Mushtaq takes five-for as OGDCL beat WAPDA​


Oil and Gas Development Corporation Limited’s (OGDCL) Mushtaq Ahmed took 5-96 to bowl out Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) for 258 in 65 overs as they fell 62 runs short of the target at the KCCA Stadium, Karachi on day four of the third round of President’s Trophy Grade-I on Thursday.

WAPDA’s Ayaz Tasawar, who came in to bat at No. 6, fought hard with an unbeaten century (126 not out, 162b, 15x4s, 4x6s) but in vain as he ran out of partners to bat with.

WAPDA had started the day with overnight score of 9-2 and soon slipped to 75-5 before Ayaz and Bismillah Khan (42, 64b, 6x4s) stitched a 100-run partnership before the last four wickets added 83 runs. Mohammad Adil was not available to bat in both the innings owing to injury.

Mushtaq was backed by leg-spinner Arif Yaqoob, who picked up three wickets.

Pakistan Television’s (PTV) Mohammad Taha registered his maiden first-class double century (226, 321b, 17x4s, 9x6s) and also shared a 344-run opening stand with Waqar Hussain (154, 255b, 11x4s, 3x6s).

PTV started the day with overnight score of 131-0 and finished with 456-3 when the teams decided to shake hands. PTV had overcome a first innings deficit of 144 runs and had taken a lead of 312 when the time ran out on day four.

Omair, Ibtisam and Sameen star on day one of President's Trophy fourth-round action​


Omair Bin Yousuf stroked his 11th first-class century as Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) reached 302 for eight against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) on the opening day of the four-day President’s Trophy fixture at the State Bank of Pakistan Stadium on Sunday.

Omair hit 11 fours in a 106-run innings that came off 209 balls and featured in a 164-run fifth-wicket partnership with Saifullah Bangash after SNGPL had slipped to 123 for four. Saifullah was unbeaten on 88 when play ended, having faced 146 balls and struck 12 boundaries.

For KRL, fast bowler Arshadullah was the standout performer with figures of 20-5-50-4, while Jawad Ali took two wickets for 76 runs.

At the UBL Sports Complex, 20 wickets fell on an eventful opening day in the match between Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Ghani Glass.

Batting first, OGDCL were bundled out for 80 in 34.1 overs, with Sameen Gul claiming an impressive five for 14 in 10.1 overs – ninth time he had taken five wickets or more in an innings. Ghani Glass, in reply, managed 145 runs, thanks to contributions from Saad Nasim (38), Tayyab Tahir (36) and Shadab Khan (30). Mohammad Amir Khan (4-46), Mushtaq Ahmed (3-43), and Mohammad Huzaifa (2-18) shared the wickets for OGDCL.

Fast bowler Mohammad Ibtisam took five for 54 to help Pakistan Television (PTV) bowl Eshaal Associates out for 164 at the NBP Sports Complex. Abdul Wahid Bangalzai (46) and Abdullah Shafique (34) were the top scorers for Eshaal Associates. At stumps, PTV had reached 144 for three, with opener Shamyl Hussain batting on 63.

At the KCCA Stadium, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) were dismissed for 250 with Khalid Usman (69 not out) and Mohammad Ammar (59) leading the charge. For State Bank of Pakistan, Mohammad Ismail and Zahid Mehmood took three wickets each, conceding 43 and 95 runs, respectively. In reply, SBP lost both their openers for ducks and ended the day at 23 for two.

Shamyl hits double century as PTV take massive lead​


Pakistan Television’s Shamyl Hussain struck his maiden first-class double century as his team took a 367-run first innings lead over Eshaal Associates on day two of the fourth round of President’s Trophy Grade-I at the NBP Sports Complex on Monday.

Shamyl returned for 229 off 274 balls with the help of 29 fours and four sixes and also shared a 163-run partnership with Muhammad Shahzad for the seventh wicket. Shahzad, batting at No.8, struck his second consecutive and fourth first-class century as he struck 12 boundaries and four sixes in his 126-ball 104-run knock.

PTV finished declared their first innings on 531-9 in 114 overs, while Eshaal Associates were 46-2 at stumps with a huge deficit ahead of them.

