Sunil narine will be licking his lips.

7th bowler used by MS today. UV and Kohli can also bowl. That's 9 bowlers at disposal when playing on placid tracks.

India is the new SL of sub continent.

pitch is pathetic. Cracks and low bounce and will deteriorate further.

Windies only has one spinner, Narine. The pacers will have a horrid time bowling against Dhawan and Rohit as both are on the form of their life. Windies needs to score 300+ to fire up the legend :kohli anything under 300, :kohli will retire himself out and let jadeja and Ashwin have some practice :asif

Shameful on part of curator/responsible officials.
Pitch is just awful.

For some reason I am simply not able to get up the enthusiasm for watching another JAMODI.

I have tried browsing through commentaries, through this thread, but just feeling like it's not worth the effort.

It probably isn't even. :)

On the contrary, the ashes match day 1 was phenomenal through cricinfo commentaries and I was "slightly aggravated" that I couldnt watch it live.

(Wow ... we have a pretty aggressive word filter active here. I used something that I never imagined was considered objectionable. But I guess better to err on the side of caution.)

"Everyone talks about the rules not helping bowlers, are pitches prepared to help bowlers?"

Anything you put on the board is a good score on this pitch. Batsmen can adjust to the ball stopping on them but how does one account for deliveries that suddenly keep so low? It will be a tough examination for the Indian batsmen.

WI must believe that they can win the match. They have put up good total on this pitch.

Keshav Seshadri: "Looks like no team is able to figure how to select teams to win across all three formats. WI clearly can't pack a punch in anything except T20s, India have got their ODI and T20 squads figured out but still have to show what they can do in tests abroad, Aus have also got good limited overs players but are struggling in tests after Hussey, SL have two aging stars keeping them afloat in all 3 formats, but don't look like posing problems in tests, Eng have got a great test side but are never going to win an ODI World Cup unless they respect the format more, SA are the only team who can win all three formats with the same team, but are still not sure of how to win limited over ICC events, Pak can't bat and will always struggle to dominate against sides on good batting pitches. Time for more specialists for each format. Only greats can be matchwinners in all three forms."

We'll get home rather easily.. boring match! Aren't there any good teams left?

Should have rested :msd and :kohli

when was the last time :msd was given a rest. the guy is the terminator of India

Kohli should come in at 6 for the heck of it.. Let Raina and Yuvraj get some time in the middle..

It won't be as easy as you guys are sounding it out to be. Narine would be handful on this pitch.

So Dhawan and Rohit miss the 1st chance to break WR of 7 100+ opening partnerships in ODIs in a calender year.

Previous record belonged to Tendulkar and Ganguly who had 6 100+ partnerships for opening wickets in 2007.

Never knew both of them as opening pair were that successful so late in their career.

"Is Shikhar Dhawan's purple patch slowly turning brown like a litmus paper. Have to wait till the SA series till it turns yellow-mellow."

Is it, I doubt it.

He played quite well in Ind-Aus series. Got some goodish scores in the test series against WI. Of course, you can't expect anyone to score 50+ in every game they play.

Sachin tendular take 5 wicket 2 time in Kochi
one against australia and other against pak
