Which side will win the match between the arch-rivals?

In the end, India won fair and square. Pakistan team is way behind the top 5 teams right now. No point of Pakistanis engaging Indians in a banter when there’s no competition between them. Not a single player in the team who has secured his playing position.

It took India 18.5 overs to chase this down.

Pakistan bowled well after 10th over. They pulled things back quite a bit.

I think Pakistan were 20 runs short and bowling in the first 10 overs wasn't very good.

India are way ahead of Pakistan unfortunately. India produced a subpar game but still won at a canter. They completely choked us in the middle overs with spin meaning we ended up 30-40 runs short for a team batting first in Dubai against India. Bowling was shocking too, didn't even look remotely threatening - Shaheen is a shadow of his former self but still far and away better than any other quick in Pak. Talent is at an all-time low. We should look forward to beating the likes of SL and BD, whilst aiming for damage limitation against the big sides.

I first came to this forum back in 2009 or 2010. At that time, it was mostly boomers here with some millennials. No Gen Z then as they were kids.

Last 4-5 years, more Gen Z posters started to post. Demographics and vibe have changed here. It is a new era for PP. :inti

I sometimes feel like a grandpa here even though I am a millennial. Many young posters now.
But I am Gen Z. I'm 25 born 2000, and gen Z is 1996 to 2012.

Unless provoked, I never attack anyone? You are older then me bro yet you and I have amazing discussions?

So it's clearly not a generation thing

That’s the difference between you and me. I support my team during bad days as well. The day you understand that, you can call yourself adult🤭
Tell this to your fellow Pakistan posters who becomes wannabe supporters after india thrashing to Pakistan in 2023 Asia cup . :klopp :kp

It looked that way because India didn’t want to hasten the chase and do it in a secure manner. India would win if the target was 200. Pakistan lost the completely completely with the garbage strategy of the captain both while batting and fielding.

Both Gill and Abhishek that were sledged answered with the bat as well in the same game.
Keep doing that.

But I’m happy Pakistan gave them something beyond the game. It was India who wanted this.

I’m happy they received it.

Needed to get Abhishek out quickly. If Pakistan did that, I think India could've lost this.

Abhishek took the game away.

Abhishek could've been run-out much earlier. Haris missed a run-out chance.

Extremely shocking to know this, I remember one time Hasnain Naseem Shaheen were being the trio that will take over, I haven't followed Pak domestics since 2022 so hard to say.

It was Gill today that played a surprising innings, Abhishek plays that way, Gill on such pitches was allowed to accelerate that made it too easy for Abhishek.

I am just pretending to not follow cricket meeting any Indians in person today. So hard to support this team but still the coolest cricketing nation 🇵🇰

Abhishek like Sachin is too papu to sledge.

He had baffled expressions during face off with Harris and was careful after that:afridi.
At the end of the day he delivered with his bat. And that's all that matters. Some players are naturally aggressive like Kohli while others just prefer to let their performance speak for itself. I see no problem with either as long as you are getting the job done as a player.

Pakistani players of late lack the will to keep improving once they get financially stable.

So let me break down the chronology:
  1. India thrash Pakistan on Sept 14.
  2. No handshake. Dressing room door slammed. Captain dedicates win to Indian Army.
  3. PCB gets triggered - demands Pycroft’s removal.
  4. ICC laughs it off.
  5. PCB writes again: “Remove Pycroft or we boycott UAE game!”
  6. Players locked in hotel, captain ducks pre-match presser.
  7. Emergency meeting: Naqvi + Ramiz + Sethi.
  8. Suddenly Naqvi tweets: “All good now, Pycroft apologized.” 🙄
  9. PCB releases a muted video of “apology” 🤣
  10. Pycroft stays as referee.
  11. Pak qualify for Super 4 to meet India again on 21st.
  12. Captain AGAIN cancels PC. Motivational coach hired. Naqvi + Aqib fly in to “boost morale.”
  13. Outcome? India beat them again, same Pycroft in charge, no handshake once more.

From “fake bravery” to “mute apology video” to losing again — this has to be the most humiliating week in cricketing history for any team.

:klopp
they were staring at losses over 130 crores.....saara jazba phish phish phish

Yes he should emulate Sehwag. Calm demeanor generally suits batsmen.

Besides Gambhir, the others were putting on a show

They were all buddies off the field

Gambhir never was one of the boys.
I don't really believe there is any malice between these players either. What happens on the field stays on the field. In the heat of the moment anyone can have a disagreement. This is the first time there has even been a moment like in a Pakistan-India match in forever.

Copy pasted the name given by Brits is all you did. Chappa factory since beginning. :afridi

And yet, we made us to be World's third biggest economy , while the other country who took a fancy name , is still roaming globally for billions , which our smallest states makes in a month .

