Bhuvneshwar Kumar has provided Royal Challengers Bengaluru with the wicket of Abishek Porel for 7. In the chase of 164, Delhi Capitals have lost two wickets and currently rely on KL Rahul and Axar Patel for a good partnership. Earlier, Tim David's late fireworks lifted a struggling Royal Challengers Bengaluru to 163/7 against Delhi Capitals in their Indian Premier League match in Bengaluru on Thursday. MS Dhoni will captain CSK for the remainder of IPL 2025 after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the tournament with an elbow fracture. Head Coach Stephen Fleming confirmed the development on Thursday (April 10), the eve of the team's home game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Gaikwad, 28, sustained a blow to his elbow while facing Tushar Deshpande in CSK's clash against Rajasthan Royals on March 30. Though he featured in the next two games, against Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, scans have now confirmed a fracture.

"Unfortunately, Ruturaj Gaikwad is going to be ruled out of the tournament," Fleming said. "He got hit in Guwahati. He's been operating with an amount of pain. We got an X-ray, which was inconclusive, and we had an MRI, which revealed a fracture in his elbow, so we're disappointed and feel for him.

"We appreciate the efforts that he's gone to in terms of trying to play but unfortunately, he'll be out of this tournament for now. We have an uncapped player in MS Dhoni who will take over as captain for the remainder of the IPL."

The injury is a major setback for the five-time winners, who have lost four of their first five matches and sit ninth in the standings. With Gaikwad out, they lose a key figure in an already misfiring top order. Notably, he also has been CSK's leading run-scorer in three of the last four seasons.

Dhoni should have gracefully retired after winning 2023 final, but he stays on shamelessly till date.

He forgot he axed Dravid-Ganguly-Sehwag-Gambhir-Yuvraj-Harbhajan from Indian team when they failed in 1-2 series.

Ganguly the BCCI president returned the axing favour by dropping Dhoni in 2019 from Team India but Dhoni shamelessly carries on in the IPL.

MSD is a problem. But that is only 5%. Real problem is a squad that is unfit to play modern T20. You can remove MSD. The result is not going to change one bit. They have fascination with washed up, discarded players from other franchisees. They usually convert them into match winners. But the guys they have picked are ultra useless. Tripathi and Hooda.

Even gaikwad is quite ridiculous. He is not fit for modern t20 approach. Issue is aggregated by multiple failures in tactics and having g washed up stock like jadeja. Dhoni, dube who cant play bouncers,Conway with his slow and steady approach, aswin completely washed up etc.They had it coming