At the SBP Sports Complex, Khan Research Laboratories’ opening batter Waqar Ahmed backed up his double century in the previous round with a 122-run knock off 185 balls inclusive of 17 fours against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).

KRL finished the day with 266-7 on the board with a 68-run first innings deficit left in the bag. Earlier, SNGPL had resumed their first innings from overnight score of 302-8 and added 32 more runs to their total before getting bowled out.

SNGPL’s Saifullah Bangash registered his third first-class century as he struck 111 not out off 177 balls with the help of 16 fours.

State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) skipper Umar Amin hit his 35th first-class century to help his team take a 54-run lead over Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) as they finished the day with 304-7 at close of play.

With SBP continuing the day from 23-2 at the KCCA Stadium, Umar faced 241 balls for 136 runs hitting 15 fours and two sixes. At the UBL Sports Complex, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) finished the day with 225-3 after they began their second innings at start of play on day two against Ghani Glass.

OGDCL lead by 290 runs, while Sameer Saqib (82 not out, 253b, 10x4s) and Adil Amin (42 not out, 83b, 5x4s) will be on the crease, when they resume batting on day three.

Faisal Akram takes seven-for in PTV's innings win​


Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Pakistan Television (PTV) won their fourth round matches against Ghani Glass and Eshaal Associates, respectively on Tuesday.

At the UBL Sports Complex, OGDCL resuming their second innings at the overnight score of 225 for three were bundled out for 266 in 107.5 overs. Sameer Saqib added only one run to his overnight score and was dismissed for 83 off 259 balls, which included 10 fours.

For Ghani Glass, Mamoon Riaz and Sameen Gul grabbed three wickets each, while Afaq Afridi and Ubaid Shah took two wickets each.

In turn, Ghani Glass in pursuit of 202-run target were bowled out for 149 in 41.4 overs. Sharjeel Khan (33, 33b, 6x4s) and Kashif Ali (31, 45b, 5x4s) were the notable run-getters for the losing side.

OGDCL’s Mohammad Huzaifa took six wickets for 33, while Mohammad Amir Khan bagged three wickets.

PTV defeated Eshaal Associates by an innings and 88 runs at the NBP Sports Complex in Karachi. Resuming their second innings at the overnight score of 46 for two in 10 overs, Eshaal Associates were dismissed for 279 in 69.1 overs with opening batter Azan Awais scoring a 131-ball 82, hitting 12 fours and a six. Abdul Wahid Bangalzai coming to bat at number six top-scored with 86 off 122 balls, smashing 10 fours and two sixes.

For the winning side, left-arm spinner Faisal Akram took seven wickets for 93 runs, taking his match tally to eight scalps.

At the State Bank Stadium, Khan Research Laboratories (KRL)in pursuit of a 207-run target against SNGPL were 81 for three in 24 overs when stumps were drawn. Earlier, resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 266 for seven in 79 overs, KRL were dismissed for 280 in 81.5 overs.

SNGPL in their second innings were bundled out for 152 in 48.2 overs with wicketkeeper-batter Saifullah Bangash top-scoring with 62 off 88 balls, hitting 10 fours. For KRL. Mohammad Qaiser was the most successful bowler, taking four wickets for 26 runs.

At the KCCA Stadium, WAPDA set a 145-run target for SBP at the conclusion of third day’s play. Resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 304 for seven in 93 overs, State Bank were bowled out for 347 in 102.5 overs. WAPDA’s captain Khalid Usman bagged five wickets for 75, while Naqeebullah took three wickets for 97.

WAPDA resuming their second innings with a deficit of 97 runs, were bowled out for 241 in 77.4 overs. Khalid top-scored with a 116-ball 78, hitting 12 fours. Bismillah Khan (46, 73b, 3x4s, 1x6) and Ayaz Tasawar (43, 88b, 6x4s, 1x6) were other notable run-getters for the team.

For SBP, Aimal Khan and Zahid Mehmood took three wickets each.

SBP clinch one-wicket win over WAPDA​


The fourth round of President’s Trophy Grade – I concluded on Wednesday as State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) clinched a one-wicket win over Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) on Wednesday. Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) also defeated Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) by four wickets.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Pakistan Television (PTV) won their fourth-round matches against Ghani Glass and Eshaal Associates, respectively.

