India is making efforts to annul the possible International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout package for Pakistan, Express News reported on Tuesday.

According to an international news organisation, Indian delegation held a meeting with IMF this week in Washington during which it opposed IMF’s bailout package for Pakistan. The Indian representatives also leveled allegations against Pakistan claiming that the bailout package would be used to fund militant activities.

New Delhi, in the past, had also levelled allegations against Islamabad without any evidence raising objections on the packages planned for Pakistan, however, these allegations were not taken into consideration.

Earlier, India had refused to attend the second meeting of the Belt and Road Forum to be held in China by hurling baseless allegations against Pakistan. China, however, rejected the allegations and asked India to review its decision.

On Saturday, newly appointed Adviser on Finance Dr Hafeez Shaikh discussed the progress on the impending bailout package with the IMF.

He held a telephonic conversation with IMF Mission Chief to Pakistan Ernesto Ramirez-Rigo, said a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance.

According to the press release, both the sides expressed their commitment to moving the discussions forward.

“It was agreed that an IMF mission will visit Pakistan by the end of April 2019,” the statement added.

Lol. What lies. India didnot attend the BRI summit as India isnt taking any doles from China. India opposes Chinese construction in PoK.Not because of some pakistani consipracy.

India is among top 10 contributors to IMF, it has a legal right to make its voice heard.

What a hoot. If India thinks IMF funds to Pakistan will fund militant activities, then why on god's given earth is India still trading with Pakistan? After all, the money profited from trade has to go somewhere, and according to Indians, it's militant camps! Stop trading with Pakistan India!

Thankfully the IMF thinks very little of India, especially after casting doubt on Indian GDP figures. Pity, India believes it has some muscle with the IMF, reality is there is no a political institution that pays heed to India's political plight!

Its really funny when deluded Pakistanis call others deluded. India has more than enough muscle to scuttle any IMF bailout to pak, but it really doesn't need to. As whichever idiot wrote the above column alongside spreading false information seems to not know that it isn't just India but USA who are also opposing the bailout. I suppose USA too are deluded non entity according to you.

Why hide behind what USA does? Provide links, this isn't an election where the masses will fall for nonsense.

I was referring to India, which doesn't have any political muscle.

India should quit trading with Pakistan if it is worried about where the funds are spent.

Read an article by a Pakistani economist where he prayed that the IMF refuses to bail Pakistan out, it will apparently force the Pakistani nation to live within their means. These IMF funds also come with strings attached which will be harmful for Pakistan's economy.

Who is hiding behind USA, I am stating a fact India isn't the biggest obstacle to a IMF bailout. Rather than stupid fake news and nonsensical demagoguery, the article should be stating facts.

i have just one question to the pak ppers here.

Indian media is rubbish according to you guys. Does pak media always states what is truth such as in this case?

US opposes IMF bailout of pakistan as it believes that money will be used to pay off chinese loans. So unless pakistan comes clean on them and fulfills IMF conditions no bailout is coming.

Pakistani ministers are crying hoarse that India will get Pak blacklisted in the FATF. India. Now this article. Pak govt is basically setting up the narrative that India stopped it, if they dont get the bailout.

Some of the posters here dont get the difference between the 5th largest economy in the world and the one which is begging for bailouts. Hence the dont know which country holds how much influence. They are just salty.

My view,
The Pakistan media is largely kept in check by the public.
The Pakistany public doesn’t fall for the blatant lies as evidenced in the last year or so.
This in turn makes at least some the Pakistany Media a reliable source of news.

Is this first imf bailout package for Pakistan? Why are india protesting now?why did not india took that decision earlier?.it seems 28 February whipping have woken up neighbor country .
