I am not getting why there is so much bragging about this 11-0 streak , India is undefeated in last 8 series and we are not making any fuss about it.

I dont even remember those series. I think i am not one. Just not important

It will be still useless for us , we Indian never prefer T-20 accept IPL . More of us are interested in test series.

Of course you are interested otherwise you wouldn't have created this thread. Pakistan is proud of their streak as its important for us.

Who cares ? I think t20 series should stop. Only WC t20 tournament should be played on international level. T20 should only be for leagues. It was first time I watched complete IPL this year and there was much more energy , much more quality matches. I would any day prefer a CSK vs MI match over India vs Australia T20 series

I created this thread because I read someone comment in that 11-0 streak thread that India is also undefeated in last 8 series and I have no clue about that as I follow cricket a lot. And I bet many Indian are in the same position otherwise this thread would be posted earlier.

lol, what a thread. Now people will complain about why we are enjoying the 11- 0 series winning streak.

This is getting ridiculously hilarious. :)))

This is actually a news for me that India is undefeated for 8 T20 series and it's not even on any discussion on Indian Cricket forum

Next they will complain, "we also love cricket but we dont make a big successful forum like Pakpassion for it".

Look Pakistan and India fan priorities and preferences are diverging over the last decade.

When it comes to international cricket involving Pakistan it is still widely followed in Pakistan and winning is important for fans. Our professional T20 league is not mature enough to supersede their national T20 team.

From my interactions with Indians at my workplace they aseem to be more interested in IPL than most other bilateral series except perhaps against Pakistan which is not going to happen anytime soon.

This thread is to show the people like you the worth of 11-0. Of course you should enjoy this streak I am just want to put the preference of two countries .

That is how it is for elite teams that are ranked in the top three in Tests and ODIs.

Agree. Anyday I will prefer IPL then bilateral t-20. And I am not much a fan of Ind-pak series but defeating BD is always funny and match against them is more competitive than Pakistan. It's just a single Indian thought.

I admit this is truth. Indians do prefer IPL over any T20 series

11 T20 series wins don't come by fluke. It's a good achievement. Absolutely no disrespect intended, but the problem is that most fans and cricketers don't take T20 cricket seriously. I considered our World T20 victory back in 2007 a joke back then, and I still do it till today. The only satisfying thing for me as a fan in that tournament is that we defeated Pakistan. A loss against Pakistan in any format hurts me.

Come out of fool paradise. Cricket is not popular as you seems in India. It is popular in North India but when I move to South, people prefer football and batminton over cricket. In East only football and athletic. I myself a TT player,I follow cricket it's bcz I am so much inspired by virat Kohli . Now comes to making platform like PP , then for ur information I am a software engineer live in Bangalore and anybody here can make platform like this, but it's not worth bcz people are not so much mad about cricket accept few like me. I wanted to thank PP for this platform to let me express my view but platform like this will not gonna work in India. We are sadly and slowly moving to football crazy nation and it's shows in our improvement in ranking. So please don't brag about this platform , it's both Indian and Pakistan that make this platform interesting.

We have played really well.

But, there is a huge difference between "UNDEFEATED" and "WINS".

Let them celebrate, I don't understand why our fans are feeling the heat.

We are at the top in Tests, T20Is and ODIs and we're happy. They're at the top in T20Is, let them do whatever they want.

What is or is not important is not defined by what India does in it. If India fans dont care about their side's wins then so be it - great for them.

Agree with you. I just wanted to compare the prefernces between the nation. We are loosing interest in cricket and slowly moving to other sports specially football.

People also don't care because it's less than Pakistan's and so therefore isn't the biggest winning streak in the format

:))) :))) :)))

Yeah right. "How dare we gave worth to this achievement."

T20 requires variety, competition and intensity! That's why league format where mixing of teams/players are more successful... Also most teams don't play their full strength teams in these T20 tour series or rather don't take them seriously! Probably Pakistan takes it too seriously and plays their best team! Pakistan should prove their supremacy in world cups!

And same people come running to defend T20 as the most popular format when we compare with Tests.

Cricket is still popular in south! But they are opening up to various other sports and various other entertainment means! This is also spreading to north! South is far more advanced to North in terms of intelligence & culture! North only has political powers (that's why they have occupied so many business sectors even in south!)

Yes, the same football where India is ranked a mind-boggling 97? No other sport can replace cricket in India, so stop lying.

What the heck :virat . Not related to my post.

I agree...T20 internationals are a waste of space, only World Cup matters.

As for IPL, only watched the first season...not interested.

Ill start again, of course, if there is an emotional investment...i.e. Pakistani players.

Wasn't aware of this stat. India should be happy with going unbeaten for that long. But they must be more interested in the results in ODIs and tests.

To be honest, the WT20 and the IPL are the only T20 tournaments that matter. Bilateral T20 cricket and other leagues cannot match their hype and fanfare.

Russia also rank mind-boggling 82 before WC and still make it to quater defeating one of the best team. I still wanted to believe this .Cricket is still popular in North and perception of cricket popular in whole India changes after moving to banglore (South) . Anyway I always wanted India to be cricket nation.

No one cares in india. T20 is just for entertainment. If you have good contest and game people are happy and no one really cares that much on loss of t20 match like odis or tests. I don't even remember which last 8 series wins were lol and who cares. We have to win odi & test series in Australia and that's what matters.

Don't worry, India is and will always be a cricket crazy nation. It's the financial aspect which gives cricket an upper hand over other sports and is unlikely to change in the near future. The same applies to Pakistan as well.

You were taking about South and North! There are strong cricket academies in South (Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai. Probably Kerala is an exception) Just because other sports are getting stronger doesn't mean that there is no interest in cricket (you were telling as if people are not interested in cricket! There are many South Indians even in this forum) Even Australia/England have lot of other sports which have much bigger canvas than India, that doesn't mean that they have lost interest in cricket!

Please go through my post again. I never says Indian lost interest in cricket. The popularity is always hyped because in North many follows crcicket and the poplation is so huge that we feel all Indian follow crciket . I agree that in South cricket is still followed but not the level what I thought. I hardly see nay conversation about cricket in South, they seems more interested in football. In east it's always football and athelatics.

Bragging about not being interested in cricket on a cricket forum. Um... okay.

If tests are most important then there should be real outcry over the 4-1 humiliation in England but all was forgiven and forgotten??

Bragging about not being interested in cricket on a cricket forum. Um... okay.

Look I am a die hard fan of cricket till kohli is playing. I want a fair discussion about india 8-0 streak and why many fans like me are unaware about this (my reason I followed test crciket more.)

Mamoon is absolutely Spot on here.

International T20s have little to no significance unless they its world t20.

I wasn't aware that we had won 8 lol. Bilateral T20's are the least followed games in India I suppose. I mean im sure there are people who watch it but nobody remembers them. I was shocked to know that India had the highest W/L ratio among all teams in it20's. :O I was always under the impression that we were terrible in this format.

We didn't win 8 Nikhil_cric bro, rather didn't lose 8. There is a huge difference in it.

Some more food for thought....

======

Kieron Pollard looked at his marauding best at the nets, as West Indies had an optional training session at the Eden Gardens on Friday. Those who turned up at the ground were the team’s new arrivals, the T20 specialists.

Usually, during the practice days in the lead-up to an international fixture at Eden, fans magnify the noise level outside the stadium. They gather to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars. Mobile phone cameras go into overdrive. Today, the whole atmosphere was unusually quiet, so much so that after the practice session, when Pollard came and stood in front of the stadium gate, hardly anybody noticed.

West Indies are the defending World T20 champions, but the first T20 international here on Sunday could well be a damp squib, turnout-wise. According to a Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) insider, the state association is struggling to distribute even the free tickets for this game.

