I had an absolute pleasure and joy of being a best or bestestttt friend of DHONI183. It was an incredible and breathtaking ride with him over the past 16 years. We accidentally became friends via PP in September 2007 and our friendship took off. I would describe his personality as level headed, calm, mature, very caring, full of love, committed, witty, humorous and romantic. Dhoni183 lived an exemplary disciplinary and principled life. He was a ‘foji’. I often teased him with ‘naqli foji’ tag if his call would be a minute or two late. Allah gifted him with immense talent - he could sing, write poetry and books, perform mimicry of various celebrities and politicians. Dhoni183 was like a combo, he could do anything. He was a jolly and funny friend to be with.
Dhoni183 authored a book called ‘Zacrodonia - The Sacred Land’ despite his various health complications. It took him two years to write the book. He was extremely knowledgeable about various religions. He had a passion to learn different religions and he was a master of Islam. You could ask any random question regarding Islam and most probably he would answer you on the spot. Inquiring and gaining religious education was a hobby for him. He never went to school but wrote English like a champ. He religiously and passionately prayed to Allah and thanked HIM for his presents and blessings.
Even though he remained ill through out his life, one habit I’m proud to inform you all that he fully enjoyed his life. He brimmed with energy. You could crack a joke with him at any random time in any situation. It was never a dull moment with him. His presence would lit up a room. He was center of attention in a party. He was an easy-going man - it was so simple to have a chat with him regarding any topic. I often discussed my personal life only with him because it was so effortless. He would keep your secrets and I blindly trusted him. He was my go to guy to seek advice. He was always there for you when it mattered. He will let you rant to him. I used to wait for his calls so I could vent out my frustration. Dhoni183 was a marvellous listener. He was a true friend. I was lucky to have known him. I’ve had the chance to learn a lot about life through his eyes. I admired his trait of calmness and matureness.
MS Dhoni if you are reading this - you lost a fan yesterday. I’m not sure if a word ‘fan’ is suitable in this case. He was larger than a fan. You were his life and he tirelessly adored you. I can bet Dhoni183 remembered your every single boundary or a catch/stumping you took till his last breath. I wish you had met him at least once when he was alive. I hope you get to read his tribute to you when you retired in August, 2020. I promise you - nobody can write that.
I would like to grab this opportunity to praise his parents and siblings. Dhoni183 was their life if I could put it in a simple word. He lived like a prince due to them. He was a royal in the home. I don’t know how they will proceed from here onward. I pray to Allah and request you all to pray for their sabar. His parents will be distraught and broken. His siblings will be shattered. His little nieces and nephews will be traumatized. Its an irreplaceable loss. People like Dhoni183 are rare and they are not born everyday. He was a special human being.
I wish I could hug you man. I hope you are smiling and having fun wherever you are. I desire that you are finally at peace. I love you. I dont know if I did justice to our friendship but it was an honour to have you with me. Next time until we meet.
