That's why MI are dangerous in playoffs... Looks like match is slipping away from GT... Punjab is already demoralized... So RCB facing MI looks more realistic...

MI is already won the match. Congratulations :kp
That's OK, its better RCB faces MI if they have to win the cup! Otherwise people (especially CSK fans) may put an asterisk over the triumph... May call it being lucky, fluke, etc... (or even perhaps may claim it to be fixed)... But if CSK/MI are the opponents you know they are the better exponents of the fx-thing, then RCB won't get that blame!

So king of soft runs aka gill did nothing again In a crucial match.am not sure how does that guy perform as a test captain in an away series

THANK YOU, SAI SUDHARSAN

760 runs from 15 innings, A season to remember, he has turned to Mr Consistent for Gujarat Titans, many many good things will come in future for Sai, one hell of a season for the Youngster.

Qualifier - 2
Punjab Kings have won the toss and have opted to field

Punjab Kings (Playing XI): Priyansh Arya, Josh Inglis(w), Shreyas Iyer(c), Nehal Wadhera, Marcus Stoinis, Shashank Singh, Azmatullah Omarzai, Kyle Jamieson, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal

Mumbai Indians (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma, Jonny Bairstow(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya(c), Naman Dhir, Mitchell Santner, Raj Bawa, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, Reece Topley

:kp

MI -203/6 in 20 over.

Just a reminder, Mumbai Indians have NEVER lost an IPL game after setting a 200+ target .

Can PBKS make history by chasing 204? Highly unlikely

:kp

TBH MI looking a better team to qualify for the finals... dont think PBKS can chase this target

Three consecutive six by Iyer against Topley

PBKS 128/3. They need 76 runs in 7 overs.

Bumrah has 2 crucial over left

:kp

No words left for Shreyas Iyer honestly. What a story this is. From winning the IPL with KKR last season to taking PBKS to the final with his leadership skills as well his batting. You cannot stop praising this guy if you’re watching him in the field. Well deserving Finalists

:kp

What a Gigachad knock from Shreyas Iyer

He is in some serious form as a batter and as a leader

The best white ball batter in the country and arguably in the world

Don't know why but seeing mumbai losing is increase my happiness just like everytime india win . I absolutely hate Mumbai and CSK. :kp

So we are going to have a new IPL winner. How cool and exciting is that!!

No more Mumbai, Chennai, KKR hegemony

The boundary Iyer hit of Bhumrah awkward wide of crease in slanting yorker behind the slips was a thing of beauty

AB de Villiers called it shot of the IPL.

Incredibly difficult. Some supernatural skill that. He did it a few times yesterday. Shreyas Iyer is inevitable in white ball cricket.

RCB know every well what’s coming to confront them in the final. Punjab is destined to win this IPL. It’s written. Sorry Virat. This is our moment! 💪🏻

Credit to Josh Inglis. He smashed Bumrah for 20 in an over and that filled the whole team with passion and confidence. Inglis do it again in the final bro.

Pure emotions on Ricky Ponting’s face.

The man has won a record 5 ICC trophies and yet after all these years this still means so much to him. Bet if given a choice he would pad up and go in there himself 🔥

Shreyas Iyer has shut everyone's mouth regarding his weakness (short ball against pacers). If you can play yorker like that against one of the ATG bowlers of the game, then that's a serious skill (don't mind having some odd weakness).

Its going to be a cracker of Final... RCB vs Punjab. Definitely its going to be a lot closer game, and Punjab should be pumped up to take revenge against RCB... RCB has the pressure of expectations (18 years), Punjab will be slightly relaxed (though even for them its a maiden title) and Iyer (captain) has already won it once (just last year) and that's going to help them! But no major players in RCB (I think) have been part of IPL-triumph! Skill-wise RCB is better, but momentum & pressure-wise Punjab will be more relaxed...

This was the difference. Mumbai was counting on bumrah for 2 for 26 type of spell and he leaked 15 runs too many and didnt take any wicket. That is what made huge diff at the end.

I too wish a good luck for Punjab (no issues if they win). But please don't be too harsh at RCB, wish us good luck too, you know how much the fans are craving for it :D

Just friendly banter brother.

If not Punjab, we will all be happy to see Virat bhai get one finally. Despite his antics, he's been a national icon and won us countless important matches. Forever indebted to Virat bhai.

