RCB not reflecting the Karnataka dominance in Ranji (2nd most titles after Mumbai). Mumbai seems to have kept their head straight & relied upon their local talents as the core! While RCB denied their local talents for the most and CSK borrowed all the top guns from outside!

SKY will get his chance. Actually when the selection was made, Samson was ahead of him in reckoning( that Mumbai chase from Samson happened just before) and Pandey last played T20 international also and had a good IPL as well. So, they got prioritised.

Before the WC 2019 period, I don't think SKY had enough performances to be given a go.

In ODIs, Iyer is still our best bet at 4. In T20s, SKY could be preferred but Iyer's T20 performance got ignored because of his ODI exploits.
