Indian women cricket team created record as they become 2nd team in history of cricket to win world cup as a Host country. India's men cricket team was the 1st host to win WC 2011

SA didn't have their best team because of the quota system, which is sad.
A world cup is a world cup.All pointless.
Choked the one that matters.
Do you have some allergy with facts??India Women did what the men could not do.
Win a World Cup at home and KO Australia in the finals.

I was talking specifically about 2023India did KO aus in 2011 and went on win but yeah last one was terrible.
Doesnt absolve you of the nasty comment you made about South African colored people who have fought for centuries for this quota you were criticising..He needs to see a therapist. I suspect he's having some problems at home and taking all that frustration out on me.
Spare me, @Sachin fan. Go grab a cup of coffee and relax![]()
Your compatriots just cant help themselves…Guys this is a positive cricket thread, all other issues we have multiple TP threads!
Happy for Harmanpreet, hopefully she retires now and doesn’t overstay lole Mithali
Thank you! It means a lot after having lost 2 finals in last couple of decades!(2005,2017).Your compatriots just cant help themselves…
Old habits and all that..
Congrats on the victory..
At least your reaching the finals…Thank you! It means a lot after having lost 2 finals in last couple of decades!(2005,2017).
We didn’t even make it to KO in 2022 after reaching finals in 2017, but finally had a proper team this time, our Mom for finals is 21 yr old, everything has to be balanced to win, takes time , South Asian women cannot be Aussies in just 2 decades. At least your reaching the finals…
Pakistan is going backwards…
Aus 03 and aus 07 were as dominant. Why not? Do only Indians have the copyrights to take shots at the Indian team?
I can sleep easy at night knowing Pakistan is a crap team. I don't have nightmares about my team losing a final infront of 90,000 home fans after they dominated the tournament like no team has ever dominated it before.
Now buzz off, and stop derailing the thread. This thread is about Indian Women winning the World Cup at home, not Indian men suffering a generational trauma at home.
Your trajectory is right and thats all that matters. Without proper systems in place and checks/balances, its a pipe dream..We didn’t even make it to KO in 2022 after reaching finals in 2017, but finally had a proper team this time, our Mom for finals is 21 yr old, everything has to be balanced to win, takes time , South Asian women cannot be Aussies in just 2 decades.
Before this quota they never even reached finals..
Remember they got Rabada and WTC because of quota system
For all the flak Jay Shah gets, he is the best thing that happened to Women’s cricket. In contrast to that misogynist Srinivasan, he pushed for parity in salaries for women cricketers and started WPL. Credit where it is due.Remember when the BCCI president said this. I wonder what he thinks now of this team's achievement.

The Indian women's team and the 2017 Champions Trophy-winning Pakistani team have some similarities. Both teams were not as good in the league stages, but played like champions in the semi-finals and final. This thread has turned into a weird cesspool of blue on blue (pun intended) and the usual bunch of Pak v Ind nonsense. Another thread where certain individuals shoehorn Pakistan in eventhough Pakistan has nothing to do with it. Color me surprised.
But amidst this garbage discourse it's important to stress what an incredible achievement this is by the Indian Women's team. They were not the best team in the group stage and had their fair share of hiccups. But they stepped up when it mattered most and proved themselves to be a champion team by winning the World Cup. That's what being a great team is all about. Winning those big matches and trophies is what etches your name in history.
The impact of this World Cup win will be massive. Girls all over India will be inspired to take up the sport professionally. Kaur, Madhana, Rodrigues will all have their own legion of female fans. And as fans of this sport that is something that you make us all happy.

I’m all for equality but personally this is not equality because they don’t bring in the same money to BCCI.Also as I am writing this, news filtering in that BCCI will match the 125 crores prize money to Women’s team (approx USD 15 million) - the same prize the men’s team got after the Men’s T20 WC winning team. Way to go in setting up a gender parity.

They definitely deserve a lot but matching Men’s team where the money is audience based isn’t right way.
They should instead trickle it down to colleges and school for women's cricket.

