I hope for Kohli's sake he has a better game today. What was it last game, two dropped catches, a misfield for 4, and a poor shot to get out? Atrocious stuff.

Kohli is not the same after he took over captaincy! If you observe before (prior to captaincy) he used to perform exactly in crunch games, but now he is in Rohit Sharma mode (trying to play insignificant innings)
 
Today & Tomorrow are the most important days for three teams (KKR, RCB & MI.) KXI are too far from it though they have slightly better chance if both RCB & MI lose (and also if KKR loses by a big margin! Possibility is there because the match is in Hyderabad & SRH won't like to lose 3 continuous matches going into playoffs! They want to show their presence) Then KXI playing last (tomorrow night) can plan & overhaul RR easily (even CSK may help them out!)

MI is in the best position out of the 5, because they play tomorrow and also it is against DD (But RCB will love if DD continue the form and beat MI).

So many calculations & permutations... Very interesting...
 
RR is gonna miss Butler. :(

Wish he was allowed one more game to throw out khuli.
 
RR is batting first! RCB would hope that they replicate KXI match with depleted RR batting...
 
Kohli should make sure that all 4 overs of Chahal is bowled at Sanju Samson

Wasn't he the captain even in 2016 edition? Captaincy has improved his game especially in test cricket.
 
This is a good total on board on this dry pitch... RCB under some pressure for sure
 
AB is between RR win & loss... If he can stay for 5 overs, that's it
 
RCB missed the trick, should have gone with additional spinner... They forgot Sundar completely
 
AB can do this though. HAve to keep faith. Afterall, he is is the closest thing we have to Superman :bow:

Exactly, Kohli has failed twice now where it was crucial. he should have focused on the matters at hand. If his team survives this, he owns a huge gratitude to the players involved.

Well Kohli & RCB management didn't see two local Karnataka guys (Gowtham & Gopal) in the auction... All they did is do Kohli & ABD japa mantra (hari-hara mantra)

Probably to accommodate Ali... They thought Parthiv does similar job & its sufficient. QdK was not in great touch either, but should have allowed him to get back...

From what I understnad Ali hasn't been that great, bar one match, either. Maybe missed the trick there, but hindsight is 20/20.

Besides QdK use to feast on India. He was probably due.
 
Can't help but cringe at the scorecard. Only two double-digit scores. If ANYONE else contributed 20 or 30 runs this could have been a different game.

Yes I do agree, with Parthiv its always a template (some quick runs & get out), he never had anything more than that anytime in his entire career... We are seeing how Wicket-Keepers are making the difference with their batting in this series... QdK definitely had that ability
 
Kohli averages 50+ as one down for India - why does he open for RCB?

Moeen and Parthiv could have opened.
 
Well this is better than getting embarrassed in the 1st qualifier itself. RCB will undergo major change (Preferably I want even the management or possibly even the name to get changed for a different luck like SRH) The management which sees the talents around & construct a team instead of going behind superstars... Never mind even if we lose Kohli (Let him go & do something for the Delhi team which is also lacking passion & also leader). There is a cry for change of captaincy for RCB & hand it over to ABD... It is not going to happen with Kohli around (and him being captain of Indian National team, he can't step down like that for an IPL team). Then ABD can work out freshly with new scheme of things, and also gets hold of management/selection issues like how some successful matured/senior international pros did (Warne for RR, Warner/Williamson for SRH, Gilchrist for DC, etc)
 
Kohli can handle DD team for 2 to 3 years or so, after which I am sure he will give up captaincy for both IPL & National Team. If he still sticks to captaincy further he is going get mentally sick & get an early retirement from cricket, I don't want to lose the batsman/player in him! My heart goes out for the way he puts himself in the deep to save runs in the slog overs being a captain... If he is not the captain, he can take all those catches & save all those runs with a free mind! At least DD team doesn't have intense fans like RCB, so he can go there & do something afresh. I am sure RCB fans will not tolerate this non-sense anymore and they would demand change... (IPL box office is severely dependent on Chinnaswamy & Wankhede stadiums.)

Agreed. This was an atrocious end to the season and Kohli did zero to help. He should either contribute, or at least show some will to, or make way.

Crude, but true.
 
Looks like SRH, CSK, KKR & MI going to make the playoffs. All these teams/cities have won the trophies before (even multiple times). So I want KXI to qualify in place of one those teams, so that they get a chance to win (in addition to the support for Rahul). It can happen if they keep CSK under low score & then Gayle/Rahul get that quickly! So bad I supported MI in their match against KXI (in the interest of RCB), if KXI had won that match their chance would have brightened up!

Why are you surprised?

The moment RR scored 164 on this pitch, RCB was most likely to lose.

Its a choker team.
 
Kohli is just not worth 17 crores as a player.

Scores impactless runs in IPL (barring one season) plus chokes so often.

Completely opposite to T20I international.

As a brand, he may be worth 5x more.
 
Raina and Kohli are the top 2 scorers in IPL history.

Runs by Raina have been worth way more.

He may be finished now but CSK owes a lot of its success to that guy.
 
Manish Pandey seems to have learnt from Dhoni, takes too many balls, screws the runrate and then hits an odd boundary or six to keep his strike rate above 100 and looks blameless on the scorecard.

Missed the RCB match.Looks like Another matchwinning knock by Tripathi.This guy really neutralises the Rahane factor where Rahane is always giving his absolute best to ensure his team loses the match.
 
So khoali choked again? Color me surprised.

So glad rcb are out of race to playoffs. They represent worst of IPL. Bad bowling and no development/investment of young cricketers.