At the KCCA Stadium, SBP lost nine batters as they chased down the 145-run target in the 42nd over against WAPDA. Kashif Bhatti, batting at number nine, top-scored for the side with a 47-ball 42, hitting four fours and two sixes.

For WAPDA, Naqeebullah was the most successful bowler taking four wickets for 67 runs in 17.2 overs and ended up taking seven wickets in the match. Right-arm fast Ali Raza took three wickets in a losing cause.

At the State Bank Stadium, KRL overcame SNGPL by four wickets. Resuming their second innings at the overnight score of 81 for three in 24 overs, KRL achieved the target in 53 overs, losing six wickets in the process. Muhammad Awais Zafar, coming to bat at number six, top-scored with an unbeaten 71 off 77 balls, smashing seven fours and three sixes.

For SNGPL, Saad Khan and Rahat Ali snapped two wickets apiece.

The fifth round of the tournament will begin on Saturday, 1 February.

PTV's Israr shines with hat-trick against Ghani Glass​


Pakistan Television’s left arm pacer Israr Hussain picked up 7-72 including a hat-trick against Ghani Glass on the opening day of the fifth round of President’s Trophy Grade-I at the KCCA Stadium, Karachi on Saturday.

Israr’s seven-for, which came in 18 overs, helped his team bundle out Ghani Glass for 238 in 55.2 overs. His hat-trick came when the opposition were 52-2.

Haseeb-ur-Rehman (88, 125b, 12x4s) and Shadab Khan (55, 73b, 5x4s) contributed with half-centuries for Ghani Glass. In turn, PTV had scored 130 runs for the loss of one wicket at close of play with Waqar Hussain (69 not out, 80b, 9x4s) and Mohammad Taha (38 not out, 59b, 4x4s) on the crease.

At the NBP Sports Complex, Water and Power Development Authority’s (WAPDA) Imran Dogar struck 110 off 245 balls with the help of 15 fours against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).

Mohammad Ammar contributed with a 96-ball 58 inclusive of seven fours and one six as WAPDA finished the day with 285-5 in 84 overs.

Eshaal Associates’ Musa Khan picked up 5-52 against Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), his seventh first-class five-for, as he also crossed the 100 first-class wickets milestone at the UBL Sports Complex.

OGDCL were restricted to 187 all out in 48.1 overs. In turn, Eshaal Associates were 110-4 in 34 overs, when stumps were drawn.

State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) Aftab Khan ran riot with the ball picking up 5-24 to dismiss Higher Education Commission (HEC) for 126 all out in 40 overs. Ali Hamza Wasim remained unbeaten for a 100-ball 57 hitting six fours.

In reply, SBP were reeling at 109-7 at close of play. HEC’s Waseem Akram picked up four wickets for 43 runs in 10 overs to help his team stage a comeback.

Zeeshan takes 5-37 as WAPDA enforce follow-on over SNGPL​


Water and Power Development Authority’s (WAPDA) fast bowler Mohammad Zeeshan bagged his maiden first-class five-for to rout Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited’s (SNGPL) batting as they were made to follow-on at the NBP Sports Complex on Sunday.

SNGPL were bundled out for a mere 98 in 38.1 overs in reply to WAPDA’s first innings total of 370 all out. Zeeshan took just 10.1 overs to bag his best first-class figures of 5-37. SNGPL faced just 2 overs following-on before stumps were drawn.

Earlier, WAPDA had resumed their first innings from overnight score of 285-5. SNGPL’s Mohammad Salman picked up 5-82, his second first-class five-for.

AT UBL Sports Complex, Eshaal Associates’ Azan Awais (100, 235b, 10x4s) brought up his sixth first-class century guiding his team to 325 all out from overnight score of 110-4 against Oil and Gas Development Company Limited. No.7 batter, Danish Aziz chipped in with an unbeaten 88 off 135 balls inclusive of eight fours and three sixes.

