What do they need to ensure qualification?
Not lose. The race for the playoffs spot is at a stage where every result throws up a number of possibilities and even MI, despite 16 points and top spot currently, aren't still guaranteed to finish atop. While KXIP will mathematically still be in the race if they lose one of their remaining two games, provided a host of other results fall in their favour, Royals just can't afford it. A loss for Smith & Co. here would mean the end of the road, effectively, for they can only get to a maximum of 12 points thereafter, which won't suffice.
When: Friday, October 30 at 19:30 IST
Where: Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi
What to expect: With the return of dew, toss has become significant. Captains are back at wanting to chase. Abu Dhabi's bigger boundaries also bring the spinners into the equation a lot more.