“We have 25,000-odd members; life members, associate members and annual members combined. So far, only a little over 8,000 members have collected their tickets. It won’t be a packed house,” said the CAB functionary.

The CAB has 15,000 free tickets for this game, membership and complimentary passes combined. The quota is yet to be exhausted. As for priced tickets, two days before the T20 series opener, still more than 12,000 tickets are available. “One doesn’t see a turnout of more than 40,000 even if ticket sales pick up the pace over the next two days,” said the CAB functionary. Eden Gardens has a capacity of a little over 66,000.

Ahead of the limited-overs leg of the West Indies’s ongoing tour of India, complimentary passes became a serious bone contention between the Committee of Administrators (CoA) and the staging centres. The state associations had stuck to their guns that they couldn’t restrict their quota of complimentary tickets to just 10 per cent of the total seating capacity of the stadium as per the new BCCI constitution. “…all sponsor and other free allotments shall in no event being more than 10% of the entire seating capacity,” says the Rule 37(8) of the new BCCI constitution. But the host associations put their foot down. The second ODI moved to Vizag from Indore after the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association declined to host the game over the complimentary passes row.

Then, CAB president Sourav Ganguly told this paper about not “compromising” on the distribution of complimentary tickets for the T20 opener. The CoA accordingly decided to reduce the BCCI’s share of complimentary tickets to half – from 1,200 to 604. The Committee also excluded membership tickets from the complimentary passes bracket. But as things stand now, there appears to be hardly any takers for the Sunday’s match.

A CAB member blamed it on the BCCI/selection committee for omitting the two biggest stars from the Indian T20 squad. “The CAB is getting this match on rotation. At the same time, the BCCI is not giving us a full-strength Indian side. Kohli and Dhoni are the game’s box office. So the BCCI needs to decide if this series, against the world champions, is important or not. Also, this game is happening in the middle of the festive season, when the purchasing power of people is not that much. And the Indian team is shorn of stardust,” he said.

There’s another school of thought that the T20 internationals in India should follow the IPL with regard to pricing of tickets. Tickets for this game are priced at Rs 650, Rs 1,300 and Rs 1,900. The lowest denomination for a Kolkata Knight Riders game at Eden is Rs 500.

“Like it or not, the IPL has set the benchmark of stadium attendance for T20 matches. We can’t have the pricing beyond the IPL. For a three-hour game, Rs 650 for a top-tier ticket is a little too expensive,” the member opined.

CAB joint-secretary Avishek Dalmiya, however, hoped that ticket sales would pick up in the next two days. “So far we have sold 17,000 tickets and the CAB hopes that in the days ahead the number would increase, because it’s also a weekend. We hope that we would have a decent turnout (on Sunday),” Dalmiya told The Indian Express.

Meanwhile, weather forecast, too, is not very bright. A drizzle on Friday evening delayed the start of the Jagmohan Dalmiya Annual Conclave.

Thank you!!! Was just wondering why hadn't anybody said this yet

We didn't won 8 series , it's 7 won and one draw.

Why open such threads, if Pakistani fans take pride in 11-0 let them. If Indian fans don't bother about 8-0, their problem. One can't dictate how others should care or feel about something, everybody has different view points, different inspiration and diverging avenues for obtaining happiness/pride/peace of mind. If people want to celebrate successes which don't resonate with others, why begrudge them?

Because nobody on this forum care about Indian records apart from some Indian cheerleaders from Pakistani side.

Most of us are Pakistanis here so its natural that we will support Pakistan and matches in which Pakistani players represent us rather than Franchise t20s. We get happy when we win and get sad when we lose. For us National team matter more than franchise t20s.

Plus its not all about point scoring for us, we enjoy cricket and appreciate good cricket from Indian side aswell but for us Pakistan comes first so its obvious we will care about our achievements and records more as its a majority Pakistani forum, no?

You know the answer.