OGDCL’s Mushtaq Ahmed returned figures of 6-88 in 22 overs. In turn, OGDCL overcame the 138-run first innings deficit as they were 140 for no loss at stumps on day two with Hasan Raza (79 not out, 89b, 15x4s) and Sameer Saqib (48 not out, 81b, 6x4s, 1x6) unbeaten on the crease.

Higher Education Commission (HEC) bundled out State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for 155 in 46.2 overs after SBP had resumed their first innings from overnight score of 109-7. HEC’s Waseem Akram Jnr picked up 5-56 in 15.2 overs.

Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) beat Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) by nine wickets on the third day of the fifth round of President’s Trophy Grade-I at the NBP Sports Complex on Monday.

Following-on, SNGPL could manage 288 all out with the help of half-centuries from Abid Ali and Saad Khan, setting a 17-run target for WAPDA. Ali Raza picked up his second first-class five-wicket haul as he took 5-55 in 17.2 overs on day three. WAPDA chased the meagre target in 3.5 overs.

At the UBL Sports Complex, Eshaal Associates beat Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) by six wickets as they chased the 155-run target in 36.3 overs. Earlier in the day, OGDCL resumed their batting from overnight score of 140 for no loss but were dismissed for 292 all out.

OGDCL’s opening batter Sameer Saqib (125 not out, 250b, 18x4s, 1x6) carried the bat, while his fellow opener Hasan Raza struck 89 off 93 balls. Eshaal’s Nisar Ahmed returned match-winning figures of 30.5-8-82-5 in the second innings.

At KCCA Stadium, opening batter Kashif Ali struck 235-ball 133 with the help of 13 fours and two sixes as Ghani Glass finished with 329 all out setting Pakistan Television (PTV) 243-run target. PTV’s Mehran Sanwal picked up five wickets for 64 runs in 20.2 overs.

In turn, Shamyl Hussain struck an aggressive unbeaten century (120 not out, 122b, 13x4s, 2x6s), while Mohammad Taha chipped in with 68-ball 53 to take PTV to 204-2 at stumps on day three.

State Bank of Pakistan require 135 more runs to win against Higher Education Commission (HEC) as they finished the day three with 158-3 in 66 overs. Earlier, HEC were bowled out for 321 as they resumed their second innings from overnight score of 218-6.

SBP’s Mohammad Ismail returned figures of 23-3-97-5, while he was backed up by Rameez Aziz, who picked up 3-41.

Shamyl Hussain’s unbeaten 143 guided Pakistan Television (PTV) to a seven-wicket win over Ghani Glass in the fifth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I on Tuesday. At the SBP Sports Complex, SBP resumed their second innings on 158 for three in 66 overs, chasing a target of 293. They reached the total in the 100th over with six wickets down. Usman Salahuddin narrowly missed his 29th first-class century, top-scoring with 97 off 257 balls, hitting 13 boundaries. Test batter Fawad Alam contributed 52 off 101 balls, including five fours. HEC’s Waseem Akram Jnr stood out with the ball, taking two wickets in the innings and finishing with seven wickets in the match.

Over at KCCA Stadium, PTV opener Shamyl Hussain’s match-winning knock of 143 not out off 137 balls, featuring 14 fours and four sixes, secured PTV’s third win of the tournament. Starting the day on 204 for two, PTV needed just 39 more runs to seal the win. They reached the target in 4.2 overs, losing one wicket along the way.

Junaid, Rameez score centuries; Jawad and Kashif take five-fers​


Rameez Aziz struck an unbeaten century to help State Bank of Pakistan post 314 for five in 90 overs against Eshaal Associates on day one of the sixth round match of the President’s Trophy Grade-I on Friday. SNGPL’s Kashif Ali and KRL’s Jawad Ali bagged five-fers against HEC and Ghani Glass, respectively.

At UBL Sports Complex, batting first, HEC were bundled out for 179 in 43.4 overs against SNGPL. Mohammad Mohsin Khan top-scored for the side with 37. In turn, SNGPL were 100 for seven in 29 overs when stumps were drawn. HEC’s Maaz Khurram was the pick of the bowlers, bagging three wickets for 34.

At KCCA Stadium, Ghani Glass on the back of Junaid Ali’s 116 managed to score 390 for nine in 91.2 overs, when stumps were drawn. Junaid’s innings included 20 boundaries, which came off 148 balls. Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood was the other notable run-getter with a 60-ball 67, which included 12 fours.

