Ishant is not good enough as a bowler. He may produce a few good spells. But 1 wicket is not good enough for a strike bowler.
No wonder BK and Bumrah have over taken him a short period of time. Ishant simply does not get enough wickets to warrant a place in the attack. He is at best a good support bowler to the 2 main strike bowlers.

And his current role is exactly that.He can bowl tirelessly long spells and has been steadily improving for the last few years.In the last two years, his average is under 30.

Very satisfactory performance on a flat deck. Its always important for the bowling line up to begin a series on a positive note and India managed to do just that. India's catching will really be under the scanner here in England. Bhaijaan reckons a lot might depend on how well India grabs their chances in the field. Two silly drops already on day 1 i thought they were exceptional to srill manage to stay on top.

By the end of the day Indians did pull it back in a big way and the match will end in a result !!! In a way they will be happy that they will bat fresh tomorrow .... Vijay will be the key now that Pujara is missing, and they do have some batting depth too .... but this is Cricket .... anything can happen !!!
