win..

If abhishek goes mad then game will be over in 16-17 overs max...