KRL’s Jawad Ali grabbed five wickets for 115 runs, while Mohammad Qaisar took three wickets for 60.

Rameez Aziz’ eighth first-class century (135 not out, 180b, 21x4s) and half-centuries by Test batters Fawad Alam (59, 141b, 5x4s) and Imran Butt (55, 91b, 6x4s) lifted SBP to 314 for five in 90 overs against Eshaal Associates at SBP Sports Complex. For Eshaal Associates, Jalat Khan and Nisar Ahmed took two wickets each.

At Rashid Latif Cricket Academy Ground in Karachi, PTV, on the back of half-centuries by Waqar Hussain (78, 103b, 6x4s, 3x6s), Muhammad Shahzad (74, 74b, 8x4s, 2x6s) and Mohammad Taha (59, 97b, 7x4s) managed to score 375 for six in 90 overs.

For WAPDA, captain Khalid Usman was the most successful bowler, taking four wickets for 124 in 31 overs.

Faisal Akram's six-fer puts PTV in commanding position​


Faisal Akram’s six-wicket haul put PTV in a commanding position against WAPDA on day two of the sixth round match of the President’s Trophy Grade -I tournament on Saturday.

Resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 375 for six, PTV were bowled out for 421 in 102.5 overs at the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy. In turn, WAPDA were dismissed for 180 in 52.5 overs. PTV’s left-arm wrist spinner Faisal was the pick of the bowlers, bagging six wickets for 46. For WAPDA, Bismillah Khan top-scored with a 69-ball 56.

At stumps, PTV were 42 for three in 14 overs, leading by 283 runs.

At UBL Sports Complex, HEC extended their lead to 357 against SNGPL after Mohammad Mohsin Khan (105, 129b, 18x4s) helped HEC post 291 for nine in the second innings at stumps on day two. Earlier, resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 100 for seven, SNGPL were bowled out for 113 in 34.5 overs.

For HEC, Maaz Khurram, Muhammad Azab and Waseem Akram Jnr took three wickets each.

At KCCA Stadium, KRL were still trailing by 143 runs with six first innings wickets at hand against Ghani Glass when stumps were called on second day’s play. Rohail Nazir returned undefeated on 67 off 123 balls, which included five fours and two sixes. For KRL, Abdul Faseeh (77, 131b, 7x4s, 2x6s) and Waqar Ahmed (70, 175b, 6x4s) also scored half-centuries.

Earlier, Ghani Glass resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 390 for nine and were dismissed for 406 in 97.1 overs. KRL’s Jawad Ali took six wickets for 123 runs in 32.1 overs.

At SBP Sports Complex, SBP managed to add only 101 runs to their overnight score of 314 for five as the side were bundled out for 415 in 111.4 overs against Eshaal Associates. Rameez Aziz, who returned undefeated on 135, was dismissed for 180 off 238 balls, hitting 27 fours and one six.

For Eshaal Associates, Asad Raza, Jalat Khan and Nisar Ahmad picked three wickets apiece.

In turn, Eshaal Associates were 177 for five in 54 overs when stumps were called. Azan Awais top-scored for side with a 115-ball 57, smashing six boundaries.

HEC beat SNGPL by 160 runs in sixth round of President's Trophy​


Higher Education Commission defeated Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited by 160 runs in the sixth round match of the President’s Trophy Grade-I at UBL Sports Complex in Karachi on Sunday.

Set a target of 359 to win, SNGPL were dismissed for 198 in 59 overs. Haseebullah top-scored with 52, while Saifullah Bangash returned undefeated on 49. For the winning side, Waseem Akram Jnr bagged four wickets.

At KCCA Stadium, KRL’s Rohail Nazir scored 134 to give his side a 93-run first innings lead over Ghani Glass. For Ghani Glass, Mohammad Rameez Jnr bagged five wickets before his side reached 127 for two in 36 overs in their second innings, leading by 34 runs.

At the State Bank Sports Complex, SBP set a 362-run target for Eshaal Associates after declaring their second innings at 221 for three in 41 overs. SBP’s Ali Shan top-scored with an unbeaten 82.

At stumps, Eshaal Associates were 20 for two in six overs.

At the State Bank Stadium, Eshaal Associates had a target of 362 runs to win against State Bank, but the whole team was out for 197 runs. Umar Siddique was the top scorer with 47 runs.

Mohammad Abbas took 4 wickets for 57 runs. Fawad Alam dismissed three players.

WAPDA had a target of 354 runs to win against PTV at Rashid Latif Academy Ground. On the third day, he scored 180 runs for 3 wickets, today he scored 174 more runs needed for victory after the fall of four more wickets. Mohammad Arif got out after adding only 6 runs to his previous day's score of 101, after which Ayaz Kalpan scored 58 not out and Khalid Usman played an innings of 27 not out to make his team win.

Faisal Akram took three wickets thus he took 9 wickets in the match.

Ayaz and Saifullah strike centuries on opening day of seventh round​


Water and Power Development Authority’s (WAPDA) No.5 batter Ayaz Tasawar struck an unbeaten 113 as his team finished with 256-4 in 90 overs against Eshaal Associates on opening day of the seventh round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I at the NBP Sports Complex in Karachi.

After WAPDA were asked to bat first, they slid to 77-4 before Ayaz and Nabi Gul (67 not out, 217b, 6x4s, 2x6s) came together to stitch a 179-run stand for the fifth wicket. For Eshaal, Tahir Hussain had picked up two wickets.

At the SBP Sports Complex, Saifullah Bangash rescued Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) from 43-5 against Ghani Glass to take them to 266-7 at close of play with the help of a 103 not out off 183 balls hitting 13 fours.

Abid Ali (65, 104b, 7x4s, 1x6) and Yasir Shah (54, 101b, 7x4s) contributed with valuable half-centuries. Test fast bowler Khurram Shahzad bagged three wickets for Ghani Glass.

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) were 236-8 in 83 overs at stumps on day one against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) at the UBL Sports Complex.

Pakistan Television enforced follow-on over Higher Education Commission (HEC) on the second day of the seventh round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I at the KCCA Stadium, Karachi.

HEC folded for 179 all out in 47.2 overs in reply to PTV’s first innings total of 425. Ali Hamza Wasim managed 63 off 91 balls hitting 10 fours but in vain. For PTV Mehran Sanwal and Muhammad Shahzad picked up three wickets each. At stumps, HEC were 42-1 in 10 overs, trailing by 204 runs.

Earlier in the day, PTV had resumed their innings from overnight score of 321-6, and managed to 104 runs to their total. HEC’s Aaliyan Mehmood picked up four wickets.

Water and Power Development Authority’s (WAPDA) Nabi Gul brought up his fifth first-class century after his team resumed their from overnight score of 256-4. Nabi scored 148 off 319 balls hitting 15 fours and five sixes, while also sharing a double century partnership with Ayaz Tasawar.

Eshaal Associates’ Tahir Hussain returned figures of 30.4-5-107-6. In reply to WAPDA’s 391 all out, Eshaal were 208-6 at stumps courtesy Test batter Abdullah Shafique’s unbeaten 93 off 144 balls inclusive of 10 fours and one six.

Test fast bowler Khurram Shahzad picked up his 10th first-class five-fer as he returned figures of 5-70 in 20.5 overs for Ghani Glass against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) at the SBP Sports Complex, Karachi. SNGPL could only add four runs to their overnight total of 266-7 before they were bowled out.

In turn, Ghani Glass’ response was inspired by half-centuries by Ali Razzaq (90 not out, 161b, 9x4s, 2x6s) and Hammad Butt (61, 117b, 8x4s) as they finished the day with a two-run first innings lead and five wickets in hand.

At the UBL Sports Complex, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited lost their two wickets for addition as many runs after resuming their first innings from 236-8. Khan Research Laboratories’ Shahid Aziz bagged 6-57 in 25.4 overs.

In turn, KRL were bowled out for 174 in 54.1 overs, conceding a 64-run lead. OGDCL had collected 70 runs for the loss of one wicket in their second outing, when the stumps were drawn.
