Deccan won the toss and elected to field.

Laxman not playing, gilly the captain. Expect Afridi to open.

OOOH!!!! Afridi to open....This could be a massacre :D

afridi should open the bowling with the way the deccan chargers have been bowling

beast wants to give the opponent maximum runs so he can feast on the poor souls later on

Good catch in the outfield by RP Singh. Ball was in the air for a long time and had to make a lot of ground.
End of Parthiv Patel. Still cant believe hes the same age as me. When I first saw him he looked more like my younger brothers age, who would have been 11 at the time...

the magnetic polarity of the Beast was reversed prior to the match so the ball couldnt be stopped by the Beast, since everything is noow being repelled, although the adjustment will be made ASAP....

Exactly! Make no bones about it, I want Chennai to hit 500 runs here

It seems that the chargers are more energetic than usual - the bowler bowled with purpose - perhaps they are all excited to play without laxman

:))) :))) :))) :))) genius beastology!!

yep, as I mentioned earlier, Afridi has made the adjustment of the magnetic(or should I say Beastic) polarity, and the ball has suddenly started to attract towwards him....

And repel his bat?? :21:

they are fantastic without laxman - maybe laxman's presence made the team atmosphere lazy and laid back - with gilly alone running the show this team appears so much more committed.

not at all, the sheer intensity of the Beastic Field causes the ball to approach his bat at a velocity not known to mankind, and therefore unless the goat-oak with which his bat is made is nuclearly capable of withstanding the force, the ball ends up going only a short distance....this explains why the Beast oftne hits a six and gets out, the goat-oak's resistance is diminished greatly by the high velocity of the ball caused by the Beastic Field....

OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Beast takes a wicket in his first over!!!

poor old Badrinath had to pay the price after Raina had angered Afridi....good comeback, hope he bowls well and gets a few more wickets...

That was a quality catch by Gibbs. Catching has been pretty good today by the Chargers

Funny how a 10 year old player can STILL fluke it in his PRIME years.. and a new boy coming in, not even had 1 year exposure to cricket is a legend already!! so much bias chi chi chi

I cant believe how well Afridi is bowling in the IPL, surely he's one of the top wicket takers?

Afrdi's bowling too a fluke these days :)) :))
i disagree - i think he has been bowling a mixed bag on purpose - with afridi he always gets a wicket after getting hit for a couple of boundaries - much like his batting...lol

he only has 7 in the tourney now. Not at the top but bowling well enough anyways

Completely agreed, Afridi's Man of the Series award in the 20-20 World Cup was no fluke.

He's one of the only genuine strike-bowling spinners in cricket.

I'm sure you are not watching it!!!! barring one game, his bowling was just 'decent' :) :)

Cricinfo:

7.6 Styris to Raina, 1 run, tight line and length from Styris outside off stump, Fleming punches off the front foot towards mid-off and sprints the single, the overthrow goes towards fine leg but Fleming had run a long way past his stumps and couldn't take advantage of it

back to doing what they do best....

He's now joint 3rd after today's wicket so far...

actually I think that the stats are updating in realtime because his stats on the television screen showed him with 6 wickets and a lower economy rate than it is showing on cricinfo now. That is his current stats (and his economy keeps getting worse :P)

Afridi is ruining the good work done in the intial overs...hope he starts bowling better, Chargers really need a win tonight....

Raina really targeting Afridi now as he hits him for another 4

60-4 after 9
of course he will - indian batsmen always target the spinner because often they are clueless against bounce and pace

its 20/20 - someone has to get hit

Bangar to Raina, OUT, what a soft dismissal! Bangar goes round the wicket and delivers a low full toss outside off stump, Raina drives at it and chips the ball in the air and straight to Sharma at cover, Raina's gone after getting well set

I knew that was four without even watching a replay. Unbelievable that the third umpire couldn't detect it after 4 slow motion replays.

wooo hooooooooooooooooo Dhoni OUT !!! get the champagne out boys
(non-alcoholic ofcourse)

Seems like spin is dhoni's weakness, just don't pitch it too full or wide and you have dhoni struggling.

Afridi set up that shot and catch perfectly. Dhoni out ct by Afridi
86-6 after 14.5

how is it ONE sided? its still in balance... theres still 5 overs to go and DC have to bat !!

come on Asif - wot game are you watching?

i thought you'd be happy at deccans doing well.. :9:

thats why i came down from crying to just sniffing. mixed emotions cos deccan is doing well and i am unable to follow it:P

Afridi with the catch, thank god he is holding onto the catches, he dropped one or two in Bangladesh series, so I guess hes made an improvement to his catching, needs to work on his ground fielding too...
