India receiving a humbling in Sydney in the 3rd Test vs Australia

To be fair it was real humbling, I wrote the Indians off after all the injuries but this Indian F side could not be beat by a full strength Aussie side. It is humbling indeed.

As long as you put an asterix against many India's loses on history

Why still the pretense though? Every person here knows you are not Indian, why keep pretending?

Asterisks is the invention of intelligent fans. Should ask ICC to induct it in stats. One * for one first choice player missing. 2 * for 2 first choice players missing, and so on. Will add context to matches.

Test cricket at it's best!

India has just bundled out to a meakley 244 on what's touted as the batting paradise! No matter how you try to cover it but it's an incredibly disappointed performance by the "best batting line up in the world".

Australia batsmen will now come out all guns blazing and India is set to face a huge humbling loss in this match! It's humbling because we saw what happened after Pakistan got smashed by New Zealand in the last test. :kp

So that is that. With the dead bat of Vihari, your dream of seeing india getting humbled is dead as well.
Looks like you have received a humbling and are now hiding somewhere.
Hopefully, you have learnt now to not count your chickens before they are hatched.

On Topic: Mighty proud of our team and the heart and character that they displayed.

This was an already weakened Indian team who m
Lost jadeja, their most valuable player in first half.

Not only that, they had 4 run outs and the fielders dropped catches.

India drew comfortably in the end. This makes it a remarkable achievement.

The crazy thing is that if rohit did not throw his wicket away india could have chased this down. (to make it fair I won't mention pants brilliance as he was dropped 2 times)

Also consider most of the 1st day was rained out

Tim Paine to Ashwin : can't wait for you to get to the Gabba

Ashwin: can't wait for you to get to India. It'll be your last tour

:))

This is one of the funniest and best replies to an Australian player, along with the James Ormond "At least I'm the best player in my family" reply to Mark Waugh.

This thread backfired real fast. Lol

Sorry but "competing" doesn't cut it.

There are no marks for showing up on the field.

Weird how a 2-1 overseas win in Aus can be criticized because a couple of HOME players were missing (banned after cheating) but when a team loses after 6-7 main injured players are missing, it doesnt cut it

Stay on topic and dont get personal. I am tired of deleting posts every 10 seconds. Have some mercy on my soul.

It is not about winning always. But draws getting celebrated as an achievement.

Not sure uf you watched it. This is already being touted as one of the great fightbacks.

This wasn't some high scoring mind numbing affair. It was a see saw game that one was never sure of till the last 5 balls on the fifth day.

It had drama, hostiity, fightbacks, stoicism, technique and grit. And it was a heck of a watch.

A great game, to be celebrated.

Nothing humbling about an honourable draw in an away match when missing their batting champion.

More than kaptaans admittedly decent batting, we missed 2 of our starting pacers and jadeja in second inning.

Players we are missing apart from Kohli

Fast Bowlers - Ishant, Shami, Yadav, Jadeja in 2nd innings. They would have restricted Aussies to less for sure

Batsmen - Jadeja. We didnt push for a win after Pujara's dismissal because Jadeja had a broken hand. Vihari hamstring injury so he couldn't take runs. Both Pant and Vihari played on heavy doses of painkillers
Ashwin has a sprained back and he couldnt even sit during the breaks

standards must be really low if draws started getting celebrated. India should have won this.

Some so called test cricket lovers being exposed big time. Every single media and expert is singing praises but people who ranted about t20 and claimed to love test don't see the importance of a fighting draw against arguably the best bowling attack with multiple players with broken bones and on painkillers

Please correct the title Asian team drawing a Test in SENA without 5 first choice players is not a humbling

Are you talking about IPL fans here who claimed that T20 Leagues should be played all year long, leagues are the future and tests will die? Weren't you jumping up and down like a desperate little baby when BCCI added two more IPL teams and when I said that some players should skip IPL to remain fit for Australian tour you didn't say anything.

And speaking of tests I have never seen you active here when the test matches are going on but you are pretty active whenever IPL is happening. Why is it so? Why are you doing this nautanki of being a true test fan here?