I would never take a Pakistani or Bangladeshi opinion on Women’s cricket seriously. It’s absolutely not freeloading when the whole country is cheering for you and the team just won a WC. If anything, I bet that WPL viewership and sponsorship will only grow from here. BCCI has pledged parity between genders and they have to put their money where their mouth is.I agree with you.
It should be proportional to how much money they generate. Otherwise, it becomes freeloading
thats seriously bad post bro. make sure to fact check.India Women did what the men could not do.
Win a World Cup at home and KO Australia in the finals.
Love the burn. Keep it coming loser....This was the only way the Indian womens team could have won a world cup if they hosted the tourney BCCI and ICC got the result they wanted in the end, was hoping south africa could have won after the horrible incident that happened with the Aussies women team.
BD cricket in itself is freeloading..making advantage of their full membership which in it self was an act of charity from the days when BCCI and PCB acted in syncI would never take a Pakistani or Bangladeshi opinion on Women’s cricket seriously. Yeah decrease bangaldesh’s share of the icc pie and increase india’s to 90%I agree with you.

Pakistan women played all their matches in the same ground and won zero matches lolololThis was the only way the Indian womens team could have won a world cup if they hosted the tourney BCCI and ICC got the result they wanted in the end, was hoping south africa could have won after the horrible incident that happened with the Aussies women team.
Let us actually see If Indias womens team can win a world tourney (t20 or odi). The answer is no, it was only on these type of pitches that India has a chance to win. Here start the stani Pak kaaaanspiracies.... Keep them coming boyssss![]()

Think with a different perspective and widen your vision! Sometimes it’s not about just business and profits. Landmark occasions often result in watershed events and the first ever World Cup win by the Indian women is one such occasion. Becoming a world cup winner is a big deal, and for a developing country like ours it is even bigger.I’m all for equality but personally this is not equality because they don’t bring in the same money to BCCI.

What a weird statement and even funnier my response to it was deleted...Let us actually see If Indias womens team can win a world tourney (t20 or odi). The answer is no, it was only on these type of pitches that India has a chance to win.
It is not a weird statement, India had home advantage and won in conditions best suited to them....good job...not lets see if Indian Womens team can win in conditions that do not suit themWhat a weird statement and even funnier my response to it was deleted...
What did Indian women win today sor loser? Was it a Mohalla choola competition or a world tourney?
ROFL salty loser
Not salty just stating the fact if certains Nishs cannot see it than that is not our problem. Just spitting facts son.Certain Pakistanis and Stani Paks and their weird outlandish Kaaanspiracies every time India wins
Can only win at home
Can only win when don't travel
Can only win with rigged feeds
Can only win when RizBar ain't playing
Can only win coz BCCI rigged it
What a salty bunch of losers
The problem is ground level issues, just to give a reality from 15 years ago, my senior played basketball and state cricket because lack of women players is huge, what helps is sports scholarships for women in fields where BCCI can help a lot.. right now they should definitely give them a lot of money but it doesn’t seem proportional to what they bring and lack of girls playing sports/cricket at lower level needs to be corrected where funding helps. As I see it, they all represent India and there should be parity in treatment. Not everything is about commercial aspects, if BCCI is serious about encouraging female participation and viewership they need to assure parity in salaries and prize money. Imbalance in salaries is not a good look in any country.

Bollywood would have already started penning the script on this world cup win..soon we will see a movie on this..Shefali Varma's story is straight out of a movie script. Someone who was playing some small time T20 leagues when these girls were playing World Cup was brought in as a replacement. She won the player of the match.
Whatever helps you to get to work on Monday buddyIf it was England playing today instead of South Africa, I think England should've won.
Choker South Africa couldn't handle the pressure. South African ladies are bigger chokers than their men's team.
It was a shame SA knocked out England.

