I do agree that the batting seems to be highly dependent on the exploits of Openers.

It was always India & Pak coming out of Group A. There was never a doubt.

The only thing Indian fans wanted to see is if Pak will choke against any of the minnows which they seem to do every now and then. This time, there are no suprises.

They are all top order guys. Jaiswal, Suryavanshi, Iyer most of the guys are way way better than Rinku. But India is treating Rinku as a finisher.

Yes. Rinku must go. He had one fluke IPL season. Since then he has been mediocre to average.

India should play either Samson as a slogger in his place or just play Washington Sundar who can also bowl well.

India put up an imposing 209 for 9 after being sent in to bat. Ishan Kishan led the charge with a blistering 61 off just 24 balls, while Hardik Pandya contributed a quickfire 52 from 28 deliveries. Although Namibia skipper Gerald Erasmus impressed with a four-wicket haul, late cameos from Shivam Dube and others ensured India crossed the 200-run mark.

In response, Namibia made an encouraging start, racing to 57 for 1 during the powerplay. Openers Jan Frylinck and Louren Steenkamp provided early momentum, with Frylinck striking 22 off 15 balls — including three fours and a six — before being caught by Dube. Steenkamp remained unbeaten on 29 from 20 balls at the end of the first six overs.

The momentum shifted dramatically when Varun Chakravarthy produced a match-defining spell, claiming 3 for 7 in just two overs. He removed Steenkamp, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, and JJ Smit in quick succession to derail the chase. Axar Patel (2 for 20 in three overs) and Hardik Pandya (2 for 21 in four overs) provided strong support with crucial wickets of their own.

Namibia’s batting lineup crumbled under sustained pressure, losing wickets at regular intervals. Erasmus attempted to steady the innings with an 18-run knock but was caught at long-off. The visitors were ultimately bowled out for 116 in 18.2 overs.

With the win, India sit atop Group A with two victories from as many matches, level on points with Pakistan, who hold an identical record.