These Aussies just know how to take the opponent's rail off the track. Always they come up with out of the box plans with such fearless approach.

Had Bumrah got a grip on yesterday's match he would have won it for Mumbai.

The final is at Ahmedabad. I hope there is a good crowd for the final given despite the fact that its not home ground for either of the two finalists.

I think going forward, its probably fair to host play off matches at home ground of the team ending the season higher on the table.

Let the lower seed face hostile home crowd. It adds life to big matches.

Heard that they have hiked the prices by 2 to 3 folds ever since they came to know RCB have made the finals! All tickets could be sold out by now! Playoffs will pull crowds regardless of the teams and venues! Been like that at least for like 10 years now in IPL....

Can someone please explain to me why IPL is so hidden on cricinfo? Is someone scared after the downing of the Raphaels? 🛩️

I have not watched a single IPL game, to be honest. I felt it was too long to even waste my time on it... Anyways, RCB should win this one... Just for the sake of saving themselves from another choke... They are already called chokers anyway, but this is gonna be a permanent seal on that title of CHOKERS.

IPL shifted.

IPL playoffs, final venues change not politically motivated: BCCI's Rajeev Shukla

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has dismissed claims that the decision to move the IPL 2025 playoffs and final matches out of Kolkata was politically motivated. The tournament, which had been suspended due to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, resumed a week later and has been extended until 3 June.

BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla clarified on Monday that the rescheduling and relocation of key matches were driven purely by weather-related concerns and logistical challenges, not by any political considerations.

The IPL playoffs were initially scheduled to be hosted in Hyderabad and Kolkata. However, following the tournament’s resumption, the playoffs were relocated to New Chandigarh (Mullanpur) and Ahmedabad. The final, originally slated for 25 May, was postponed to 3 June. The playoffs commenced on 27 May, with Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator taking place in Mullanpur without any weather disruptions.

However, on 1 June, Qualifier 2 between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians was delayed by two hours due to rain in Ahmedabad. This prompted criticism from a section of fans who questioned the rationale behind moving the match from Kolkata, especially as weather conditions in Ahmedabad also proved unpredictable.

“People should not look for any politics here, the matches that have been shifted. This decision was not politically motivated,” Shukla told news agency ANI. He explained that had the IPL proceeded according to its original schedule, without the interruption caused by the India-Pakistan conflict, the final would have taken place in Kolkata on 25 May, and the playoffs in Hyderabad.

With the revised schedule, however, weather forecasts for Kolkata became a significant concern. "Broadcaster too said that the weather in Kolkata is predicted to be bad on the said days, there is likely to be rainfall, the match can be washed out and they would suffer heavy losses. They requested a venue where the rainfall is less likely,” Shukla said.

He further explained that multiple venues were assessed, including Delhi, Lucknow, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chandigarh, and Ahmedabad. Weather reports indicated that rainfall was least likely in Chandigarh and Ahmedabad, prompting the decision to relocate the matches to these cities. “It was not just about Kolkata. We had to change venue many times in the past as well. So, this is nothing new... So, there is no political conspiracy here... Inaugural ceremony was held in Kolkata,” Shukla added.

The move has drawn criticism from the West Bengal government. State Sports Minister Aroop Biswas on Sunday evening reiterated allegations of political influence in the venue change.

“I previously addressed the media during a press conference regarding the political motivations behind the decision to relocate the playoffs and final matches from Eden Gardens. Recent developments have further illuminated this issue,” Biswas said in a statement.

Over years, the finalists of the previous edition have always hosted the playoffs and final of the subsequent edition.

I have been a RCB fan for more than a decade now. Used to be a KKR fan for first 2 years but after SRK dumped Ganguly and made McCullum captain, I switched.

We RCB fans have seen all -

Heartbreaks of 2011 final against arch rivals CSK

Heartbreak of 2016...how did we lost that with Kohli in that kind of form? More importantly how can we lose with a batting line up of Gayle, Kohli, AB, KL & Watson?

Vijay Mallya ki kasam......this year is our #Mauka

So folks, which one is your most favourite IPL Final so far?

1748939763318.png

For me, its the 2012 one.

Manvinder Bisla will remain in our memories forever for that knock.
