If Sami and Rao can add 50, what does it say about the pitch? Pakistan bowling lacks discipline, I doubt you will see a Botha-like-spell from one of our larke.
 
poor inzi slowily loosing his touch
younis has been extremely dissapointng though well everyone has been disspointing only malik and rao have come good and gul too
 
Rao and Sami are batting better than most of our batsmen at the moment. I was really expecting Younis Khan to atleast get to double figures. Next Captain my butt.
 
I would prefer Rao with the new line. All we need is a good line to the 5-6 left handers.
Sami is not v good against lefties.
 
What would be a decent score in this situation?? I mean can Pakistani bowlers do the job and get Ireland out for 130, 150, 170 ???
 
Ok u guys, if Pakistan is going to lose atleast lose some wickets to langsford. He is in my fantasy league.
 
175 will be a good score.
Anything lower we will have to ball well with very few no and wide balls.

I think we can defend 200.
 
Rao and Sami keep on batting.. inshallah we should get around 150/170.. i think that shud be enuff
 
Pakistan will have to bowl out of their skins in either scenario...Pakistan should try really hard to get at least 15 to 20 runs more minimum...realistically speaking, given the capability of Rao and Sami.
 
Gul and Rao should start the bowling. We cannot afford eratic bowling in the begining to take off the pressure.

The commentators think that Pakistan bowlers will be able to make out most of these condiions.
Also Irelans'd first 5 batsmen are left-handers and Gul is supposingly good against left-hadners!!!!

Any comments??
 
i think we can defend anything above 140 so just need theses two to keep going
 
is the pitch so bad?

perhaps this is the lowest point and from here it is all good.

you tguys think with 160 we can win

i dont know if the pitch is easing
i hope not
but i have no clue
and our bowlers are better which shoudl even it out
its going to be a struggle for irish for sure
 
if we can get four irish wickets fir 70 odd i think the pressure will be too much for the minnows, gul is t our man.

Just to be on the safe side someone should sneak in a few dozen drinks into the irish dressing room between innings!

We need to build a decent score to put the ireland batsmen under pressure. If we can, then we should beat them.
 
These two are showing if you are willing you can bat 50 overs.
There is no reason that the Irish, who play on such pitches, would fail to chase 150. My only hope is Gul bowling against the lefties.

Was close just saved by the huge stride he had taken. always hard to give LBW if you are stretched out 2 yards from crease.
 
ok i am getting worried now ... irish aren't bowling anymore wides ... how are we going to get to a dent total now ?

The new ball WILL seam and bounce and the pitch will benefit Pakistani bowlers. A target of 150 will make for a wonderful contest. Also of note, the opening bowler of Ireland was able to extract some swing, so there is no reason why Pakistan cannot do the same. A good bowling pitch it is, and shall remain for the duration of the contest.

They just need to keep doing what they are doing. 2-3 runs for next 5 overs and then see how comfortable they feel and think about slog.

Not before the 45 over though

But is it a good pitch all round? I tend to go with the view that a grassy pitch in never good for odis where the entertainment lies in watching big shots! Whilst this may a good test match pitch, It shouldn't be this grassy for an odi.
 
Pak should look to play shots once in an over now. 8 overs left now and they should plan to add 30-40 runs.
 
2 an over will get us past 150, can't ask for more at this stage. Infact i would be very happy with that.
 
They should start to open their shoulders because they aren't scoring and if anything are tiring themselves.
