4.12pm Cross your fingers, covers coming off! No news on when we'll have a start though.

D/L is a load of crap and whoever organised the tournament at this time of the year should be sacked. this is pathetic.

D/L clearly doesn't work in T20.

But whoever decided to hold a cricket tourney in the Amazon basin in May is a bit soft, to be honest.

Also depends on wickets I think.

Depends on the time. If only 5 overs then what I said ealier but if more then there will be a target set by D/L, wickets won't matter.

Ireland will have all wickets to chase a set target.

Wickets only matter if a chase is in progress and rain is around. The more wickets are down the higher the D/L score. If the batting team is below the D/L score and the game is called off, they lose.

4.23pm Crikey, on come the covers again as the rain returns.

Even if the teams come to play, England will probably take a long time to bowl overs imho, because it is in England's favor to tie...

how long will they wait before calling it a tie ????

Morgan has taken the Irish luck with him. If it doesn't start very soon, the game will be called off, England through.

Well, going by cricinfo: "4.28pm Rain is easing, covers coming off once more! And 4.59pm is the cut-off point for play to resume, so we have half an hour. Which should leave enough time to get nine overs in... "

So, about 17 minutes left I think...

4.45pm Right, the game is off, and, with each team getting one point, England go through to the Super Eights courtesy of their superior net run-rate.

Unlucky Ireland, tried hard. England go through.

Barbados tom. Come on you Aussies!

Rain please stay away.

Its a tie so its England goes to super 8 and another deserving team lose because of rain.

could have been oh so memorable...tough luck for the Irish.

Luck of the Irish.

Lol. What a farce this tournament.

And by tournament I mean this version of the game.

I guess it evens out considering what went on yesterday.

^I'm sure that's really comforting for Ireland.

If it had gone the other way, England would have moaned and groaned about the WI game so not everyone was going to be happy in such a situation.

Anyway. I'm actually really glad this is happening.

Edit: I hope all games including at least one semi-final and the final get decided this way.

I would have backed us to defend 120 against Ireland on a tricky dicky. As much as it would have been jubilant to see the Ireland number 11 cream a six off the last ball of the 20 overs, hurl his bat into the air and gallop off into the sunset, it probably wouldn't have happened. The Windies bowled them out for 60, they're pretty poo.
