Sky seems bradman of t20's rest all batsman in world are at the moment seems far behind him in terms of talent
 
It doesn't get talked about enough because it isn't a sub contentinet team but some of these senior players get way too much of a long rope.

Took forever for Guptill to get dropped, now it's Kane and Southee hanging on for T20 league contracts at the detriment of the team.

No, this series means nothing for us as well. I'm annoyed we didn't play new players because this lot has gone as far as they can go - we need to do an England and rebuild with a new philosophy, not fall behind like India and Pakistan have. It's the same players as the WC. It's over, most of the team should be gutted.

The way both of us went out, I would have preferred to go out the group stage.

It was a million times worse for India because they got an epic thrashing - 10 wickets and chased within 16 overs.

Basically all of these games being played now are warm up games for tournaments. This warm up game is right is between two teams who were humiliated one way or another in the world cup.

England took what seemed like a massive risk after crashing out of WC 2015. That kind of decision to drop big name players even though they were mediocre in ODIs and t20s takes balls. India did it after losing to Pakistan at home in 2012-13 series and will probably do it again like in this series.

Pakistan, NZ need to take notes.

Kohli (he was slow for most of the tournament), Rahul and Rohit should go as well.

I'm not putting it on India yet, Kohli, Rohit and Rahul are probably being rested.
 
India missed 20 runs for sure lol Some brainless stuff from Indian lower order going for glory shots instead of feeding strike to the set batsman.

Hopefully he has learned to see out the moving ball and pick his shots.

Does it matter you lose by 10 wickets? Not like England was running through India. Bunch of out of form players threw their wickets away. India put up an under par total paid the penalty. If England had scored 168 odds of India chasing with not more than 1 wicket loss was higher as well.

NZ will win this one. Indian bowling is still not the best possible bowling line up. Bhuvi is still playing. Arshdeep is still raw.

These games are good for Finn, need him playing as much international cricket as possible and learning before the WC next year.

The problem that most of us have with the selection of Bhuvi in T20s is that we end up starting with two new ball trundlers. Generally, we play 3 pacers + 2 spinner+ Pandya combo. Hence, out of 3 main pacers, we want two of them to be bowling at 140+( Pakistan has 3 of those bowlers) and the third one for us can be a left armer who may or may not clock 140 but should be skillful in all phases.

Arshdeep had a great season and he is very good in death overs compared to Bhuvi who is bad there(especially in last one year) so he should be sticked with now and we need to bring in Siraj instead of Bhuvi because he can pick wickets upfront with new bowl too and be effective on flat wickets too if he is in the rythm.
 
Bhuvi is another bilateral bully. Picked 1 wicket in 3 matches combined ( Pak, Eng, SA). :facepalm :inti

Bumrah hardly plays limited overs these days. High time we move away from him. May not play much at all. Kuldeep sen, Moshin, Khaleel, Umran etc has to be brought into the system.

Doesn’t matter. It’s an international game and they are all professionals expected to give 100%.

Everything else is just nitpicking. A good knock or spell or a bad one is just that.
 
Hopefully a thrashing this series will get the selectors doing their job and actually putting a T20 together.

Not a combined Test/ODI XI.

No pressure here just want to see a good game and so far SKY made it worth and also was good to see some intent from Iyer. Rest same issues exist unfortunately with lower middle order and top order

Rizwan-Babar and Rohit-Rahul cannot possibly be worse than Kane-Conway.

Could have chased it with Phillips and Mitchell getting time. The way it's going these two are going to eat up balls and leave 120 off 10 to chase for them.

I think Conway is serviceable but Kane is pretty slow as per modern standard. Conway does strike at 135 overall.
 
This is just selfish batting from Kane.

He's killed any chance we had of winning this game.

I think next game Glenn Phlips should bat at no. 3. Williamson out.
 
NZ don't have great white ball talents waiting in the wings AFAIK. Phillipps and Allen are the best and they're already there in the team.

Probably IPL contract.

Might retire if he's not picked up in the auction. Will be little reason for him to stick around.

With this win, Team India have gained a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

For India, Deepak Hooda returned with four wickets. Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav's unbeaten 111-run knock guided Team India to 191/6 in 20 overs. Suryakumar smashed 111* off 51 balls to keep momentum towards Team India, after initial fall of wickets.

For New Zealand, Tim Southee took a hat-trick in the last over while Lockie Ferguson also scalped two wickets.

Apart from Suryakumar, Ishan Kishan also played a knock of 36 runs off 31 balls.

Earlier, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to bowl first.

To be fair to Willamson, every batter struggled on this wicket except SKY. Unfair to single him out for this knock in particular.

Problem is, Williamson almost always plays like this, pitch, conditions don't matter.
