Given how ODI cricket is played these days sometimes it's difficult for the team batting first to assess a good score

But nz has the record of 20 but most players in the team are averaging 21 possibly

Australia around 19.5

So good 2 stages below Aus nz and possibly SA too.

If they improve further in this regard we can see better results in icc events.
 
This is a better pitch. Same as one we saw against Australia. New Zealand need 300 ideally. 280 as bare minimum.
 
NZ - 163/4 (37.1 overs).

NZ are in a good position to launch an attack. I think they should wait for 3-4 more overs.

They are not winning today. My username has nothing to do with anything and he's likely a better player than anyone from whichever team you support. Stick to the thread topic.
 
Indian spinners have been accurate.

Not a lot of turn on this surface. Just a bit sluggish so it shouldn't be problem for India chasing whatever NZ get.

It's the turn that usually brings wickets

India not going to use Pandya. They know NZ will target him.

4 spinners is an overkill. No offence. Global game final being made to look like local domestic regional game. 40 overs of spin should be barred in ODI. Jees!

CT 2000.

In that game, India were like 200/1. They ended up with 260+ because NZ pulled things back.

NZ eventually chased it down after being 140/5.

It was a great final. Thriller.
 
The reality is that NZ has botched the game. This will become obvious in the second innings.

Kid, I have been supporting Pakistan since the 80s so have some respect...but unlike, say, football supporters, I respect the opposition even if it is India...you were the one calling the team that has made back to back ICc finals chokers...what does that make Pakistan who have gone out the group stages in the last two tournaments?
 
NZ need a couple of hopeful cameos from Bracewell, Santner and Jamieson

From way before the start of this tourney, pretty much knew it was all set up for India well in advance as they would never travel to Pak.

Playing and being in one place for 2.5 weeks will always help that team.

This was the reason I wanted NZ to cause a major upset but seems not to be