Hate factory 💋

Sorry there is banter and sometimes it gets heated which is somewhat acceptable but mocking religions is a step too far.

Casually mocking Islamic sayings is crossing that line.

Its clear to see those doing it and those supporting it like @RyanRyan10. @gazza619 nicely asked you to get an education but it seems like you instead went to BJP university.

You guys won, congratulations, but it says a lot that your first reaction is to mock religions and justify it.

You are not upset over anyone mocking religion because no one actually did. You are one of those guys who promoted the lie that Shami was stopped from doing Sajda, along with the desperate boomers. You guys were trying to guilt trip @Mesozoic but I explained to him what was going on so you started issuing certificates to me lmao. And please don't tag me again. I don't engage with a crooked and manipulative individual like you, who has more than one account here.

There is malice between these players now.

India have done this.

Your Cricket board decided to play this tournament even after the incidents in May. They cared more about money and hosting big tournaments in the future over the lives of your innocent civilians killed and dead soldiers.

They even made the schedule to include multiple Ind V Pak games and this was in agreement with Sony (an Indian broadcaster). BCCI had enough money that they could have cancelled the Asia Cup and hosted a 4 team tournament with Sony as the broadcaster and they would have managed to cover the costs but no they didn’t have the self respect to do this.

The only people who should feel humiliated is you guys lol because it’s your government that gave the green light. You yourself kept saying there would be no matches before the tournament. No one expected Pak to beat India at this current stage so it’s not humiliating in any way.

Sehwag was next level. I dunno if anyone can emulate him.:viru

His level of confidence and arrogance was just insane. A player like that doesn't come around too often.

I don't think he even considered spinners to be bowlers lol.
well said.

No one can match Viru...atleast in Tests..

t20s are like mast malangi cricket.

even those with pathetic techniques can have their field day

but u need Jigar and G mei D to score 150s 200s 300s even on rail road pitches...so many tests happen on batting tracks ..but we are yet to see a 300 or even a 250 like Viru did vs Steyn Gun Xi

I’d have given you a history lesson if you weren’t an alt and a hater.
And that history lesson would not change facts.

The Republic of India is the successor state of British India like Russia is of the USSR, not Ukraine. France is of the French 4th Republic, not Algeria. After 71, West Pakistan is Pakistan not East Pakistan (who had more people).

Lol it was India since forever.

You are the rump state.

The cricket team that defeated you today is older than your state.

There is no mention of "Pakistan" before the 20th century.

Even the ocean is named after us lol.

India was formed in 1947.

Before Mughals, India was divided into many small kingdoms.

Mughals and sultanates solidified all those kingdoms. British Empire gave it the final touch.

Mughals and sultanates are technically the fathers of what is now known as "India". This is as per factual history.:inti

Sehwag is gifted. YOu can't say abhishek is gifted. Abhishek over a period improved his game and taken it in different direction. To play like Sehwag you have to be born like him. THe way he carved Murali and Rangana herath during his carnage at Brabourne where he made 284 runs in 2.5 sessions of a day cannot be replicated by anybody. Same way after being on the field for nearly 2 days came out against Steyn and Ntini he made 254 runs in a single day finishing up with 309.

If your eyes are blind to the mocking of religious phrases then you are a lost cause.

I only have one username since my time posting here.

I will tag you when I feel like, especially when you try to justify the mocking of our religion. Don't worry. You cannot try to put constraints on my movements. I am not a Indian Muslim.

It is always funny when these sanghis try to mock. They end up looking silly. It is like Stuart Broad trying to sledge with a Barbie-like face. :inti

What is the need to say insha'Allah in mocking way brother?

Do we ever use their slogans?

They have a weird obsession with Islam and Muslims.

Yet @RyanRyan10 doesn't even have the decency to acknowledge it. Instead he says it's a non issue.

Imagine in food thread you posted picture of beef burger and said jai Sri ram. They would rightly get hurt.

Of course you would never do it as you are a decent person but why do they say these words?

Bro you are talking about a Cricket match lol please send this to the widows of the soldiers killed in May and please let me know there reaction. I don’t think they would really care about India winning today. We are like on Bangladesh level, won may 3 4 games in the last 25 against the big teams so losing today isn’t really humiliating, we played better than expected.

Like I said in my previous post, money and hosting big tournaments is worth more than your soldiers and civilians so enjoy the victory today. I actually have respect for the Indians who are boycotting because at least they are taking a stand.

The Gangetic plains have much more in common with the Indus Valley than with deccan but topic for some other thread. Request to mods to plz close this thead now 😂

So far Abhi is masking the out of form players like SKY, Samson big time. I will be kind to Samson. After scoring 3 centuries as opener dropping him down the order to accommodate Gill is unfair

They are digging a big hole for themselves.

