What's new

India (261/5) beat England (259) by five wickets in the 3rd ODI to win the series 2-1

It's good that the washed up top order is exposed here by a mediocre nobody like Topley. All these defeats (3-0 in SAF and a likely 1-2 here) give a clear picture of what to expect if we play this same bunch in the 2023 WC.

It's up to the TM to realize this and blood the likes of Gill, Gaikwad, Shaw etc for the top3 spots by showing the door to Dhawan and Kohli. But I'm afraid it's unlikely.

I have no idea why this team plays 2 "allrounders" in the ODI team. Terrible balance. Only 1 all-rounder who comes in at 7 please

Happens when your bowlers don't know how to hold a bat and your batters can't roll their arms over for a couple of overs to save their lives. India are the only side in the world who plays as many as 8 one dimensional cricketers in their white ball sides.

It's so horrible to see a tried and tested failure like Dhawan not only keeps getting picked, but also lead it but someone like Gill has hardly got any chance to be part of our ODI XI.

Gill should replace Kohli tbh.

Bhaag Viru Bhaag waiting for a wicket to fall :))

Whosoever he replaces, but he should be in XI.

Our top-3 is so ancient that it beggars belief that have our selectors/BCCI are so blind to the trend world over to pack your side with agressive batsmen.

I agree. Such players are important especially in ODIs

Pandya is batting so superbly. Such amazing elegance and class, he is having a great run now.

England needed to bat like these 2 after early fall of wickets. Understandable they want to go after the bowling but after losing wickets consolidation is must

pandya, take a bow

Indeed, what a player! Someone seems to have already vacated the place after this partnership has done well. Might show up if a wicket falls or else it is probably a bye bye Sunday . :inti

If england dont break this partnership in next few overs they will be well behind.

Those batting on steeiods and not playing 25 balls might cost them dearly

I wrote it at the start of Indian Innings , England wasting 25 balls will cost them in the end.

Less than 100 needed now. So at least we won't lose by 100 runs in this game.

This meaningless series and format will become meaningful here for some fans if Pant and Pandya wins it for India today. :rabada2 :inti

I'd play Dhawan and Kohli any day over the overhyped Gill and Shaw.

They should give the likes of Shreyas Iyer a longer run, and bring in Sarfaraz Khan.

I've never seen such a dull and uninspiring Indian batting lineup in my life. Even in the bad old days of the 1990s, we had silver linings like Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly. The current bunch are a complete set of to**ers.

England have themselves to be blamed here , even despite having so many overs to bat they played reckless cricket and in the end wasted 25 balls , they would have easily added 30 more runs.

Nice to see you're not traveling and have the time to now realize what a meaningless series and format this is - the format you pull up his pants about :warner

Keeping hoping. Don't despair. Maybe England can still pull this off and you can find meaning in life again.

Only thing which is meaningless here is your trolling. Repeating the same travel thing over and over again like a 2 year old.

And India will win this. :inti

You can explain something to an Indian fan or Pakistani fan . But you cannot explain anything to someone who claims to be not what he is but claims to be someone he is not.

Burnol on the way . Same one used by many in India in 2014. Stock left

OUT

Pandya gone , but the damage has been done , India should win this easily , no score board pressure , can just take time

Terrific from Pandya, one of the great ODI all round performance. Broke the backbone of England batting by picking 4 wickets and then came in a tricky scenario of 72/4 and has put India in a commanding position with a brilliant 75.

He is the man of match undoubtedly.

England really have no bowlers to go to in a time when they need wickets

Much needed wicket for England but looks too late for them.

If they can sniff out one more then they have to bowl to Shami

Ridiculous player, ridiculuous talent. The ignoramuses keeps on getting eggs on their faces again and again...lol.

That six over mid wicket against David Willey was so good...that even umpire was laughing. You are not suppose to play that shot against a seamer on this kind of track. What talent

India's top 3 is ageing. However, this being a decider, I back the great man to show up today and serve humble pies to his haters :inti

And to those who failed to predict who the great man was, well you just have to look at his performances in the deciders in past year or so.

Humble pies indeed :inti

England changing the rules to get Archer into the WC squad ahead of Willey is the only reason they just about won on boundary count :rabada2

This is the difference between Pant and your regular stats paddlers. When Pant scores, he plays match winning knocks. Brisbane, Manchester, Chennai...you name it and all from difficult situations.

And ignoramuses be like...he don't deserve to be in the white ball team :91:
