MS Dhoni Out Or Not Out? Internet Split Over Chennai Super Kings Star's Controversial Dismissal

MS Dhoni's controversial dismissal left social media divided during Chennai Super Kings' IPL 2025 encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai on Friday. Dhoni came out to bat at No. 8 behind the likes of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja but he was dismissed for just 1. During the 16th over of the CSK innings, Dhoni was beaten by a delivery from Sunil Narine that crashed into his pads. The on-field umpire raised his finger but the veteran CSK star instantly went for a review. There were very small spikes in the UltraEdge when the ball went past the bat but the third umpire decided to stay with the existing decision. The decision led to a lot of chatter on social media with many criticising the third umpire for his call.

A completely disoriented Chennai Super Kings could manage only a paltry 103 for nine, their lowest total at the home ground Chepauk, as Kolkata Knight Riders dished out a clinical bowling show.

It was CSK's third lowest total in the IPL and the lowest by any team in this edition so far.

Veteran spinner Sunil Narine (3/13) grabbed three wickets, while Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy got two each after CSK were invited to bat. Nothing went right for CSK in their home ground as they could hit just nine boundaries (4 or 6) in the entire innings.

Shivam Dube top-scored with an unbeaten 31 off 29 balls, while Vijay Shankar made 29 after living a charmed life. Only two other CSK batters made runs in double-digit figures.

Things are pretty bad for CSK this time. This is the FIRST time CSK have lost five straight matches in an IPL season

Problem started with CSK in retention itself where they had to spend half of the money in retaining the players who are past their prime or not upto the modern t20 standards..Later they are left with lesser purse amount where they can only afford to buy only bits and pieces players..if you see the points table, the teams which retained the old players are at the bottom and teams which have completely revamped their team are at the top..

1. 1 player out 11 is not 5% even in normal maths
2. MSD's selection upsets their entire balance and they are basically 10 players with a walking wicket.
3. MSD takes away the focus from the result of the match and other good performers are not even talked about. All the commentary and fans are there for Dhoni's 6.
4. Dhoni is playing a role in their team selections and other decisions too, which are outdated.

I am a Punjab fan, nothing pleases me more than us thumping CSK for a change. :D

What walking wicket lol He has the most sixes. He has the best strike rate for his side. He shouldn't even be batting. That is how CSK line up is usually set up. Scoring 5 runs in first 3 overs is not fault of MSD. NOt the first time MSD has poor season. Heck entire 2007 world cup he didn't contribute anything. He is not a great T20 batsman anyway.

Its a team game. His presence affects the entire team. He is like Ronaldo. Ronaldo has gone to Saudi, has been scoring goals but his team has not won anything in the last two years because Ronaldo is bigger than the team. Same is the case happening here. Dhoni has become bigger than the team and every thing is just about "Thala" hitting a few sixes and maybe a lightening quick stumping, or the "Dhoni Review System" nostalgia is killing CSK results.

This Match is showing why class batsman are always treat to watch. GILL and Sudharsan has batted beautiful while rest are struggling :kp
 
LSG batting is mostly dependent on Marsh and Pooran. Marsh is not playing so GT needs to take Pooran wicket as soon as. :kp
 
Why Sai Sudharsan is not celebrated by the media and cricket experts/fans despite performing super consistently for past few years.. He need to assign some good PR to glorify him..

Sai deserved to play in ODI cricket. no place for him in T20 team as we have better hitter then him. :kp

I want to appreciate and enjoy Prabhsimran’s intent and aggression but then you have clowns like @Devadwal here who do not reciprocate the same respect for young Pakistan players trying to take the game on and labelling them as Tullahs.

No edge or anything else. Whenever batsman score a six over extra cover and over bowlers head means proper hitting. But tullebaaz supporter won't understand This.

6 hitting is the way to go in T20s. Whichever teams hits more sixes generally wins
