I predicted it well before aus vs sa result. OK, I think Nz have chances if the weather is cloudy, remember the 4th odi, I think, in nz series when India struggled to get to 150 or so...on the positive note, kohli, pant, kedar jadhav are due for a decent score wrt to their batting abilities. Dhoni, I don't expect also.

On a second thought, if cloudy include shankar drop jadhav.
Bbc weather forcast - cloudy with light winds!

Could turnout to be the most lopsided game in ODI history if India plays to its potential

his bitterness is sky high especially after we easily won our last 2 games & didn't helped his team by winning against England

your team would defo know on how to play aganist NZ. I mean not every team gets that brilliant 5-0 loss

I predict sharma and kohli will both fail in a run chase.
I predict india will need 78 runs in the final 6 overs, with dhoni at the crease.
Can dhoni save india's world cup dreams?

I want India vs Aus final. Haven't forgot the beating that Australia gave us in 2003 World Cup final. Perfect opportunity to take revenge. Guys like Sachin, Ganguly and Sehwag will also enjoy if we beat Australia in the final. Ganguly might also take off his shirt again. :inti

idk about Sourav but Kohli has already promised that he will take his shirt off if they win the world cup

It will be a one-sided affair.

India most likely to come out on top but NZ have the habit of catching them off guard in tournaments.

Nz will win the semifinal , as they have bowlers boult and fregunson, batsman in form williamson taylor james nisham tom latham just got form last match. They already defeated india in warm ups

Anything can happen against NZ bowling attack. They are even more unpredictable than Pakistan. It's time Kohli and Rohit to prove their mettle in knockout stages or there's no point in continuing with them after the WC. How many WCs they have been part of?

If NZ bat first and score 300+, this game will be very similar to the ct 2017!

They are a similar side to India as both teams rely on their bowlers. It will be a low scoring game.
Depends on the pitch.
Also, sharma is more important than the bowlers, in my opinion. If he scores big, india will win, but he is a slower starter and always gives you a chance to get him out early(fakhar, tammin). Pak and bangla failed to take these chances, but NZ are on a different level when it comes to fielding!
Kohli has just been a support act in this wc, no offence!

Just realized it's in Manchester which has had the two biggest totals scored.

India will beat NZ on a batting track. NZ better hope there's swing.

Stick to topic, stop posting about Pakistan

Trust me brother, you don't want to play australia in the final, no one wants to play australia in a final!!
Wish for an india vs england final.
England are chokers, australia are champions!!

Has there ever been a more one sided final?

Could turnout to be the most lopsided game in ODI history if India plays to its potential
Ok not that much

But I don’t remember ever a WC semi being against such lopsided opponents

Wow!!
You really believe you are that much better than NZ?
NZ are a top team!!
You may be in for a rude awakening!!
Wheres Aman ?

If cloudy, then play all 3 pacers. Bhuvi could be useful if the ball moves around.

Lol Aman will fully agree. He even says NZ don’t deserve to be in semis and got hidings from all top teams

You get what you deserve in life and NZ are in the semis!
I see alot of world class cricketers in this NZ team, i have no idea why indian fans and slog are not taking them seriously?!!
Well i know what slogs up to!!😉

I am hoping for a India vs Australia final.

Time for some revenge for the 2003 World Cup.

I'd like to hope that our players magically find form and actually perform, but I've been wanting that for the last weeks and only seen the same thing happen over and over again.

Unlikely to turn things around in the SF, the team is mentally shot and has zero form. India just need to make sure they execute their plans, keep things tight and they should breeze through to the Semis.

This time I think both semi finals will be in 250-275 score range. Final might be different.

India vs Aus would be ideal. Both are top teams and it could go either way.

If England beat Aus, the world will be uneasy. No one wants them to win a world championship or we'll never hear the end of it.

Entire over can't be bouncers. Ind, AUS are best players of pace and bounce. It's the swing that troubles all three teams. So it's Boult that's a threat
Boult and southie, if he plays, will both be a threat, due to the predicted overcast conditions and relative warm temperature!
Fergie's bouncers are lethal, because they follow the batsman, you can't just duck out the way. If you try to pull him, you may get in trouble because of his speed and get caught out!
I think in these conditions NZ has the better bowling attack. If bhuvi is fit and plays, he could be ideal for these conitions, otherwise its up to shami again!!
So far for india its been the sharma and shami show!!!

Show more faith in your team!!
NZ will win this world cup!!
Mark my words!!

I am confident on our bowling unit. Bumrah will definitely put pressure.

Kuldeep and chahal both should play.

India played Ferguson in NZ. Even Vijay Shankar, Rayudu played him well. He played in the IPL and he was dropped by Dinesh Karthik after a few games. Boult is their only threat.
In IPL he only try to bowl bouncer.. Here he has surprise Yorker too..

Trust me, we Indian fans do not want world cup via backdoor.
We wanted India to first defeat England and then Australia. But Australia had other plans.

In any case winning cup by defeating Australia will be the greatest. I would take my shirt off.

Ind vs Aus/Eng will be the final

NZ are in for a stern test however Kane Williamson has a chance to become a world legend bu going past India though it is unlikely

Found an interesting tidbit on the net, the only time Ind v Nz happened in a iCC tournament semi was U19 world cup in 2008. The 2 captains that day were Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson. 2 bowlers who also played a big game for their sides that day were Ravindra Jadeja and Tim Southee with India winning by 3 wickets via D/L.

It will also be a stern test for us, people really seem to be forgetting what happened in the warm up. Boult on a cloudy day against a batting lineup with issues against swing will not be an easy test for us.