Oh yeah hahaha another one of his favouritesSouth Africa didn't lose yesterday, you did![]()

You know, you could make a similar video from the men's World Cup too.RSA did not choke. They got blown away by IND. They also decided to chase in a Final lol.
Anyway, now that the WC is over, can someone make a meme of all the terrible running between the wickets, misfields, dropped chances, ground fielding to stop the boundaries![]()
Nope not even close.. she is more along lines of Inzi at best. The best Indian-W player seems to be Deepti Sharma, but her fitness is worse than Azam Khan.
Lol, she's not as bad! As long as she doesn't perform like him, I think we'll do just fine. The best Indian-W player seems to be Deepti Sharma, but her fitness is worse than Azam Khan.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia announces ₹51 Crore cash reward for the Indian Women's cricket team after it won the ICC Women's World CupAlso as I am writing this, news filtering in that BCCI will match the 125 crores prize money to Women’s team (approx USD 15 million) - the same prize the men’s team got after the Men’s T20 WC win. I think bcci gave 131 crores to India men's team. They should have given atleast half to encourage younger players.
‘Harman’ will be the movie name. First women’s WC winning captain. Kapil and Dhoni got one, pretty sure Harman is next at some point.Bollywood would have already started penning the script on this world cup win..soon we will see a movie on this..
I already saw a reel where Akshay plays Harman‘Harman’ will be the movie name. First women’s WC winning captain. Kapil and Dhoni got one, pretty sure Harman is next at some point.

I didn't realise Harman made her international debut way back in 2009. It's been a hard grind for her and a well deserved win this after a decade. She'll probably retire afte t20 WC next year.
you can’t single out the women, many Pak mens players regress as well its probably PCB in that caseCompare this to the lack of progress Pakistani female cricketers make, they get worse every year they play.
I expect WPL valuation to go up as a result. However, Womens Cricket will be relevant only for ODI WC or T20 WC. In the T20 version, I dont see how our desi women can match the power hitting of SENA ladies as well as fitness level. So glad this wc was promoted so well and India clinched it, remarkable stories all around , celebrations across cities, motivating young girls, their parents, amazing.
Let's not club all Asian women's teams together in T20 cricket.I expect WPL valuation to go up as a result. However, Womens Cricket will be relevant only for ODI WC or T20 WC. In the T20 version, I dont see how our desi women can match the power hitting of SENA ladies as well as fitness level.
In the 9 or 10 T20 WC events hosted, IND has 0 titles in that format. All of them were dominated and won by Aus, even though looks like even WI-W have a title as well.Let's not club all Asian women's teams together in T20 cricket.
Bangladesh clearly can't considering they are ranked 10th in the format.
India is not too far away as they are ranked #3 in T20 cricket.
The fitness and strength is increasing among women exponentially, young women in India are channelling themselves with fitness and sports and will reach there.I expect WPL valuation to go up as a result. However, Womens Cricket will be relevant only for ODI WC or T20 WC. In the T20 version, I dont see how our desi women can match the power hitting of SENA ladies as well as fitness level.
Indian women didn’t even have proper sponsorship until 20 years ago, BCCI took over 20 years agoIn the 9 or 10 T20 WC events hosted, IND has 0 titles in that format. All of them were dominated and won by Aus, even though looks like even WI-W have a title as well.

Its much better on the mens side. For example, Kohli has insane level of fitness which is why he was competitive even in his "old" age.The fitness and strength is increasing among women exponentially, young women in India are channelling themselves with fitness and sports and will reach there.
On general SENA, I doubt many MEN players in South Asia today reach the same levels as SENA or WI
Maybe they need a breakthrough knock from one of their batsmen. The turning point, as far Indian cricket is concerned, was this game in 2017 where Harman's wild 171 knocked out the mighty Aussies in 2017 world cup semi. That was when most Indians really started paying attention to women's cricket, including me. It took another 8 years for the women to finally lift the trophy.
Renuka , Jemima and Harman too in terms of athleticism... and Indian women Badminton , hockey and squash players are insanely athletic as well, so overall lot of improvement and exponentially it will increase. Its much better on the mens side. For example, Kohli has insane level of fitness which is why he was competitive even in his "old" age.
I can see that at least 3 players from Ind-W side is totally/somewhat out of shape but they are good I guess: Shefali V, Richa G, Deepti S.
I could also see that our Football Women team has way better fitness level compared to our Cricket team. Some of our Cricket-W players are also totally out of shape as well.