This chest thumping over meaningless bilateral T20 ONLY ONLY happens in PAK.

Nobody gives a DAMN or cares about rankings of T20s. The only exception is the World T20, when teams play their game and teams.

Apart from that, the only country in the cricketing world that goes into wild celebrations over T20 win is of course, Pak. The quality of your cricket team is judged from T20s here.

Not even minnows chest thump over T20s! West Indies too, the T20 specialists, don't care about it outside the World T20 or CPL.

Surely we're the new minnows in LOI cricket when we're absolute trash in ODIs and Tests too.

No one is talking about it because they don't have the record or haven't beaten it. If India is to beat Pakistan record of most consecutive t20 wins than they will be more people caring about it

They also did not care about Asia cup :yk2:yk2.Some posters have been having hard times we can understand their pain.

Beautiful post :)

I really couldn't understand the op. Why take unnecessary dig at Pakistani fans? Ab hamain tum batao gai k kab khush hona hai kab nahi?

This is why all T20 matches are near house full lol.
In all honesty all international matches are far more interesting and valuable then Tamasha matches where players only have loyalty to cheques. Pak has never been a good ODI side but we still have won many important competitions in that format. So it's not as we do not care about ODIs. Where most Pak fans are rightly chest thumping about T20s, they also bemoan about our pathetic performances in ODIs. Regardless of downfall in test ranking due to some abnormal performance against Sri Lanka and West Indies Pak have produced no worse performance than other great teams do away from home. So I for one have thoroghly enjoyed Pak's dominance in the T20s and looked forward to last match against NZ even though it is dead rubber.

Also difference is Pak is ranked 1 as well not just 11 undefeated series. When we were ranked no 1 in tests we were told no one watches tests it's dying format. And currently we are ranking low in tests all of sudden it has become the only one that matters. Truth is in future only T20s type cricket will survive so it is juts as important to excel and achieve in this.

They're the most attended format indeed, because it's of short duration.

And provides good time pass entertainment.

But teams or their skills, quality, are not judged on T20s. There's a reason why even Pakistanis trash talk West Indies and call them T20 mercenaries.

How are we different? We're not. We're horrible in ODIs and now Tests too.

The only consolation and some relief for me would be if we win the South Africa ODI series. That's going to be our real litmus test.

In Tests, we're going to get thrashed.

Pakistans wins Champions Trophy: Just a fluke, look at ODI ranking

Pakistan ranked Number 1 in tests: Just a fluke, it happened, we'll be number 7 again, main thing is how many series are won abroad

Pakistan ranked Number 5 in tests but doing better than India in England: Ranking matters, not the series that are won abroad

Pakistan ranked Number 1 in T20's: Ranking doesn't matter, bilateral tournaments do

T20 bilaterals are a waste of time.Only useful for trying out newcomers.Only T20s of any value are WCT20 and IPL.

People still care for Cricket more than any other sport
And football got popular in South because of ISL,before that hardly anyone cared
Whenever new leagues have started in India it has attracted crowd for 1st few editions but later people lost interest because of low quality
The viewership of Football leagues is good but even Kabaddi league has more reach than the ISL since the last season

Only people who really care for football in India are from Bengal who have 2 clubs with some history ,rest are more into European football and they are mainly showoffs
And you are also wrong on North India being interested only in Cricket
Just because Northies don't care about football where India isn't even competitive at the continental level doesn't mean they care only about cricket
Cricket isn't the most followed sport in Haryana
They are more into physical sports and in Shooting
Most of the international medals come from that state and population of Haryana is just 2cr which is much lesser than many other states
.
Now coming back to the topic, why we don't care about t20i wins like Pakistan?
It's because Pakistan were having bad time before the streak started
So the T20i streak would mean much more to them than the teams who were Performing better
Even when they talk about made more than our fans do
Because we have won it quite a few times whereas Pak has won just once

Similarly When India whitewashed Aus in the t20i series in 2016 the series win was celebrated by some of our fans
It was because we were going through bad phase back then
In 2015-16 we had lost Odi series against BD in BD & vs SA at home and then we lost 1-4 to Aus in the odi series
So we needed to win something
And I myself was never more interested in bilateral t20is before that
If we whitewash Aus again in the t20i series now, our fans won't care much about it because India is now in better form than we were in 2015-16 and Aus is also much weaker compared to what they were in 2015-16.

