Zaheer is an outstanding bowler, Munaf generally bowls a very good line and length and on the sub-continent pitches, there will probably be some support for the spinners and Bhajji and Chawla (there are also Yusuf Pathan, Yuvraj) are quite good. So our bowling is not as bad as its made out to be.

I'm still in shock from Australia's collapse from 118 to 1. Can't believe it's Australia who've done that too. Definitely the mental strength associated with Australia in the past is being lost.

Australia are new South Africa. They seem to choke a lot. Especially against India. They lost that test match against India when Laxman won it in company of Ishant Sharma.

But they lift their game up when they play pakistan. Like that world cup match when Hussey anhiliated Ajmal and his mates.

yes. still check your stats. India won against australia in australia. This was when Gilchrist,hayden, Symonds were also around. They also had Lee, Johnson too. Some guy called tendulkar hammered Ausies properly in 2 finals. Also "express" slowness of Praveen Kumar blew them away. They just couldn't cope with his subtle variations.. Good job he is injured otherwise Australia would have been bundled for less then 100.

If I remember rightly last time pakistan visited australia they lost every single match. Even possibly against first class teams.. I think its reflected in Pakistan's current test and ODI rankings.

Australia's phhassst bowlers weren't able to win it for them on fast bouncy australian pitches. But india had super slow trio of Irfan pathan, Sri santh and Praveen kumar.

Forget about Australia performance, they probably haven`t played there for sometime, but how come great team India who has barely played outside for last 5-6 years only managed 230 runs?

Decent win but I would be disappointed if I was an Indian fan, since that team is bragged so much about batting powerhouse.

Reminds me of the India-Pakistan warm up match before the 2009 WC, the stadium was jam packed and the intensity was as good as an int'l match.

Pakistan lost that warm up game, then went on to win the cup. Will it happen to Australia this time?

The only silver lining was that Ravichandran Ashwin demonstrated that good technique leads to good performances, and that the spinners showed some jaan. Apart from that India look well on their way to being totally degraded due to the 20-20 cricket influence producing naqli players. The only reason they are winning is because every other team has also been negatively affected by 20-20.

The last remaining proper cricket team looks to be South Africa.

The Indian test cricket side is solid precisely because they pick batting geniuses like VVS Laxman instead of bits-and-pieces players. Chapdus like Yuvraj should not be in any form of international cricket.

South Africa is the best team in the world because they have the fundamentals right - solid batting lineup, excellent pace battery, and they focus on technique. If they win this world cup, their confidence will get a boost and they will dominate world cricket for the next 4-5 years.
