West Indies (254/6) outclass Zimbabwe (147) by 107 runs to register a landslide victory in Super Eight of T20 World Cup 2026

Don’t see SA losing at modi stadium vs WI . So WI vs India likely a quarter final

SA definitely qualifying , it’s shoot out now between WI and Ind.
High chance but still they can knockout if they lose against WI ,

You never know how they perform in a must win game against Zimbabwe knowing choking history.

India are playing their last Super-8 match against Zimbabwe and know what they need to do to qualify.

SA not losing to WI or Zim . Only Pakistan can stop them at premadasa 🤭

Shimron Hetmyer blasted a sensational 85 from just 34 deliveries as the West Indies cricket team kicked off their T20 World Cup Super 8 campaign with a commanding 107-run win over the Zimbabwe national cricket team.

Hetmyer smashed seven fours and seven sixes, combining elegance with brute force at a staggering strike rate of 250, powering West Indies to an imposing 254-6. The left-hander from Guyana was handed two reprieves by Tashinga Musekiwa on nine and 70 before eventually falling to a deep mid-wicket catch by Brian Bennett off veteran spinner Graeme Cremer.

Skipper Rovman Powell accelerated after a cautious start, hammering 59 off 35 balls, while useful late contributions from Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd and Jason Holder added further momentum.

West Indies’ 254-6 became the second-highest total in T20 World Cup history, behind Sri Lanka national cricket team’s 260-6 against Kenya in 2007. It proved a difficult outing for Zimbabwe’s bowlers, with Cremer (economy 9.50) the only one to concede fewer than 10 runs per over.

Chasing a daunting target at Wankhede Stadium — where no team had previously hunted down more than 230 in T20 internationals or the IPL — Zimbabwe quickly stumbled. Akeal Hosein removed Bennett for five before dismissing Ryan Burl for a duck three balls later, leaving the Chevrons struggling at 20-3 in the third over.

Fellow left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie tore through the middle order, finishing with 4-28, beginning with a superb delivery to dismiss Dion Myers for 28.

With the contest long decided, Brad Evans added late resistance, smashing five sixes in a spirited 43 off 21 balls. He and Richard Ngarava put together a World Cup record 10th-wicket partnership of 44 to reduce the margin of defeat.

If SA is clever, they’ll lose to windies close, then smash Zimbabwe and kick host out, which they wont have to face in the final.

Most of the matches were close in the normal groups. The super 8s arrive and the matches have become super one sided. What kind of sorcery is this?

If SA is clever, they’ll lose to windies close, then smash Zimbabwe and kick host out, which they wont have to face in the final.

That match will be kind of quarter final. Whoever wins it will have a higher chance to make it to the semi-final. Still feel that only one of WI/RSA will make it to the semi. Unless Zimbabwe pull an all-timer miracle, the hosts will make it to the semis.

That's what we call a hammering.

Looking forward to the RSA vs Windies game on Thursday. Should be a real cracker

SA will not loose to Zim 🤣

Our Zimbabwean brothers are used to playing in the calm atmospheres of Bulawayo, the chilled environment of Lahore and the soothing territory of Colombo. Coming to a chaotic and unwelcoming mumbai was a step too far for them.

Exactly they were looking stunned

WI & SA will be fine with one close loss & just one victory. It will be Ind under pressure to win BIG in its next game, not just win. Zim will not be able to pummel any of the 2 teams, but can win a close game.
