Why do you and your kinds always get BD into the conversations, I don’t live there, I was born in England, only been to BD twice. Just for your general knowledge there are around a million Bdeshis in UK mostly from Sylhet region. I have the right to support my country, England. I support my motherland more because their passion for cricket is different than England.

We live in a free county, we can support anyone we want. Its not Modi’s India we’re at where you hindutvas oppress Kashmir Muslim students for supporting Pakistan. Even in Bd during Hasina the indian stooge era in BD Bangladeshi fans supported Pakistan with flags and jerseys put on during asia cups.

Hanif Mohammad? Arey bhai, know your cricket - Hanif M was among the slowest batters of all time; extremely technically correct and having a gift of high concentration but nobody ever accused him of being a mega hitter.
On another note, Bhaijaan is Indian and just trolling - you just fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

This English team had more dangerous strikers from top to bottom. New Zealand in comparison have very few i.e. Allen, Sieffert and Phillips. Allen is not going to play a knock like that again. India are solid favorites in the final.
 
It was more like England losing it than India winning it.

England bowled terribly. You shouldn't give away 250+ runs no matter what the pitch is. :inti
 
Jacob Bethell played a blinder. For a young player with such little experience to go out an play that kind of a knock in a World Cup semi-final is remarkable. And that too infront of a partisan home-crowd fully behind the home team, who also happen to be defending champions. With the Ashes ton and now this, he has announced himself as the best young batters in world cricket, who can also do a pretty decent job with the ball. He seems like he has all the makings of a box-office star.

I think their plan was simple. Leave 4 overs of Bumrah go hell for leather win or loss against every other bowler. Boy he did it. He didn't have time to stop.
 
Sanju Samson has had the arc of the tournament. Regularly batting out of position, out of form and out of the team before the tournament. Comes into the team as a forced change and plays 2 MOTM knocks in 3 games, including the semi-final. If India want to win on Sunday it has to be on the back of him getting another big score. Because once he sets up the innings the others play around him really well.

Remember it like yesterday,work in a meeting furiously reloading Cricbuzz and had to restrain myself when Mushfiqur got out, and then Cricbuzz crashed for updates and WA started pinging like a Geiger counter in Chernobyl

Tbf he was a fighter and 100/100 for grit. Nearly got BD home, plus his test century against India...will always rate him for that. Irritating character as an opposition player however spunky and a good servant for BD cricket.

For all his peskiness, one of the true three Troika to come out of erstwhile East Pakistan

Given the nature of the situation and how fast the match was moving, the clarity of mind and confidence he showed was pretty incredible. He was toying with the field and executing everything to perfection. England tonight were missing that 40 off 18 from Salt or Buttler... both have been very disappointing in the whole tournament, but this was their most costly failure. For Bethell and the rest the runs were just too many. On top of that, the wickets of Brook and Banton at those specific stages did not help at all. You needed someone like Will Jacks for the end when Curran was batting and struggling to hit out.

Indian fielding stepped up every single time they were needed right till the end. Lot of players would have made a meal of those chances. Under pressure Axar, Pandya, Tilak were gun on the field. On a track which got better and better to bat on with cooler air fielding needed a big role.
 
So, only retribution for Pakistani and some BD fans is that IND is not dominating other teams as much as they would like it to be. They are number 1 ranked with with crazy win/loss ratio in the last couple of years. However, in the tournament it's not as easy as it is during bilaterals. Also, Abhishek has been brought down to Earth because in bilaterals Sharma seemed quite unstoppable to be honest.

That is good for Cricket because it seems in LOI, IND is leaving others team quite behind.

Both teams have been fairly poor the whole tournament but India turned up tonight and England didn't. That one Samson drop cost England dearly, whereas with India with those two incredible Axar catches turned the trajectory of the game twice, just when it felt like England were starting to cut loose.

In 2023 final very first ball Bumrah drew an edge Kohli dropped it. He could have gone bang bang had he gotten the wicket. Same way Head's catch of Rohit sharma decided the match. SKY's catch of Miller did it. Fielding is an under-rated aspect. India won the woman's world cup final with some amazing fielding. Australia won most tournaments because of their fielding.
 
Sanju Samson and the way he plays.. there are alot of elements reminiscent of Rohit Sharma. He doesn't have any hacky elements to his batting either. It's all about timing and proper cricketing shots.

But if Bangladesh were to face nz. I would always back an Asian team.

Problem is the fans. Pakistan fans for example are like Arsenal fans. They go crazy after winning one single title.

As long as they have less titles than India, I would back Asian teams cause we know nz and SA choke a lot

All 3 quality players. 2 or 3 bad games doesn't mean they are bad. Good that ind team is not like Pa ln team where they just drop players for 1 or 2 bad games, pick them again, drop them again circus style. There is still the funal and one or all of these 3 will come good.
 
I can forgive the Brook wicket because that was a crazy catch but I'm not sure if I can forgive Banton hacking across the line when he could have just as easily hit that ball down the ground for six. Small moments like these have a massive impact on the game when you are chasing such a steep total. Besides Bethell and Jacks, England batters simply couldn't deliver the goods tonight. The scary thing is that they still ended up with 246, which tells you that this is a serious T20 unit capable of destroying any opposition on their day. Today just didn't happen to be one of those days.

246 didn't tell the whole story. Game was done by 19th voer. 30 runs in on e over i impossible to score. Today they had nothing to lose. They swung for the hills. Came off. Varun C's form played into their hands. Probably kuldeep would have been harder to go after as he doesn't bowl at 100 kph

Point is, only two batters really fired and they still finished on 246. That's pretty impressive however you look at it.

Has happened many times in the recent IPL. At wankhede stadium under lights it is very hard to defend totals. SKY, Pandya themselves have done serious damage while batting second here.
 
The worrying thing for PCT's except for Farhan and Fakhars brute power and Saims cut no look shots, none of the other Pakistani batters are capable of clean hitting or scoring at this rate against a full member team in a tourney
