Shows Indian bowlers can be taken for runs. Unfortunately Pak batting is not good enough to capitalise on their weak links such as Hardik (he’s decent but not threatening by any means), Axar and Dube.

Indian batting is on another level esp. Abhishek and Tilak Verma (his performances have largely gone unnoticed). Pak fans may not like to admit it but the gulf is huge.

If Pak somehow beat India on Sunday (chances are remote), it will be as big an upset as India beating Windies in the World Cup final of 1983. In the ODI series that immediately followed the World Cup, India were blanked out 5-0 by the West Indies!

Abhishek has been phenomenal with the bat. If he wanted to be selfish. he could have had a couple of hundreds in the Asia Cup. Shows he’s playing for the team; did not slow down or change his gear after reaching his fifty

I believe that Sri Lankan batting is better than Pak. They lost Nissanka and Mendis early otherwise we might have been facing a target of 175 instead of 133. They just had an off day against us Pak however, has an edge in bowling.

India and Pakistan lost to Ireland and Bangladesh in 2007 world cup. Were those teams better? Sometimes good teams can have off tournaments.

I have said it time and time again that my rankings are

1) India
2) Pakistan
3) Sri Lanka
4) Bangladesh
5) Afghanistan

And I am not willing to change my stance ever.

Any team can beat any team and in recent times Afghanistan managed to beat Pakistan, England and Australia whole Bangladesh couldn't.

However every Bangladesh and Afghanistan encounter have been awfully close with both teams being very very realtive and now with Afghani pacers aging, Bangladesh is stronger.

Pakistan has beaten Sri lanka black and blue in every format over the years. T20 was the one format where Sri lanka was managing to one up Pakistan courtesy of Rizwan and Chacha always finding ways to mess up on t20.

Doesn't mean Pakistan was weaker.

I dont get indian fans. India has an objectively stronger team yet indian fans cant settle. They are hell bent on driving narratives upon narratives around Pakistan being thw worst team when theyve always been the 2nd best asia side.

Sri Lanka literally has one batter that is better then every Pakistani batter in t20 yet people are using that as proof of Sri lanka being better then Pakistan .

Sri Lankan bowling is non existent and their batting is = to Pakistan if you exclude our century maker from yesterday.

Kusal perera is another who is better but his situation is dependent based of one performance every 15-20 games rather then 1 performanxe every 5+ games.

It's really just one batsmen who is carrying.

Cricinfo is not quite the guardian of cricket as they are also a private entity. There are other statistics websites that record it as a win or loss. In the end we should be looking at the specific ICC rule that defines when precisely is the result a tie.

Clause 16.3.1
“If the teams’ scores are equal after both innings have been completed (if applicable under DLS – see clause 16.4), then a Super Over shall be played. If the Super Over is a tie, then unless exceptional circumstances arise (see paragraph 26 of Appendix F) subsequent Super Overs shall be played until there is a winner. Should it not be possible to play or to complete the Super Overs needed to determine a winner, the match shall be tied.”


Match is initially a tie and a Super Over is played to break that tie. It is a tiebreaker to determine the result or winner of the match. If they are not able to determine a winner, only then is the match a tie. If you go further even cricinfo further breaksdown ties into wins and losses. I was surprised SL only managed 2 runs in the Super Over.

They have some good strikers of the ball --> Nissanka, Mendis, Perera, and Shanaka.
