Zimbabwe (169/2) stun Australia (146) with 23-run triumph in match 19 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026

Almost every Australian plays in IPL and they are paid so much like that green crybaby is most expensive IPL player ever.
This is a joke a big joke.

Zampa gone.

Now this is become tricky group.

Australia, SL and Zimbabwe . SL need to win against Australia and Zimbabwe needs to win against SL.

Hazlewood , Starc and Cummins - trio did not play in The Champion trophy but played in the IPL.

Same here , they are more interested about IPL than ICC event's.

:klopp :kp

They haven't done well against Spin but it was the Zimbabwe pacers brought them to their knees.
Zimbabwe pacers made use of the slowness of the pitch. It's not like they were bowling 140+. Australia struggled to cope with the lack of pace and lack of bounce

Didn't watch or follow the match until the last 2 or so overs.

Muzarabani disrespect is insane. Man is a top class bowler, just plays for a weak team. Brad Evans is someone who is an old school seam up fast bowler.

Both of these should be picked in the PSL. They still have the chance to get Muzarabani in at United after the issue with Shamar Joseph. A perfect replacement

Brad Evans, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava, Brian Bennett

these guys are some serious players who don't get enough respect. They are very underrated

100% agree. Zimbabwe has a decent core if you add Burl & Sikander into the mix as well. It's just that the other players don't often pull up their weight so the team ends up losing more than it wins.

If Australia want some inspiration they should look no further than the team who just thrashed them 3-0 a few weeks ago. Pakistan lost to Zimbabwe in 2022 too and still made the final.

Anything is possible, Australia. Just believe in yourself. One team has shown it can be done:afridi1

Congratulations to Zimbabwe.

Australia will find it difficult now to qualify for Super 8's as they have beat hosts Sri Lanka.

They did it due to Netherlands . It was a crap t20 team lead by bobbzy

Raza is world-class and does get respect which is why I didn't mention him. Burl can be hit or miss but when he delivers he delivers big. He was the guy at the center of Zimbabwe's last win against Australia in ODIs back in 2022

You know they can do it still. It's Australia. zimbros could also lose spectuarly against Ireland. The group is an exciting one for sure.

For the time it wasn't a bad side because back then other teams were not playing T20 cricket the way they are now. I think only England were which is why they won the tournament

The funny thing is that Zimbabwe were playing without one of their front-line seamers Ricard Ngarava, who is one of their most important players :kp @Nikhil_cric

Still beat Aussies handily.
SSC has had the most bounce out of all World T20 venues and poor Omani batsmen had to face this trio(tallest attack in the competition) on that wicket. It was a bloodbath.

If these guys qualify for the Super 8 group in SL, their seam attack will cause problems for all opponents in that group

How underdog teams are doing so good in this edition of World Cup
Conditions have brought the skill-sets close together, this World Cup hasn't been a batting shoot-out that most T20 bilaterals are.

Batting prowess on such pitches has gone for a toss from the top teams, the likes of Australia and England rely completely on hitting boundaries which will not work on sticky pitches against half decent bowlers.

Zimbabwe will find it difficult to not make it to the Super 8s now. It's between Australia and the hosts now as to who makes it.

I think if they qualify, its mostly in place of aus .then zim may play in india .sl has to beat aus to knock them out firmly.

SL most probably will qualify, I see Australia missing out the way they are playing.

2007 T20 World Cup - Zimbabwe beat Australia.

2026 T20 World Cup - Zimbabwe beat Australia.

2007 Champions - TEAM INDIA
2026 Champions - ⁉️

Let's see. I don't rate this SL bowling attack especially without Hasaranga. I'm not sure they can stop Australian batsmen in Pallekele. Zimbabwe's seamer have been devastating in Colombo and that's where SL are playing ZIM. SL will have to play out of their skins

Zimbabwe seamers in this WC (by length)
Full (Less than 6m):
4/21, 23 balls, ER: 5.47
Good (6-8m): 2/18, 32 balls, ER: 3.37
Short (More than 8m): 10/57, 67 balls, ER: 5.10
