Wrong, that all changed with the Iranian revolution. Hyper sectarian Iran under the Shia regime has always sought and made alliances with all it's major sunni neighbors/rivals in the region and Pakistan was no exception. Iran was openly and actively supporting a Shia revolutionary movement in Pakistan which was only banned a few years ago along with a bunch of other terrorist organizations.
Iran's support of India and neutrality on Kashmir issue has been a hallmark of it's foreign policy throughout the 80's, 90's '00's up to now...There was a reason India had been buying Iran's oil all these years... nobody does anyone any free favors, particularly not the followers of Chanakya in Indian establishment...
But now India's baap has read the marching order to it and so it's being forced to betray it's friend Iran..
It just goes to show
