India (223/2) defeat England (188/8) to win 5th T20I by 36 runs; Win series 3-2

England's destruction has been completed. Please spare a moment of silence for the English bowlers who were killed in cold blood.

RIP Wood,
RIP Archer,
RIP Jordan,
RIP Stokes,
RIP Rasheed

It's the fourth highest T20 score by India:

Highest totals

260/5 v Sri Lanka Indore 22 Dec 2017
244/4 v West Indies Lauderhill 27 Aug 2016
240/3 v West Indies Mumbai 11 Dec 2019
224/2 v England Ahmedabad 20 Mar 2021
218/4 v England Durban 19 Sep 2007

I think from next year onwards I can see some fans treating Kohli the same way legends like Dhoni and Sachin were treated by them. He is getting near that age where fans start losing patience and respect for a player. :inti

Is Kohli a legend as per you ? Or he needs to achieve more.

The key is Jos Buttler and Jason Roy. They need to get off to a good start. A poor start will be difficult to overcome for England.

Most runs in a bilateral T20I series (full member teams)
231 VIRAT KOHLI v Eng 2021 (5 inngs)
224 KL Rahul vs NZ 2020 (5)
223 Colin Munro v WI 2018 (3)
222 Hamilton Masakadza v Ban (4)

Virat Kohli this series
vs Rashid: 32 balls | Two dismissals | SR 71.9
vs other bowlers: 125 balls | No dismissals | SR 166.4

For all the talk about aggression and preparing for worldcul it was timid from Morgan to chase again. Eng could have scored much more on this belter. Now they are up against it every over. India's game to lose from here

Unless england get off to a flyer here then when england wont get close to indias total.

Wood seems like a one trick pony. It was great to watch while it lasted. Stokes bowled well and should have bowled his 4th instead of Jordan who's probably the most overrated in their line up

England have a great chance. Though I won't count Windies and Pakistan out.
Windies will be the team to beat i feel again because they can neutralise spinners with brute force.

Nah count us out. England, India, West Indies and NZ/Aus look the likeliest semi-finalists.

See (with naked eye, no blue lens) the boundary rope move while ball in hand

I think it was a reflection of flood lights from the skirting which made it appear to be moving. From diffrent camera angle u could see the skirting never moved

lol.. Slogger gone. England are one trick pony.. Just that pitches are flatter now and there one trick works 80% of the time.

Big test for Malan. He has not performed in this series, with the World T20 in India if he fails today and in the IPL he could easily be dropped.

Bhuvi will be a key player for India. He can get wickets upfront and does well at the death. Not to mention he is a good lower order batsmen.

?? I am asking a genuine question from you ? What do you think ? Is he already a legend or needs to achieve more ?

I think he has 2-3 years of LOI cricket left in him and I think the way he is going he will be caller a legend in LOIs especially ODIs. He didn't have one good series or 1 good calendar year in International Cricket, he has been doing it for so many years now. :inti

The one good part about IPL is itwillgive guys like shami, jazzboom, jads, rahul much needed match time to get warmed up and fit for the WTC finals and the Eng tour, but on the flip side risking burnout for several like vk, rohit, ashwin, hp etc.....that said any idea on when the fridge is Jads back....his injury from the sydney test of the first week of jan is taking forever....

Yeah agree. I have still more expectations from him in Test Match cricket. Needs to score 10K Test Runs to be considered an ATG. Hopefully gets his groove back.

Pathetic from Pandya. He would have been better off bowling when the field is back and taking pace off the ball.

Half track rubbish from pandya.

Mind end up giving more runs in this over then he did in entire last game.

Pandya didn't even concede these many runs in the last match in 4 overs than he conceded here in this match in just 1 over. :inti

Pandya gave away 18 runs in his first over today. He went for 16 runs in his 4 overs in last T20.

If there's any team in world cricket that can chase this total down, it's England.

Listening to Dinesh Kartik is a breath of fresh air compared with the dull and dreary voices in the BCCI commentary box, including Bhogle.

Yeah hope he stays on for the England tour.

Think we had Bhaji last time in 2018.

Straight at his pads at pace and Malan can't score. But they keep feeding him.slower balls. Not smart bowling

Game is not over. india has so many bowlers to target

It's far from over, England are doing very good here. Even last match went to last over when English were batting horribly at start, 11 runs an over Big task But if they score 9-10 runs an over now they could easily catch up when its time for spinners