Also it is funny to see that you were the same guy who was treating this Australian tour as a formality, putting it below IPL in UAE and now you are the one taking shots at T20 lovers but hypocritically excluding yourself lol. :inti

Gritty stuff from India to comfortably bat out the day despite severely injured players out there. This thread, like many schadenfreude threads, end with eggs on the OP's face.

Yeah talk nah.

w00t back to back series win in Aus!

I am baffled why India is smashed in England. How is England harder for them?

Our batsmen are weak against swing. Still 2018 series scoreline didn't reflect how close the series was, could easily have been 3-1 or 4-1 in favor of India. We lost all 5 tosses and missed important players due to injury. I expect us to do much better this year.

The last series vs England was closer than the final score suggested - Kohli needed one another batsman to stand up & they didnt. Lets see what happens next time around.

Have you finally learned your lesson?

Indeed. No excuses. What a top notch performance. The Indian team and its fans should be proud of this achievement. Something we can only dream of pulling off in Australia. It also says a lot about the Australian team.

Didn't this Australia team just a year ago smoke nz by 200+ runs in every game of the series?

Kohli's dumb captaincy and team selection cost them in 2018.

Not playing Pujara in the 1st Test, two spinners on a wet pitch at Lord's and repeatedly letting England recover from 80-6 was criminal.

However I suspect this summer will be different.

Let's not forget that while rest of the batsmen meekly surrendered Kohli alone kept fighting, the overall result would look quite different if other batsmen showed some spine. Not saying he didn't make selection errors but solely blaming that for the series loss is quite illogical sorry to say.

True blame did deserve to go around, but the team selections were shocking. A 3-2 win was for the taking.

The toss did play huge factor in 2018 series. We lost all 5 tosses

But still we had good chance of winning 1st & 4th test matches

the atmosphere Kohli creates is only good for him. Every singlr player from Pujara to Pant feels inseucre. He has publicly attacked both. Its not a coincidence that they can't play freely under him

Today again shashtri took potshots at Pant, said he is our overseas specialist match winner (as if he was tried at home) and said one match he plays like this, next match he drops catches. This after the innings he played today

Kohli(and by proxy Shashtri) has very clear favorites and everyone else will feel insecure under him

A case of counting your chicken before it gets hatched.

Anyways, it was a pretty honourable draw with some special batting from Pant and Pujara combination that day and then again at Gabba.

We know how India came back from this humiliation so England better be prepared!

When you ascend so high, you need to drop like a stone to reach the level of everyone else. Otherwise, how can you compete with them :)

These lows are becoming commonplace with this team but the absolute highs they climb are so exhilarating, it's almost like you just feel like casually waving away the thrashings. You could say we're becoming the mythical Pakistan. But with more talent :cobra

I prefer this any day over the consistent and boring machine that the team was morphing into. It's not like that consistency was winning us any global tournament, so of what use was it. Even the team looks like they don't care once the thrashing begins. Like yesterday by the time Rohit got out, you could see Virat sitting in the balcony almost like - ok this is done, what team do I pick for the next game.

Or
The script could go wrong for a complacent Indian side.

Having watched back the highlights of Eng batting in their 1st innings on Day 1, think this test is not yet in their pockets. India were terrible in the field, with no zest or interest. The bowling when it was switched on could have easily snapped up a few wickets. Pitch looks flat but the bowlers if they turn up today are good enough to bowl England out. Remember, England have to bat last :) A Rohit-Kohli masterpiece in the 2nd innings could see England struggling to save the game :afridi

perhaps but right now I am trying hard to recall Rohit-Kohli Masterpiece. has been so long

Pujara is looking good. The last time he had this type of tone to his innings was in Australia and though he didn't get the big scores, we won and he had an important role.

Things looking up :asad1

If India manage to draw this game ... it would be a big miracle .. i.e; not happening ..

Well India is the only team that can make miracles possible. They are the diamond in the dust. One of a kind team that is loaded with match winners. We are blessed to see such a superior team on display today.