This I wholeheartedly agree, England winning the CWC would be like Liverpool winning the premier league, no one wants that to happen.

We should win this comfortably. I don't see NZL challenging such a strong unit and India won't choke like the Proteas. Nothing biased, just an honest assessment.

You dont get the glory by choose and play, we will play anyone in tyr final and win ,cup is ours.aussies shud fear us

India was 22/4 in swinging conditions without Kohli. Reached 250 and won the game in NZ. Sure we welcome them. India even had Rayudu and Shankar.

This is world cup its a little different, SA beat Aus yesterday. Cant see why NZ cant beat Ind.

India deserve to lose after that strange run chase against eng.

Revenge... 16 years and several world cups later :))).

Why, since 2003 we have faced them twice in KO's it is 1-1, haven't faced them in finals again yet. This is our chance.

Our chance to create a powerful legacy. I don’t see any revenge.

One hole that New Zealand can look to exploit is that Rohit has very rarely performed in the knock-out matches of the ICC tournaments. Get him and Kohli and New Zealand will become favourites to win right away. Also, if as reported by a few people that the conditions will be overcast, this too will bring their bowlers into the game.

Although a one-sided contest on papers, I still think that India cannot, simply cannot afford to take them lightly. New Zealand´s batting is indeed a concern, but their bowling is seriously good to challenge the Indian batting line-up. Unlike the other semi-final, I don´t think that batting first will guarantee you a win here. This match will run a lot deeper than that.

Officials appointed for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup semi-finals

Australia’s game against England will be officiated by Kumar Dharmasena and Marais Erasmus
The umpires and officials for the two ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 semi-finals have been appointed following the conclusion of the group stage.

Taking charge of the India versus New Zealand match on Tuesday, 9 July at Old Trafford will be English umpires Richard Illingworth and Richard Kettleborough, while Australian Rod Tucker will be in the third umpire’s chair and Englishman Nigel Llong will be the fourth official. Former Australia international David Boon will be the match referee.

For the second semi-final between Australia and England at Edgbaston on Thursday, 11 July, the on-field umpires will be Sri Lankan Kumar Dharmasena and South African Marais Erasmus. The third umpire will be New Zealander Chris Gaffaney while Pakistan’s Aleem Dar will be the fourth official. Ranjan Madugalla of Sri Lanka will be the match referee.

There's always a chance in cricket, on your day and what not. But with the way we're playing, I can't even see a miracle saving us.

Best we can really hope is that we're competitive and not complete pushovers.

Overcast conditions give NZ a chance. Guptill must fire. Rohit and Kohli are overdue failures. They must be human.

Averages 55 in ICC KO

2011 WC- Q.F.- India vs Australia
2015 WC- S.F.- Australia vs India
2019 WC- Final- India vs Australia

I'm not quite happy with the semi-finals. I wanted an India-England semi-final at all cost, even if it meant that England were going to be the favourites. I wanted to see that contest. But thank you South Africa I suppose, no?

My younger sister made a very funny comment yesterday. She said/asked, "On one hand you're a big fan of Dhoni and on the other hand you want his team to run into the team who`re the only ones to have beaten them in the tournament so far!" :))

India deserve to lose after that strange run chase against eng.
So India deserves to lose because they gave up five overs and played for their NRR but NZ does not deserve to lose although they did the same but some twenty overs into the match. Whoever wins from. Is deserves it. NZ just has had more luck and everything seems to have worked out. But let’s see how long they will have that

On current from and strength, India and NZL have 70:30 chance of winning it, favoring India.

India will win and proceed to the final where they will have every chance of winning!

But what if they do? It will be 3-1 to India then

As a passionate Pak fan, this is something that I cannot and will not take!

A potential walkover for India barring a special innings from Williamson and Taylor and some magic by Boult and Ferguson.

NZs best chance would be to bat first and score handsomely to put India under scoreboard pressure

India are the only Asian team to progress to the semi-finals of World Cup 2019 which has led former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar to back India to lift the World Cup trophy on July 14 at Lord's in London. Other than India, all the other teams from Asia including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan exited the tournament following the end of the league stage. So far, India have dominated the tournament, topping the 10-team table by winning seven matches and losing only to hosts and pre-tournament favourites England. India's game against New Zealand was washed out without a single ball being bowled.

India will take on will take on the New Zealand in the first semi-final in Manchester on Tuesday.

"New Zealand can't take pressure. I hope they don't choke this time. But I really want the World Cup to stay in the subcontinent and I think, I will back India all the way," Akhtar said in his YouTube channel.

Rohit Sharma who has been in sublime form in the ongoing World Cup scored his record fifth century of the tournament against Sri Lanka in the last league match at Leeds on Saturday. Rohit bettered the record set by former Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara in the 2015 World Cup.

Rohit hit a fine 103 to help India thrash the Lankans by seven wickets in their final league game to finish with 15 points from 9 games. Rohit got support from the other end as KL Rahul scored his maiden World Cup hundred.

Praising Rohit and KL Rahul's performances, Akhtar said, "Rohit Sharma has great timing and shot selection. His understanding of the game is also superb. K.L. Rahul also got his ton which is a good thing".

Akhtar opined that the net run-rate rule is a "cruel thing" and Pakistan played better cricket than the Kiwis but failed to go through on this count.

"Pakistan played better than New Zealand. I really thought they would make it but the net run rate is a cruel thing."

Pakistan finished fifth with 11 points, same as New Zealand, but lost out due to an inferior net run-rate. In 2015, Australia beat New Zealand to win the World Cup.

Australia will lock horns with England in the second semi-final that is scheduled to be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Thursday.
