Bresnan gone, doesn't make too much difference. Morgan needs all the strike he can get here.

112/6 going into the final over. This is the big moment imo: >120, it's advantage England. <120, advantage Ireland.

If Ireland wins, we will have Ireland in our group and a great chance to qualify to next round!!!!

Our group - > south africa, ireland and new zealand.

correct me someone if i'm wrong

You are a certified lunatic - confirmed :ibutt :D STOP worrying !

How important will that Morgan innings be?

115 with 3 legit deliveries left. Anyone know if rain is sheduled for later?

Brilliant performance in the field by the Irish. They really are pumped up for this game.

121 to win.

Come on IRELAND! :D :yahoo

120 final score. Ireland has to bat decent to win this.

121 to get, England have enough if they can bowl tightly. I'm saying Ireland will be in the game for a while but I expect England to scrape this one.

Top effort by Ireland. They played like a team possesed. :14:

Batting is a bit weak but it only needs one or two players to make a quick fifty. A good start is vital.

O'Brien is my pick.

Stirling and Neil O'Brien are the key for the Irish. They need one of them to play a good knock here...

One good innings needed for Ireland and another batsmen with a little supporting role. Doesn't look the nicest track to bat on though.

Even though England will win ...

Ireland have a brilliant chance of knocking England out

Pak vs Ireland.. gives us more chances to progress on Thursday :D

yaar what are the chances of rain???? Rain can do it for Ireland I believe.

Chance of heavy rain shower. Ireland don't really need the rain, started well.

if ireland win they wont be part of Pakistan's super eight bracket.

Ah hell cuz of seeded thingy yeah ?

oh Well ...

Im not a big england fan but after watching them yesterday I thought they had the top 6 to win the world cup. I still do if they get through this game but its always nice to see the English mortified. One things for sure DL will never be used again if Ireland wins. England wont let the ICC get away with this rule

Actually they will. As they'll be replacing England in the seed spot. :asif

guyana was going through a massive drought, and the so the rain has now decided to come down.

Pakistan get the second place of India and south africa which is south africa.
Pakistan get the winner of the England and WEst Indies group which is the West Indies
Pakistan get the winner of the NEw Zealand and Sri Lanka group which is New Zealand

now I am scared for Pakistan what if rain helps Bangladesh tomorrow ??????

Super 8 Groups are decided upon seedings and not based on group winners. Hope you get the point now.

Theres a lot of talk regarding the South Africans playing for England but i think its nice to see guys that we might never see play through this method. Trott and Lumb certainly wud never get int he RSA team.

Oh man, what a situation :)) :)) ...are there any chances for rain to stop in few minutes or so?

Shouldn't last too long, just long enough for the wicket to spice up and help the ball to come on to the bat.

The luck of the Irish, kicking in.

I dont think match will continue some real dark and heavy clouds are there.

Pakistan will get England (if England qualify), or Ireland, not West Indies. West Indies are pre seeded as higher than England.

I have just seen more rain & dance then cricket in last few days. :(

According to cricinfo: "If the match is washed out entirely, which, I must say, still seems unlikely at this point, they will go through on superior net run rate after Ireland's dismal showing in their first game against West Indies."

I feel for England if D/L come into play and make things more difficult for them.

Interesting dilemma for Ireland here, should they go for the runs at a quick pace losing wickets, assuming the overs dont reduce from here onwards, but keeping in sight that rain might come later on, or keep playing slow and steady to go for the win, but if the D/L comes into play, then they might lose.

Its still a full game so Ireland should try to stay ahed of the D/L score. It should be on the scoreboard.

I hope :butt is watching ...

He needs all the ideas he can get .....

He already has all the ideas, its the execution which is lacking..

Is it still looking like it will rain or is it clear now?

Could rain again, so its vital Ireland stay ahead of the DL score once the five overs have passed.

Shot. 4.

Cricinfo commentary is screwed up

Bresnan to NJ O'Brien, no run, 137.1 kph, on a length on off stump and Porterfield leans forward, making a solid connection but straight to the fielder in the covers

2.4

Bresnan to NJ O'Brien, no run, 138.5 kph, accurate stuff from Bresnan, and Porterfield can only push a length ball to mid off

Can't blame the ICC, bro. It usually doesn't rain much at this time in the WI.

there's been forecast of rain since day 1 of the tourney mate, SURELY they can check weather patterns before they create a schedule.

sidebottom was clearly wasting time when rain started so ireland should not go above D/W par score.

if they play 5 overs

and Ireland dont lose a wicket

They need to be 27 to win the game. :D

is this normal weather for this time of the year in the west indies? the tournament is getting spoilt by these constant interruptions.

Eh. If we're saved by the rain then it will be the luck evening out from yesterday, when we batted like gods and apparently lost.

I hope rain doesnt affect tomorrow's match

Ireland instead of England is good for Pakistan

A few overs lost here could be a good thing for Ireland.

Won't be. Would have been if Ireland were like 30-0. But their 'momentum' is poor, so DL won't be too favourable towards them. Not even on the par score atm, so may well end up making it harder by giving them a difficult rate to chase down.

There will be a result tonight. Even if its just to complete the 5 overs.

This means Ireland would need 27 of 5. So another 13 off 9 balls. Three hits from Ireland and it's over. :)))

holy crap, if it's a draw, both teams will have the same points and considering west indies 8 wicket win, england will go out??

D/L is a load of crap and whoever organised the tournament at this time of the year should be sacked. this is pathetic.

I think England will go through on net run rate in case of a no result here.

No, if it's draw England go through to the next round.

Also depends on wickets I think.
