IPL in UAE has badly exposed PSL in UAE

IPL and its true value has been badly exposed. When faced with international quality bowling attacks Indian greats have been left wanting.

I would like to just call out mamoon! U need to apologise for being so anti Pakistan! I hope u realise just like what the miandad six do to india this 10 wicket bashing will leave its impact for years to come. We have exposed them so badly they look like minnows and at this rate I wouldn't be surprised that Afghanistan also owns them! Psl over ipl any day. India should always plays ipl they aren't cutout of international t20s!

This is one of the funniest bumps I've ever seen. One shouldn't be so one-sided in their analysis. Give credit when it's due but also support your team.

India one year before playing IPL = 1 T20 Trophy

India after playing 14 editions of IPL = 0 T20 Trophy

And the 14 editions of IPL include 2 in UAE where WorldCup is being played and these Indians played here in those editions!

I have been saying for many years that IPL is hyped too much due to the amount of money on offer.Top players from around the world play IPL not because it has the highest quality of cricket. It is because of money.Other leagues don’t offer the same but standard of cricket is not as bad as Indians think.

Hahha . OP used to give big lectures how Pakistan is going down hill and India will thrash Pakistan in UAE . Gone into hiding now

Pakistan trashed India becouse they are used to the conditions and they were playing NT20 before they came to the world cup

UAE is Pakistans home
No one is taking that title from us
You take cricket away from our country only to enable us to make UAE our fortress for 10 years.
Well maybe not quite a fortress but definitely a formidable team in this country.

Delusional Pakistani fans said the same after the Champions Trophy Final. We were told that this 180 runs thrashing will mentally scar India and Pakistan will now dominate them in the future.

However, India responded by thrashing Pakistan in the next three ODIs to once again prove that one result doesn’t mean anything or have any long-term implications.

People love a good dramatic story. Miandad’s six had no long term implications on the psychology of Pakistan and Indian cricket. No individual moment has any long term implications because it all depends on the relative strengths of the side.

Pakistan won more matches from India in the 80s and 90s not because Miandad hit a full toss for six but because Pakistani had better players. As a result, they won more matches.

Indian players held their nerve in World Cup matches though, and I wonder why the Miandad six didn’t help Pakistani players beat India in World Cups?

Pakistan is not a better team than India today. Not in any format and it is not even close. They have simply played better over the past few days. That is all.

Mamoon would have you believe that a superstar team like India can pick and choose when to perform. This current bunch are chokers who have zero ICC event successes to show since 2013. This team is an abject failure. India held their nerve to beat Pak in World Cup matches you say? Where was that nerve when it really mattered? This team with Kohli, Rohit etc? Or is beating pakistan given the same equivalence to winning the trophy? On current evidence, Pakistan bats better, fields better and bowls better than India - so by those measures Pakistan are a better side than India.

I think India hasn't recovered from the 10 wickets loss against Pakistan. No matter how hard our players and fans try to downplay this rivalry, fact is it has a very big impact on our players mind. I still can't forget that Aane Do series, Afridi's hundred in Kanpur, Shoaib's two wickets in two balls, CT 2017 final. This 10 wicket win stays right up there with those moments. :inti

The UAE leg of PSL has always proved to be a dull affair with the odd exciting match. Scratchy, sluggish batting, over-reliance on spin bowlers etc.

However, IPL in UAE has showed that the problem is more with the lack of quality players in PSL rather than the nature of pitches.

This year’s IPL so far has been as good as any other IPL. Players like KL Rahul, Samson, Agarwal, Rohit, Faf, Bairstow, Gill etc. have light up UAE with some hugely entertaining performances.

Bear in mind that they playing in empty stadiums as well. The entertainment factor has still been top notch.

We need to address the elephant in the room - PSL’s standard of batting is shockingly poor and you cannot have a high quality T20 league without high quality batsmen.

If you compare IPL in UAE with PSL in UAE, it would prove to be a very embarrassing comparison for PSL.

Pakistani leg of PSL is better but still far behind UAE IPL.

IPL really is the gold standard of T20 cricket. It clearly deserves the success that it has enjoyed.

Fantastic analysis, I am enjoying your comments. I know Pakistan is rubbish, no quality, no passion. Indian team is way better and IPL is an excellent league. Anyway, enjoy the T20 WC. England is favourite at the moment BTW. :bobs

India looked shell shocked as they entered the pitch against NZ, like a team wondering what would happen next. They were all told they were super stars, Bumrah was a speed demon was 100% accuracy, the openers could blast their way to 70 off the first 6, Kohli was the best thing on 2 legs etc etc etc. As they stood on the pitch, their hammering against Pakistan and a decade without a trophy truly haunted them.

Kohli's weak, nonsensical press conference about body language was a joke.

But no worries, next IPL season all of these guys will once again be the greatest cricketers ever.

I think Pakistan got the advantage with toss and conditions and ofcourse credit where due they played very well too but everywhere else except UAE (that too only in T20 format), if Pakistan plays India in any format, I think India should come up as a better side quite comfortably.

I am not sure about Pakistan's middle order on relatively faster wickets as I feel the likes of Asif Ali might get exposed quite easily there and Malik and Hafeez couldn't really get a better condition than UAE at this age to play a World Tournament.

They have got three world class players - Babar, Rizwan and Shaheen, however, rest could well be just walking wickets everywhere else.

MashaAllah

You have always been a right hand man to Mamoon. Just like Batman has Robin, Mamoon has you.

I hope you are also enjoying this World Cup

This an extremely arrogant post.

In test matches we haven't played each other in over a decade so I don't know how you came to your conclusion in this format? You can harp on about beating the Aussies in Australia but the fact remains that unless they play each other in a series you're just speculating. For the record, Pakistan did extremely well in Tests between 2010 and 2020, that too playing mainly in the UAE. They remained unbeaten in the UAE and England and really should have won the series in England in 2020 had it not been for some poor captaincy from Azhar Ali.

In ODI's you only have to go back to the last bi lateral series which Pakistan won.

Finally, if you analyse the Pakistani players and compare them like by like with ay other team, including India, then you'll see that Pakistan actually has a very decent set of players.

So, like a said, your post is extremely arrogant and you won't really know until they play Bi Laterals.

Sure. But the tournament is being played here. Not somewhere else, so that point is useless.

It is just funny because Mamoon was talking how crappy PSL batsmen were cause of low scores. Forward a few months and we are getting low scores in T20 WC (so all international batsmen suck - including the mighty Finch, Warner and Maxwell?). While he suggested IPL was more entertaining just because of high scores? Which also meant much higher quality batsmen? The same quality that scored less than six a over yesterday.

Lets call a spade a spade. IPL produced concrete pitches that fooled casual cricket fans like Mamoon. If PSL had high scores, he prob say we are making flat pitches and PSL is money hungry.

The point being...the narrative always fits. What a coincidence.