For us Indians, only WT20 and IPLs are important. So, these streaks don't matter.

Here, I am only talking about Indians. So, it is not necessarily the same for others. However, there are many non-Indian cricketers as well and for them also, IPLs matter more than 1-2 bilateral T20s they plays after playing 3-4 test+ 5 ODI series.

No one cares because there's a team with a much more impressive record than them. No one cares who's second best.

T20 bilaterals are a waste of time.Only useful for trying out newcomers.Only T20s of any value are WCT20 and IPL.

Why IPL it is just a circus with no loyalties no national pride from players, only performing at the tunes of cash. It may matter to Indians not rest of the world. International games will always have value as it shows progress of a country in sports.
So lately Pak have not done bad they also won ODI championship and had achieved no 1 test ranking. Now we need to return to top 5 ranking in the other 2 and then top 3.

Not at all. Anyone with a proper working brain who saw that tournament would know that Pakistan won it fair and square on merit. They dominated the tournament bar their first match against India.

India still have a long long way to go to become a football crazy team. There is a bit of craze for soccer in West Bengal, Kerala and few other cities in south but still cricket is currently by far the biggest craze as far as whole country is believed.

However, I also believe once India, on a whole, starts performing very well in football on an international level, the craze will shift from cricket to football all round the country. But for that to happen, it will still take around 20-25 years of working and until India becomes a top 25-30 ranked team in soccer, that is not going to happen.

Why IPL it is just a circus with no loyalties no national pride from players, only performing at the tunes of cash. It may matter to Indians not rest of the world. International games will always have value as it shows progress of a country in sports.

IPL is a brutal compressed high pressure tournament, its very competitive with huge pressure from fans and franchise owners. Moreover its popular because of regional loyalties as well. Finally it showcases our young talent.
Agreed on pakistan's progress.Good luck.

Hypocrisy is unbelievable. Even when we wins tests like against Aus at home recently or against England away it gets devalued. London is capital of Pakistan so it does matter. LOL Aus had players missing
. When we play and hopefully beat NZ Test A there will be another excuse coming - - - stay tuned.

India’s last 32 T20 matches:

Won 22
Lost 10

Pakistan’s last 32 T20 matches

Won 28
Lost 4

Along with that Pak is ranked no 1 and has achieved highest ever points in history of T20 international rankings.

But, but T20 rankings dont matter... :hasan2

Thanks. TBH IPL for a neutral like me it's such a bore as foreign players have no real association with teams and many players change teams season by season . And at the end of the day who cares which region from India wins from non Indians. Similarly I do not care who wins in PSL. Just watch odd match to see upcoming talent but care little for results.

Also just to mention one of the lost match was against ZIM in 2016.

But Indians do not care about bilateral T20s so it does not matter. I suppose there will be no intensity from Indian players for this pointless match. And no tension or preasure from Indian fans.

I am not getting why there is so much bragging about this 11-0 streak , India is undefeated in last 8 series and we are not making any fuss about it.

You forgot to mention that two out of those 8 were drawn. Here we are talking abt 11-0 winning streak. :salute

I created this thread because I read someone comment in that 11-0 streak thread that India is also undefeated in last 8 series and I have no clue about that as I follow cricket a lot. And I bet many Indian are in the same position otherwise this thread would be posted earlier.

You created this thread because you are desperate for india to catch up.. no bull straight up & if you say otherwise then .. i’ll Tell the jokes..

I didn't know India had won 8 straight series or Pakistan had won 11 until today :))