As they say --> pride often comes before downfall.

I expect Indians to be humbled very soon. They are becoming regionally and globally isolated. They are experiencing setbacks after setbacks. :inti

Decent people also don't use racist slurs like pa*eet which is freely accepted on this forum nowadays.

Agree completely.

Alot of time in cricket you see players with obvious talent but mentally they don't have it. Some obvious examples off the top of my head; Greame Hick, Kim Hughes, Mark Ramprakash. But Sehwag not only had an abundance of talent, he also knew he did.

The Brabourne knock is one of his best but I also rate the Galle double ton very highly. Scoring 200* at a SR of 80+ against Murali and peak-Ajantha Mendis on a turning Galle track where no one else even got past 50 was pretty outstanding. No one else even scored a 100 in the rest of the match. It was also his innings that ended up being the difference between the two sides because India ended up winning that match by 170 runs.

The way he picks the length of spinners is next level. He can play through 2 or 3 areas from same standing position at will. It is the adjustment. He likes challenges too. I remember in the ROW vs Australia test where Warne set a fielder specifically for a shot. He challenge him and got out. Brian Lara, Inzamam also played for rest of the world. He made 76 in 82 balls.

I just want India Pakistan cricket to go back to these days. After today and the handshake drama in the last game, it seems like it will.

But Pakistan will look pretty stupid if they keep losing. Nobody expects them to dominate India, but atleast get the odd win every now and then

Agreed. A bit of bite is fine in sports. There's no need to be too stiff upper lip.

Speaking as an Indian, I wouldn't mind you guys winning once in every 5 games or so. My wife was making fun of me for cancelling shopping to watch the game today. She was like - "it's going to be a win anyway and you'll crib about how boring it was later." I had to resort to "but it's India vs. Pakistan."

I can relate to this but in the opposite way.

My friends wanted me to join them for Chinese hot pot today and were making fun of me when I told them that I wanted to watch the game. They were like - "You know Pakistan will lose anyway", and I then I had to resort to "but it's Pakistan vs. India." :wahab2

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the game more than I did.

India secured a six-wicket victory over Pakistan in the 14th match of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday evening. The defeat marked Pakistan’s first setback in the Super Four stage. They are scheduled to face Sri Lanka next in the 15th match of the tournament in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, 23 September.

Put into bat, Pakistan managed 171 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan led the charge with a top score of 58 off 45 balls, including five boundaries and three sixes. He shared a 21-run opening stand with Fakhar Zaman (15 off 9 balls, 3x4s) before putting on a 72-run partnership for the second wicket with Saim Ayub (21 off 17 balls, 1x4, 1x6).

A late cameo from Faheem Ashraf, who remained unbeaten on 20 off just eight balls, hitting two sixes and a four, gave Pakistan a boost. Captain Salman Ali Agha also finished unbeaten with 17 runs from 13 balls, including one six.

Shivam Dube was India’s most effective bowler, claiming 2 wickets for 33 runs.

In reply, India chased down the target comfortably in 18.5 overs, losing four wickets in the process. Openers Abhishek Sharma (74 off 39 balls, 6x4s, 5x6s) and Shubman Gill (47 off 28 balls, 8x4s) laid a strong platform with a 105-run partnership for the first wicket. Tilak Varma then guided India to victory with an unbeaten 30.

For Pakistan, Haris Rauf took 2 wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf picked up one wicket each.

At the end of the day he delivered with his bat. And that's all that matters. Some players are naturally aggressive like Kohli while others just prefer to let their performance speak for itself. I see no problem with either as long as you are getting the job done as a player.
Yeah but he needs to embrace the truth that they were coming at him because team India started this cringe behaviour not rauf not Shaheen

Actually Shaheen started it - he started abusing Shubhman after that first 6 off him.

I don't recall Gill or Abhishek saying anything. It was Surya who was running his mouth.
Abhishek is a soft guy.

It is not even about Pakistani forum. It is common decency. These guys are deeply anti Muslim. Even @Romali_rotti mocks these sayings but he is an alcoholic so I don't say too much.

I like to have a few beers cuz, but I am no alcoholic...

I was even hoping Pakistan beats India in this match, Indian fatigue is starting to get to me a little.

I have lost count of the number of times Gill has put Shaheen in his place (U19 WC, 2023 Asia Cup, 2025 CT) . But still the latter had a go at him and got his rear end handed back to him on a plate.

Loved the moment when Gill pasted him though the covers and pretty much said "Jaa ball utha ke aa".... :ROFLMAO:

Asia cup was always an excuse to get pak and ind play 3 matches. 🥱 I think I’ll come back for the final now.
